I got up from the couch, and walked towards the door. "If he's probably outside, I'm gonna go look for him. Stay here!" I went outside, and saw him sitting on the stairs. "Hey, dude! Something wrong?"

I held him close, and patted his back. "Shshsh, cry all you want. Crying is good." I couldn't help but wonder what made him so sad, but I wasn't gonna ask him.

I let him go, got up, and walked towards the door. "I want you to remember that we'll always be there for you, both Val and I, and we'll try to make you feel better! Now, come on, let's go in. It's getting cold outside." I held the door open, waiting for him to go inside
