Eggs-cuse me

Hey,

I don't think we've met yet.
It's been exactly a month today since I started my journey as a Trainer from Emera Town and I simply feel the need to talk a bit about my adventures so far - and in the future.

So welcome to my diary!

When I was invited into Professor Rowan's Lab, he did not wait long for me to settle in and right away proceeded to ask me a couple of questions.
He wanted to know
my Name: Konpaku (quite unusual I know)
my Gender: Female
my Favourite Element: Fire
And how I would describe myself: I believe I picked different, as I think that does describe me best.

He made notes and crosses on a piece of paper he held on a clipboard and excused himself.

I used the time to take a look around.
Soon my eyes were drawn to a large glass showcase.
In it were four eggs with different green patterns, some even had hearts.
As I stood there and watched them one of the eggs blinked for a moment and its pattern had changed, but before I could explore this phenomenon further the Professor returned.

In his hands he held one of these eggs and gave it to me.
Carefully I took it.
It felt strange and cold, so I tucked it into my jacket as the Professor explained a few things to me.

We went closer to the showcase and he explained to me how it worked.
The Professor is collecting the Pokémon eggs from the Pokémon that live in his vast garden or that he finds in the wild, sometimes they are even donated to him by other Professors or Trainers.
They had developed a technology that would allow Trainers from all over the world to collect an egg from the displayed four eggs.
All the eggs are stored in incubators in his basement - oh how I would have liked to see those - and whenever a Trainer decides to adopt one of the displayed one, the egg is sent to him and is replaced by a new one from below.
The Professor brought me to a computer and showed me the interface to do this.
A new egg would display it's first type after 30 seconds, it's rarity after 2 minutes and then show the Pokémon itself after 5.
He urged me to try my luck in picking five more eggs to fill my party. So I randomly clicked on eggs that looked interesting because the pattern or that already showed which type they would be. It was exciting and a bit strange when they appeared before me.
Unfortunately can I not say which ones those were, but I do believe a male Nidoran was among them. I am certain a Goldeen was one of my first Pokémon, as the Professor showed me how to give a Pokémon a nickname and used him as an example.

The next thing he showed me, was how to interact with my own and others' eggs to help them hatch.
Every Trainer's data are fed into a wide Computer System, with eggs and later Pokéballs being linked directly to it.
He gave me a special net for the eggs in my backpack and a belt for the balls.
This way - when connected to a computer or smart phone - you could literally click other peoples (and your own) eggs while they were still in their shells. This interaction would send an impulse to the egg and warm it, better than my jacket ever could.
Interacting with Pokémon in their balls would initiate a Training sequence for them.
I really would have liked to take a closer look at this as well, but there was no time and other people were waiting for the Professor already.

So I decided to leave him for now and explore the parts of Emera Town that I hadn't been allowed to enter before.
But that is a tale for another day...

Author's Note: This diary will re-tell the stuff you can do on PokéHeroes in a storytelling way. So the made up stuff like the egg-net, the incubators and so forth will continue throughout the diary to make it sound more "realistic".
I hope you enjoyed this first look and have fun with the next entries.
I'll be posting irregularly whenever I have time to write up a short piece.

Inter-Action!

As I strolled through the town my nose caught a sweet smell that I couldn't resist following. Not long after did I find myself in front of an entrance enclosed by high, green hedges. Beside it stood a small wooden booth displaying a few things and a quirky young woman attending it. Lorelei - as she introduced herself - asked me right away if I wanted to get my own Berry Garden and I must have looked at her like a Buneary stares at the lights of an approaching car. She laughed as she left her booth and gently pushed me towards the entrance.
Lined side by side I could see many fields ranging as far as the eye could see, some sealed off by fluttering tape or even fences, others tended to by strangers, either planting seeds or collecting berries - as the name would suggest.

Lorelei told me I could get such a Berry Garden myself, but it would cost me a small amount of money. When I asked her how much it wasn't as small as it had sounded and I wondered out loud, how I would ever be able to gain such an amount.
She waved it off, saying it was easy-peasy. At my uncomprehending look she asked me, if I didn't knew about interactions. I told her that the Professor had explained the concept of hatching and training to me, if that's what she meant, but again she sniggered.
"Silly Professor", she said, "Didn't even tell you that you might earn money from interacting"
Perplexed I merely kept starring at her - earning money through helping to hatch or train others' Pokémon, was she being serious?
Lorelei brought me back to her booth and took out her laptop, there she opened the interaction interface the Professor had briefly shown me.
She proceeded to click through a few Pokémon and then suddenly the line "You have been rewarded with 5 Pokédollar!" appeared and I couldn't believe my eyes.

She told me in order to be able to do this, I had to connect my bank account with the Trainer ID of my Pokédex that was used for the interactions. This way any money I earned through it would go directly to my bank. It sounded incredible and she helped me to set it up right away. While Lorelei was at it she also installed a Plug-In into my Pokédex and Laptop that would allow me to collect random tokens for a game at the Game Center that I haven't had heard of before, but it sounded fun, so I let her go ahead.
When everything was done I asked where the money came from. She told me that this was something special designed by the bank and the Game Centre. Every time you buy something a part of it is distributed to a special account that is used for exactly this reason. Same for the game tokens that simply go back into the system as soon as you use them. This way no new money or tokens are created, but as not everyone is using either regularly the amount that is distributed changes in regards to the availability and it is only randomly distributed.
In case of the Berry Garden, she told me, if I bought it for the amount she told me, she'd only get 75% of it and 25% would go straight to the bank for interaction distribution.
It sounded reasonable in a way, even if it meant retailers would earn less through selling their goods.

As I now understood the whole thing I thanked Lorelei for her help and went for a walk between the Berry Gardens. One of them was full of trees, some of them were already hanging with fruits had hadn't been collected yet, some others still were in full bloom, so I took the liberty to sit down beneath one of the latter to enjoy its shadow and smell.
When I sat comfortably I took out my Laptop and started interacting with other peoples Pokémon and Eggs.
It was time to earn some money...

Author's Note: I have no idea if the money and chips for interaction are distributed like this, but it makes sense to me to not endlessly create new money/chips.
