Chase opened the note and read it. He then looked at the garden. "Why is the garden wanting Mint to protect me?" Chase folded the note and put it back in Mint's pocket.

Mint twitched irritably, flicking her ears in her sleep. Her eyes were narrowed and shut, and she reached in front of her, reaching for something, crying softly in her sleep.

Chase walked back to her with some flowers. Chase sat next to her, watching her, make sure she is safe. He put his hand on her side.

She didn't open her eyes. She was awake by now. She didn't want to open her eyes. She kept them shut, pressed against her hands.

Mint grinned. "Pff. At least her hair was tame." She gestured to her hair, which was relatively curly, but rather lumped in spots.

Chase looked at Mint. "The same dream I have been getting. But I had the knife." Chase thought for a second. "There was a fuzzy thing that was next to me, but I didn't know who or what it was." Chase looked at the ceiling.
