A cold, metallic hand touched Justin's shoulder and the orange light got back and illuminated the small space: Caroline was in front of him, with a sort of 'broken face':

One eye isn't visible or shining, but the orange dot is there. Also, it seems to be in a hole, like a point in a half-shattered vase. She looked directly at him.

"I told you, that I will observe you."
