Dream Quest (PG-13)

I know I said that my other story was going to be my last, but it was slowly getting tiring doing similar plots, which always seemed to end up not working in the end. Mega crossovers tend to work best when you know exactly what to do with them. That is why I'm going to work on this instead. It's a mega crossover, like my others, but there is something that makes it different.
It's not going to be a world/dimension traveling type adventure nor is it going to have a plot where many/all worlds merge into one. No, this one is going to be based around dreams. Yes, many different worlds are going to still be visited, but they won't be the real world, but a dream version of that world.
This is still going to be a Rick and Morty based story as well except the plot isn't going to be rushed. I've quickly began planning it and I like it already. I'm not going to go too deep into what this is going to be about, but I am going to tell you the basics. Now let's get to the introduction itself.
The plot that I've formed for this basically has the dream realms being threated by a dark force. Rick uses an invention of his known as dreamer charms, which allows their users to enter the dream realms without having to enter someone's dream. The dream realms themselves appear as if they are worlds that can be visited when awake, but they aren't. Outside of these realms is a place where all of these different dream worlds are connected known as the dreamscape (yes, this is unoriginal), which has several gateways into each realm (based on different cartoons, anime, video games, etc). Some are even going to be completely original.
Since this idea is based around dreams you can bet that Scary Terry (from the episode Lawnmower Dog) is going to have a major role in this. He's a friend of Rick and Morty since the end of that episode and will be their main ally during their quest since he does have the ability to travel through dreams (even without using the gateways).
That's all I can really say without giving away too much of the plot. I'm going to think this over some more for the rest of the day and then work on the first chapter tomorrow. I'll see you then.
