A ship docks at the port while the loudspeaker inside blares out to all of the passengers. Outside is a beautiful, quaint town with flowers bursting in all different colors. This is Sepia Town, where many ships drop off their passengers so they can go to the Pokemon Lab and receive their starter by a trained lab intern. A large building is right in the middle of the town, and it's obvious that it's the Pokemon Lab. That is the target of several beings on the ship, namely you.
If one's eyes are looking out the window and at the sky without blinking, one can see a blur. Wait- it's gone. It must be your mind playing tricks on you, right?
People are starting to get off to begin their new lives. Are you ready to go, too?

Snickers were heard as one of the starters scampered across the tiled floor, a small sack of candy in her jaws. Soon afterwards, a water-type charged after her, roaring, [That ain't yours! That ain't yours, ya runt, got it?] The lab intern behind a counter sighed and leafed through the pages of a book. Was it just her, or are Pokemon incredibly annoying, now that they are empowered with human speech?
[Aww! Sorry, darlin', but if it's not tacked down to the floor with your name on it, it's mine!] the grass-type cooed, her voice muffled by the sack. The water-type growled, his eyes glaring at the smug grass-type. [That ain't yours,] he repeated. How he longed for a lollipop from his precious treasure trove, which was swinging from the idiotic grass-type's mouth! She was small for her age, but she was sure fast.
[What in the name of Arceus is going on here?] a low, soft voice murmured. On top of the counter, a fire-type starter uncurled and sat upright, her fiery tail twitching. She had an air of dignity that made one want to bow or curtsy when seen. [It ain't hers,] the water-type mumbled sulkily. [It ain't hers, it ain't hers!] the grass-type sang, giggling. [Got anything else to say, sweetie?]
[Silence!] the fire-type roared, and both stopped bickering, immediately cowed by her majesty. With grace and elegance, the fire-type leaped down from the counter and landed without a sound. "Yeah, shut up, everybody. I'm trying to read," the intern growled as she continued to flip the pages of her book. The sooner she could get rid of these annoying Pokemon, the better.

The three Pokemon looked up. [Ooh! A person! Hon, I'm sure you'd rather pick me than these two,] she purred, dropping the sack in her mouth as she did so. Triumphantly, the water-type dived and grabbed it. "Uh-huh. That grass girl over there is a Brogsly." the lab intern informed Bella. The grass-type blushed, wondering why her adorable kind had such an ugly species name. [Please give me a new nickname when you choose me,] she whined, and the water-type rolled his eyes, now snacking on a lollipop. "The water one's a Hyttria, and the fire one's a Pyresen."
Focused on the girl, the grass-type beamed for all she was worth. She was looking at her! The fire and water-type knew it too, but they didn't care much. In a matter of a few hours, another person will pop in and nab one of them. [What're your name, dearie?]

So annoying, the lab intern thought, but kept her opinions to herself. "Yeah, that's cool." She laid down a Pokedex, a Pokegear, five Pokeballs, ten Potions, and ten Full Heals on the counter. Picking up the Pokedex, the lab intern showed it to the girl. "Doubt you can hold all of this stuff, so here's how to store stuff." Tapping the Pokedex, the lab intern pressed the 'Items' tab on the screen. Two options showed up; 'Deposit' and 'Withdraw'. "This is connected to your PC," the girl explained. She pointed the Pokedex at one of the Potions and pressed the 'Withdraw' button. The Potion disappeared with a red flash of light. She did the same with the rest of the Potions, the Full Heals, and the Pokeballs. "You get them back with the 'Withdraw'. There'll be a list of stuff that you have in your PC. Just tap it and it'll appear. Same with Pokemon, only in the 'Pokemon' tab, and they have to be in their Pokeballs."
[Are we going to leave or what?] the grass-type shouted, already trotting to the door. [And what's my nickname?] The lab intern blew a sigh and passed the Pokedex and Pokegear to the girl. "The map, radio, and phone services are in there," the lab intern told her, pointing to the Pokegear. "Have fun and all that."
Brogsly, level 5. Scratch, Growl.
If you're hot stuff, this Brogsly is at your service. If not, well, don't expect her to shower you in love anytime soon. This girl knows how to strut her stuff, and you better believe it. Male Pokemon are infatuated by her, but she would rather go for a cuter male than a less attractive one, whether he has a good personality or not. She likes to flirt with cute male Pokemon, but she tries to ignore others who aren't nearly as attractive. Being small and quick on her feet, this Brogsly is an expert thief, so you better count your belongings while you're with her. Calling others 'darling', 'honey', and 'sweetie' an awful lot, her talent is making others blush. She can be mean at times, teasing others while dangling their treasures above their heads; however, she has a good heart. She can have temper tantrums at times and complains a lot, but if Bella treats her well, she'll be a loyal friend.

"Well, I was thinking Amilite, after my mother's Pokémon, like I said." Bella replied back, yawning shortly afterwards. "I think we may need to look for somewhere to go."
[Ooh! I like that name, darlin'! Your mother must have had a talent for nicknaming!] Amilite seemed pleased as she said that, and Bella began walking out, Amilite close behind.

Ah, Sepia Town. There were several things to do here. The most evident one was to just go and enter Route 1. The sooner you go, the sooner you get there, right? However, maybe Bella would like to linger a little and complete a few tasks before moving into Ventur Village. It's a beautiful day, after all, and Bella had tons of time before she sets off towards Ventur Village. Why not stay awhile?
A large flower field is next to the lab, one of the prides of Sepia Town. Tulips, roses, marigolds, daisies- you name it, it's there. All sorts of Pokemon live there, and there are some people wading through the bright buds in search of wildlife. Perhaps Bella would want to either battle and capture wild Pokemon or persuade them to join her, or maybe she would like to battle some other people there for money and experience?
Then there's a flower store to the right of the flower field, named Mulch and More. Maybe Bella could find something of usefulness inside. Lastly, there is a crowd gathering around a nearby stand. A man is standing, shouting and waving his hands, with a Hoothoot on his shoulder. What was going on over there?

Already, the door had opened again. The fire-type silently nodded to the girl who came in, somehow managing to do this casual act with a regal air. Well, that's this Pokemon to you. The water-type stared up at the girl with narrowed eyes. [Ya don't look very tough,] he accused her. [By Arceus, Hyttria, you know that first impressions aren't everything,] the fire-type murmured, casting a disapproving look his way. Her fierce stare was so scornful that the water-type had to look away. She did have a point anyways.
So soon? the lab intern thought. Just as the other girl left, another one had entered. "Yo. Welcome to the Pokemon lab. That water-type's a Hyttria, and the fire-type is a Pyresen." she informed the girl. The fire-type nodded with warm eyes as her species name was mention, and the water-type grunted as a way of greetings. "Just choose one. What's your name, and are you a trainer, breeder... What?" she asked.

A young boy stepped forwards, eyes shining in excitement, and paid the fare. "I'll try it!" he shouted. At once, the man clicked the buttons of the five Pokeballs and five Woopers began bouncing around everywhere. The young boy ducked and dove this way and that, and soon caught four Woopers in 45 seconds. The man chuckled and whispered to his Hoothoot, "Now's the time!" [Now's the time, now's the time!] the Hoothoot gleefully sang, and the man returned the Woopers to the Pokeballs. The young boy groaned, and the man patted him on the back. "Maybe next time, young laddo, eh?"
If Amilite or Bella had counted down the seconds or overheard the man's whispering, they would have known that the man was scamming everyone. However, if they simply tried to expose him by shouting it out into the crowd, nobody would notice or believe them. What would be the best way to prove this man a scammer? And if they didn't know, they could either spend a little cash and try it or walk away.

(The Pyresen's a girl X3)
Springing to his paws, the water-type complained, [Aw, why do I have to be alone for awhile?] The fire-type merely chuckled and brushed him with her fiery tail as a sign of affection. [Patience, Hyttria. Someone will come for you soon. Perhaps your owner will catch up to mine and they can meet?] Grumpy but somewhat reassured, the water-type nodded, and the fire-type padded to the girl.
Two down, one to go! the lab intern thought, relieved. Then she remembered that there was a whole bin full of starters that she had to get rid of. Ugh. "Alright." She laid down a Pokedex, a Pokegear, five Pokeballs, ten Potions, and ten Full Heals on the counter. Just tap it and it'll appear. Same with Pokemon, only in the 'Pokemon' tab, and they have to be in their Pokeballs."
While the lab intern passed the items to the girl's care, the fire-type nodded respectfully. [Do you wish to nickname me?] she asked, although she couldn't careless if the girl decided to or not. Names aren't very important in her opinion. [And shall we take our leave?]
Pyresen, level 5. Scratch, growl.
Even though she doesn't wear a crown, this Pyresen is as queenly as can be. Her regal air is enough to cow others into silence and doing what she says. She walks like she's floating, and she never makes a careless move. Never making a sound when she walks, this Pyresen makes a good scout or spy. Often, she can be seen lecturing others on their manners, but this lady-like creature is inwardly kind and caring. She can't stand to see others get hurt. In battle, although not strong or fast, her quick intellect can win many a fight. Although impatient at times, she always looks before she leaps. Although it's hard to earn her respect, it's well worth it. If Sage is deemed worthy to be a good trainer by her, this Pyresen will stand by her side forever. As long as you sit up straight and don't mumble.

Bella shrugged. "I guess it was short. But no one would listen or believe us, so let us let them keep count," was all she said before they reached the shop. Mulch and more, hmm? Was the think both were thinking as they silently stepped in. Waves of wonderful smelling berries came at them as the door opened. Ding!

The exasperated voice of a women is overshadowed by squeals of delight. [Whee! Sorry! Excuse me! Bless you! Good afternoon!] a Budew gleefully shouted, knocking into people and shelves. The woman chasing her grabbed a falling flowerpot just in the nick of time and carefully replaced it before striding towards the troublemaker again. "Floret, please!" she cried, practically begging now, as customers shot death glares at the woman.
Running into Bella's leg, the Budew fell backwards. She flipped back upright and grinned. [Hi there! How are you? Good morning! Bless you!] the Budew squealed, giggling, starting to run off again. It would be best to catch her before she runs off and begins to break things inside the shop.

[Hey! Watch it! You're going to CRUSH me under these bags, honey!] Amilite said, bounding after the Budew, swiftly dodging falling things. Once she caught up to the woman, she managed to say, [I've got it from here, sweetie. My trainer will help me in a second.]Afterwards, Amilite cut in front and used Growl on Budew, hoping to slow it down a little, since her paws were getting tired.
