name: Elliot
age: 19
gender: male
appearance: Elliot rises to around 5'5" in height with wild, red-brown hair. He has silvery grey eyes, whether or not they came with his mutations he doesn't know. His original mutation plans were merely the addition of two new arms, him being one of the first of many captives, they didn't want to go to the extremes. Deemed 'too chatty,' he was given the addition of a zipper to the mouth. Elliot wears a dark blue hoodie at all times, accompanied by black jeans and worn out boots. (also see picture I showed you :I)
personality: Elliot considers himself a story teller, almost constantly spewing wild tales no one would bother listening to. He's rather energetic, but he isn't much of a listener and usually comes up with witty, sarcastic remarks no matter the situation.
history: Elliot was volunteered to the lab, just opening, at a young age by his oblivious family. Upon discovering this, Elliot began weaving and tangling himself in a web of lies and stories. He was given the addition of his arms, and no later than a day after, the zipper sealing his mouth. Although he can easily unzip it and go off spouting nonsense, he's learned better from his years in the lab.

name: Bella
age: 13 1/2
gender: female
appearance: Bella is a small girl, barely rising to 5'2" in height. She has dark brown eyes that almost match the black of her pupil and long, dark straight hair reaching to her waist. It's usually kept in a neat braid down her back, not including her bangs which cover her eyes and some of her face. Bella's mutation consisted of mixing her with bats, giving her poor eyesight (at this point she's really stopped depending on her eyes) but highly developing her other senses, including echolocation. She has a mostly human appearance, other than dark fur partially lining the pale skin of her forearms, collarbone and neck. Her teeth are sharp, similar to some species of bat and she does have a small pair of wings, but only strong enough to glide short distances or make a fall a little slower. Bella is usually found wearing a dark dress reaching to her knees. (I'll draw her later.)
personality: Bella is quiet and usually stays secluded from the other mutants. Despite that, her keen senses inform her of things within the facility others don't usually figure out. If she spits out more than a few words, like an answer to a question, she'd fill your head with all sorts of useless facts that she's picked up in her life.
history: Bella was taken to the facility at no older than 5 or 6, most of her live being spent at the labs. She's considered one of the most cooperative subjects, although the guards and others have no idea of what goes on in her head. For example, escape plans.

Skyler sat tiredly in the little room that all mutants were allowed to be for certain hours of the day. The room was full of things to use such as notebooks and little toys that reminded her of home. Not many seemed to come by the room, considering they were all past the point of wanting anything human, but she was one of the lucky ones who got to keep her most human qualities of her mind. At that moment, she was busily sketching out the posing snake, Jazz, since he so adored having pictures of himself. Sky loved drawing since it reminded her of her days spent with her friends long before she was taken away.

Elliot's eyes flickered around as he took a slow pace to one of the few rooms the mutants were allowed to be in, extra arms tucked into his hoodie pockets. He didn't particular like it, but it was better than being stuck, alone, in his quarters. Perhaps today a guard would allow him to chat with the others, the simple idea lifting his spirits only slightly. When he finally shuffled to the door, he briefly looked up at the guard posted there, who in turn quickly grabbed the clipboard at his side. Good, a guard who knew him. The guard briefly flipped through the notes before speaking.
"Ah, Elliot, yes you're good for today."
He wanted to leap for joy at the mere words, but he contained himself and entered the room. Elliot briefly scanned the room. He didn't know many of the other mutants, and there were only three in the room today, not including himself. With a sigh of relief, he unzipped the familiar device keeping his mouth shut. Some days, it was hard to keep quiet with all the ideas racing through his mind.

Jazz began to get restless from posing for so long, and in turn, snapped at Skylers hand causing her to drop the pencil and slightly mess up her sketch. "Hey!" She hissed at the snake, her tongue flicking rapidly out of her mouth. "You weren't getting my good sssside anywaysss." Jazz hissed back, picking up the pencil in his mouth and scribbling over the drawing. Skyler softly sighed and sat back in her chair, having been used to the constant tormenting of her counterpart. She glanced around the room, catching sight of a boy she hadn't met before. He seemed relatively human, only a few extra arms and a zipper. She automatically wanted to talk to him, since she hadn't had a conversation with anyone but Jazz in months. Instead she sat farther in her chair and watched Jazz with tired eyes.

After gazing around the room a moment longer, Elliot decided who looked the most approachable of the mutants. That would have the be the snake girl. Perhaps she would appreciate a good story. He stretched his arms and quietly cleared his throat before approaching her. The girl herself didn't seem too intimidating, but the snake made him more uncertain by the second. Keep yourself distracted, don't look at the snake. No, don't look at the snake. Again, anywhere but the snake.
Elliot silently decided he couldn't turn back now, the girl probably already noticed him. But then again, he didn't know that for sure. A small part of eight year old Elliot screamed to change direction, act like you weren't going towards her.
He still remembered the day his older brother's 'pet' snake got loose. The day before his parents sent him to this hell.

Skyler watched a bit timidly as the boy walked towards her. He seemed to be a bit on edge and as she caught his glance on Jazz, she realized what the cause was. "Jazzzz you've got to stop scaring people." She softly hissed out at the snake that was now taking a pretty proud pose, opening and closing his mouth in a way of intimidation. "But he'sss just weak." Jazz hissed back, flicking his tongue rapidly as he spoke. "But I want someone to talk to who isn't going to snap at me.." Skyler said, glaring at the snake angrily.

Elliot finally reached the girl, eyes still uncertainly following the snake's movement. He huffed, taking in a breath before he spoke.
"Haven't seen you around before, I'm Elliot."
Good enough. He didn't want to go off ranting about nothing in particular without even introducing himself. His gaze was still locked on the snake, as if he expected it to do something, but Elliot felt slightly better about it.

Jazz was the first to answer the stranger, cutting Skyler off before she could talk. "Hello sssir. I'm Jazz and this is my less important counterpart, Ssskyler." His voice was sly and daring, as if everything he said was carefully thought out. Skyler sighed and spoke up after the cobra, her voice much softer, "Nice to meet you Elliot." She gave a small smile, trying to comfort him. "Don't worry, Jazz is more bark than he is bite." She lightly touched the snakes head with her hand as if petting him, before the snake hissed at her and she pulled her hand back away.

"I guess that's comforting to know? Thought I might as well talk to someone while I can. You're kind of well," Elliot briefly gestured to the other mutants in the room, "the least intimidating, compared to anyone else in here. Not including the snake, more bark or not."
He paused, attempting to think of something else to say. That wasn't a lie. Or stupid. Of course, most of his current thoughts were stupid lies, or ridiculous stories and ideas. For example, escaping. What mutant hadn't considered it? Elliot still vaguely remembered when he'd first arrived here, how there were only a few guards here and there as most of the mutants weren't too dangerous or inhuman. Now, there were practically guards at every corner. He absently grabbed a toy from the floor to fiddle with while waiting for a response from Skyler.

"Yeah, I know what you mean, it's hard to find anyone - er - anything that is relatively human anymore." Sklyer said looking down at herself with slight sadness. "I'm barely human anymore." She sighed lightly, the scales along her body seemed to further her depression. "I wish I could talk to someone, aside from the guards, who still looked like a person. Maybe then I'd be able to remember what it was like to be happy and normal." She stopped, realizing she was babbling about nonsense. Jazz had decided he was bored of the conversation and was now curled up asleep on the table.

Elliot nodded, agreeing with Skyler. "Yeah. I'm hardly ever even allowed to talk. Heh, I'm surprised I haven't gone off ranting about nothing in particular yet. Its hard to keep quiet, y'know?"
He glanced absently around the room, surprised to see a small girl scurry in and past the guard. The guard looked as if he was going to say something to her, but instead shut his mouth. Elliot took his silvery glance elsewhere once the girl found a seat in a corner.

On impulse, Bella had left her quarters to go off to one of the many rooms of the vast facility. It was like a maze, she thought. The mutants are restricted only to a small part, it was a maze. A labyrinth. The girl had spent recent weeks supposedly 'getting lost' in the labyrinth, in reality she was trying to find the closest exit. Of course, the guards believed her silly 'I wanted to go to one of the day rooms, but I couldn't find the way and got lost!' story. Bella was careful to space out these expeditions and not to trick the same guard twice. They'd realize something was up. They weren't that stupid. If only they were. After all, she was still much younger than most of the mutants.
Bella sped up as she approached what she referred to as the quiet room. That's what it was, that's why she usually picked it over the others. The guard at his post opened his mouth to speak to her, but Bella slipped into the room and to her corner. Mostly to think, no other reason. As the facility's so-called little angel, most guards didn't know her. Bella spent most of her time in the lab or her quarters. That was okay though. There were a few other people in the room, but that was also okay. She could still think here.

"Hm, that's pretty rude of the guards to not let you talk much, talking is one of the few freedoms we have left -- that and breathing." Skyler laughed softly and gave a quaint smile to the boy. Jazz had heard the comment and decided to bust into the conversation once again, "It'ssss probably better they don't let you talk anywayss." The snake grinned as he rose up slowly so he was taller and more intimidating. Skyler just watched him. Jazz had caught sight of the new girl but said nothing, Skyler was too oblivious to notice.

Elliot let out a soft laugh at the comment, trying not to go rigid at the snake's sudden addition to the conversation. "Perhaps," he mused, "but I'm pretty sure it's just because I'm an annoying, story-telling liar. I don't see how it's rude though, the guards get specific orders for some of the mutants, mostly the dangerous ones and guess who? Me! Elliot, zipper-mouthed four armed guy, grouped with the dangerous mutants." Elliot briefly paused, realizing his incredibly pointless ranting, before daring to ask a question. "On a slightly different subject, story?"

Bella, slightly lost in thought, caught a few snippets of zipper boy and snake girl's conversion. For example, zipper boy's name was Elliot. She had to remember not to call him that at first or he'd realize she must have been eavesdropping. Bella noticed she had subconsciously been inching forward, stopping herself before the duo noticed. Other than learning the name, she heard that he liked telling stories. She definitely liked stories. Some of her foggy memories involved an unknown man telling her tales of his travels. The stories were also a blur, but the bits she could recall Bella held close to her heart.
Before the knew it, Bella was merely a few feet away from Elliot and the girl with the arm snake. It was to late to scurry away, and she finally invoiced a single, quiet word.
"Stories?"

"You can't be that annoying. Oh yes a story would be nice though, sure." Skyler nodded a bit, her mind buzzing. She was now a tad bit nervous to here a story, considering the boy had just said he was a liar. She licked her lip as she went to talk but before she could squeeze out a sound she heard a females voice. She glanced over, noticing a girl. She seemed normal-ish, at least not past the point of recognition. Skyler scratched her chin nervously -- a small nitch of hers that always seemed to show when she had awkward and nervous emotions. "Oh-" Skyler began to say something to the girl but was cut off, "And who the heck are you?" Jazz hissed. He wasn't one to enjoy many people and he definitely was not a fan of girls since he saw them as weak. It was always a problem, with him having to be attached to a girl, but he rarely tried to harm Skyler, despite knowing he easily could.

Bella turned to the snake, mouth curling downwards into a frown. "Why, that's rather rude. If it's completely necessary to satisfy you, arm snake, my name is Bella." Forcing out the words, by the end of it her heart was pounding rather uncomfortably within her chest. She would've been happy with merely stating her name, but she felt as if she needed to properly reply.

"Oh, random girl, okay yeah stories let me think." Elliot didn't really think the girl as someone much out of the ordinary. The wings protruding from her back were perplexing, but he didn't bother questioning this Bella girl, he was thinking of a story. "Ah, I know, how about how the facility started-Elliot edition! Came up with it a while back, but still a favorite of mine."
