"Shallowmask, Amberpath, Oakstripe, and Skyfall, would you four like to go on a hunting patrol? The fresh kill pile is low." Newsky asked the warriors. "I don't see why not." Shallowmask replied, earning nods of approval fro, Amberpath and Oakstripe.

Lightcream was grooming her kit, careful not to lick too rough. Treekit yawned, signalling that she was tired already. She stopped licking her and pressed her warm stomach against Treekit's sleepy body.

"Where's Blizzardwilow? Is he still sleeping?" Starrydream grumbled, heading towards the messy stash of herbs. She slowly started organizing, looking around every once in a while for her apprentice.

Cleo yawned as she gazed at the lush forest, wondering what lies behind the greenery. She spotted a white and orange cat, probably a tom because of his side, slinking out of the forest. Her ears perked up as the tom was not staring right at her.

Dusty desperately mewled for her mother, smelling something odd. A musky odor was coming closer, and she was terrified. Suddenly, Nightpaw sprang at the unknown figure, lashing out at it.

Skyfall nodded eagerly. "Of course, Newsky!" she mewed excitedly. The she-cat nearly bounced out of her fur. Besides, Shallowmask was on the patrol. She enjoyed spending time with him. Not like a mate or anything, just as friends, she always thought to herself. The pale tortoiseshell she-cat calmed down.

Blizzardwillow yawned. "I'm up," he muttered tiredly. "Sorry Starrydream." The grey tabby stretched a little bit and staggered uneasily and tiredly onto his paws. He had hidden himself away from his mentor - under a pile of leaves that were not herbs - earlier so he could sleep. But now he shook himself awake and helped his mentor sort herbs.

Stormheart, as always, was trailing after Lunartail. "Stop following me around," Lunartail hissed, her neck fur beginning to fluff out in annoyance. Stormheart, however, did not obey the older warrior, making her even more angry. Lunartail rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Might as well go check on Jaywing." She padded toward the nursery to check up on Jaywing to make sure her friend was okay.

"Well then let's go." Oakstripe said, padding out of camp. Amberpath and Shallowmask followed, the latter stopping to wait for Skyfall and the former quietly chuckling at the tom. She knew that he had feelings for her.

"It's alright, just wondering where you were." She replied, a bit startled as he suddenly appeared. Starrydream continued sorting the herbs, a bit hot because of her slight fluffy fur.

"You should run away." He bluntly stated. "Why? My owners take good care of me." Cleo replied. "Your 'owners' will take you somewhere bad and will make you change. You'll become lazy and tired all the time. Come with me." Terry explained. "R-really? Well..I have seen other cats become like that so I guess I should trust you." She said and hopped down from the fence. "I'm Terry, mind if I ask your name?" He asked. "I'm Cleo, thanks for warning me." She mewed.

The fox knocked Nightpaw away, trying to eat him because he was small. Dusty was hiding under a leaf, cowering in fear. The apprentice had just realized that a kit was in danger and tried to distract the fox as best as he could.

Skyfall padded after the patrol. "I'm coming!" the she-cat called. Her pale tortoiseshell fur lay flat as she approached Amberpath and Shallowmask. Her steps were light and a bit quiet, but not completely silent.

Cindermoon was sitting in the nursery by Jaywing. "I know you feel sad about Daisyheart. But the decision was made. She attacked Brightstar. Maybe I can take you to see her soon." Jaywing looked up at Cindermoon. "If we do go, I want to take Glaciertail with us. He is my mate after all." Cindermoon dipped his head in understanding.

The red tabby she-cat and the black tom padded through the green forest. "We're getting close," the tom commented. The she-cat set her bundle down; a small golden tabby she-cat with pale cream - almost white - paws, underbelly, tail tip, and muzzle. "It's okay Rose. We'll be there soon." The red tabby she-cat flicked her tail toward a cave. "It's past that cave, Charcoal."

"I tried to save your friends too, but they ignored me. I guess i'll have to teach you how to survive around these parts." Terry said and padded back into the forest, the bengal mix following him. He started showing her around, not even bothering to check to see if they crossed the borders. The two then saw a small black tom fighting a fox, while a grey kit cowered in fear. Terry sprang at the fox, not wanting the kit to get hurt despite fighting alongside a clan cat. Cleo picked up Dusty and somehow managed to climb a tree.

"Wildflower, I smell a fox," Charcoal warned. Wildflower's red tabby fur fluffed out. "We need to find the Clan then. We'll leave Rose there." I'm sorry my dear kit. It's for your own good, however. I don't have any milk. I have to leave you. Charcoal picked up Rose and the two cats continued on toward the Clan's camp.

Cindermoon padded out of the nursery as Lunartail padded in with Stormheart, as always, trailing behind her. The light silvery tom decided to check with Brightstar to see if he could have some time out of camp. "Brightstar!" he called to his leader, who was in her den.
"Hmm? Cindermoon? If you need to talk to me come in."
"I just have a quick question," the tom added. "I'd like some time out of camp, no reason."
"Well... Alright then. But be sure to get back quickly." Cindermoon nodded at his leader's words and padded out of her den and to the camp entrance/exit.

"Get the kit away from here! Go to the place where this scent is strongest!" Terry yowled, thrown to the Ground by the fox. She nodded and sprang out of the tree with Dusty, dashing towards the direction of the camp. "Everything will be alright, hang in there for me." Cleo muttered through the kit's for, the former kittypet's collar feeling a bit tight.

Nightpaw aimed for the ears, attempting to trick the fox. The orange rouge yelled at the kittypet but was thrown down. He defended Terry while the older Tom recovered.

Cindermoon heard something and saw a cat running toward him. Or was he imagining it? "Who's there?" he called confusedly. Confusion. That's all he felt. He wasn't quite sure of anything now. He padded forward slowly then broke into a sprint. The silvery tom skidded to a halt. He scented more cats. But he was confused, and he scented fear. But he thought that was imagined too.

Wildflower stalked through the undergrowth. The she-cat's steps were quiet, but not unheard by Rose and Charcoal. "Mama? Where are we going?" Rose asked from her father's grip. "You'll see, darling," Wildflower mewed calmly. Charcoal set Rose down and let Wildflower carry her. They had gotten past Cindermoon, but what if a patrol caught them?

Cleo passed Cindermoon and skidded to a halo. "You have to help, a fox is nearby and two cats are getting hurt!" she explained to him, still catching her breath. Dusty squealed in fear, trying to break out of her grasp. "Don't worry, everything's fine.." She told the kit, trying to soothe her.

Shallowmask scented three rouges and padded towards them. Seeing one of the rouges, he pounced on Charcoal. "Rouges..." Amberpath snarled, Oakstripe just arriving at the scene.

"Wildflower, run!" Charcoal shouted. Wildflower nearly gasped, but that would mean dropping Rose. The red tabby she-cat broke into a sprint to get away from her former Clanmates. Rose began to mewl hungrily. Oh no... Wildflower only had about 10 fox-lengths until she reached the camp entrance. She ran faster. She was closing in. Right as she hit the mark, she dropped Rose purposely and turned around and ran back to Charcoal.

Cindermoon nodded. "I'll do the best I can. Try to find my Clanmates. Say 'Cindermoon told me to go to your camp.' I'll deal with the fox." Cindermoon sprinted in the direction where Cleo had just come from.

Amberpath sprinted after her old clanmate, anger bubbling in her chest. Once she turned around, the cream she-cat pounced on her. "Spying now eh? You rrouges really are evil!" She spat, pinning her down. She hated traitors and rouges with a burning passion.

"Go assist Amberpath, I'll deal with this rouge." Shallowmask called to the older Tom. Oakstripe didn't like taking orders, especially not from Shallowmask, but simply nodded and dashed towards the direction where the two she's went.

Cleo padded towards the camp, gently setting down the kit. "Cindermoon told me to go to your camp, he's fighting a fox that is in the territory." She gasped for breath, tired of running around. For a kittypet, this was a workout. The grey kit hid behind her legs, frightened by the cats. "My Starclan! This kit's ribs are showing, she must've been abandoned." Lightcream mewed, padding towards the two.

Wildflower hissed. "No, I just came for assistance! I can't raise my own kit. I've barely gotten to eat anything because prey is scarce where I took shelter. Since I can't raise her, I might as well just leave her with my sister!" The red tabby she-cat unsheathed her claws. She had to at least tell Jaywing what she was doing.

Charcoal spat at Shallowmask, trying to get the warrior away from him. "Get away from me!" he yowled. The black cat narrowed his eyes odiously. His claws unsheathed but he didn't try to fight Shallowmask. He knew that fox would try to attack Rose. "I have a kit! I have to know if she's safe!"

Cindermoon ducked away from the fox once more. He was tired and energy was being lost fast. He was covered in scratches and bites. "StarClan help me!" He rose onto his hind legs and tried to scratch the fox's face. He was in so much pain. The scratches and bites were aching. He could not just stand by and die. He was fighting for his life!

Mudwing scented another kit, apart from the ones in camp. "Another one?" he asked curiously and stuck his head out of the camp entrance upon reaching it. There, he saw a pale golden tabby kit with cream. "Why is this kit out here? It shouldn't be out here where it can be hurt." He lifted the kit up by her scruff and carried her into the camp.

"I'll take care of the kits." Lightcream said, picking up the kits and trotting back towards the nursery. She gently pushed the kits towards her, trying to get them to eat. "Thank you, I should probably go back to help." Cleo said and dashed towards the battle.

Nightpaw was slammed into a tree, blood coating the area. The three cats were going to die, it was hopeless. Just as the fox was about to eat the rouge, a bengal kittypet sprang towards the fox, madly scratching it since she didn't know how to fight.

Amberpath hesitantly got off her, currently in a sulking mood. Why did she have to be so justice minded? Soon, Oakstripe was at the scene. "Why aren't you holding her down?" He hissed. "She needs help raising her kit, we can't argue with that." She spat back, fur fluffed up.

Wildflower's eyes were filled to brim with gratitude. "Thank you. I wish I could find a way to repay you all." The red tabby slowly raised onto her paws. She knew her kit would be safer within the Clan than out being a rogue. But she had to ask. "I had to take my kit somewhere safe. I set her by the camp entrance. Is she inside the camp now?"

Levi and Bandit raced through the undergrowth. The two kits were on another search for prey. "I bet you can't beat me to that huge cave over there!" Levi mewed, his short legs running faster. Bandit grinned and she, too, began running faster. Bandit and Levi both tripped right in front of the cave. "I win!" shouted Levi. "No I won!" Bandit mewed at her littermate.

There's nothing more beautiful than the rain.

"I think you both won." Honey suggested, finally reaching them. "There can't be a tie, somebody's gotta win. Anyways, lets explore this cave!" Hunter chirped, padding inside. "What if there's a scary animal in there?" She squeaked. "I'll protect you guys!" He called.

"Somebody would have found her by now, lets get you to camp.." Amberpath slowly said, not sure if it were a prank to steal prey.

Levi hissed at Bandit. "It's obvious I won!" Bandit growled at her littermate. "No, I won!" The two kits began arguing. Bandit growled. "You won!" she mewed. Levi shot back, "No, you won!" Then he realized what he had done. Bandit smiled stupidly. "It's obvious then, I win!" Levi muttered something under his breath, but not loud enough for anyone to hear.

Wildflower nodded. "Alright," was her reply. She knew she couldn't blow this. She could prove to Brightstar that she had changed, that she was only doing the best for her kit. Besides, Rose would benefit the Clan if the she-kit was allowed to join.

There's nothing more beautiful than the rain.
