Autumn walked into the camp grounds, smiling with Amy, her Chespin perched on her shoulder. Autumn looked around, her letter still clutched in her hands.
Amy looked around, excitedly, hoping to see another Pokemon. "Chespinnnnn?? Pin pin pin? (Helooo?? Is any other pokemon here?)" She called out.

Aleena sat peacefully on a dock with her boots off and fishing pole in hand. Her Piplup, Sapph, and Luvdisc, Caserin, playing with one another in the water. At the end of her line was a Lure Ball, ready to capture Water-types that may cross its path.

"This is taking foooorever." she complained to her two Pokémon who happened to be too busy having fun in the water to realize she'd spoken. Aleena looked at the two of her Pokémon enjoying themselves and faintly smiled. At that moment, she felt her fishing pole move and quickly reeled in the line to find the Lure Ball at the end shaking. With six shakes, blue and white sparkles emitted from the center of the Pokéball confirming a capture of an unknown Pokémon. Aleena looked mildly confused. "Is that how it works?" she asked while detaching the Lure Ball and sending out the Pokémon inside which was revealed to be a Staryu. "Heya!" it cried. Aleena rummaged through her bag to find her Pokédex and when she did, she pointed it at the Staryu.


"Staryu, the Star Shape Pokémon. Staryu's center section has an organ called the core that shines bright red. As long as its red core remains, it can regenerate its body instantly, even if it's torn apart." the Pokédex explained.
"Let's see..." Aleena mumbled while tapping her Pokédex a few times. A faint "ding" sounded from the Pokémon Database and it spoke again.
"This Staryu's current moveset is Tackle and Swift." it revealed.
"What are you, level 3?" Aleena insulted. "Listen up, I'll give you one chance. I took a peek at the tournament matchup and as long as Shay wins her first match, we'll be going up against her in the second round. You'll be battling alongside Sapph here, and if you fail to show effortless teamwork, I'll release you." she told the Pokémon who cried out as if it understood. Aleena returned the Star Shape Pokémon to its Lure Ball and smirked. "Shay, you better watch out."

Autumn looked around and saw a girl at the lake, it seemed that the other girl was talking with a Staryu. She ran over to the other girl. "Hello, um, I just arrived at the camp, is this where I'm meant to be?" She asked.
"Che. Chespin pin pin... (Yeah. Ask a random girl who's fishing for help)" Amy said, sarcastically, the chespin rolled her eyes.

(@Kureseria331-) (Also, as to why Staryu says "Heya" rather "Staryu", Staryu's Japanese name is Hitodeman and in the anime, Misty's Staryu (in English as well) says something similar to "Heya". And I think it's pretty rad.)

Aleena heard someone approach her and made a face of disgust when the trainer asked her a question. "Um, you're a little late, no wonder you have no clue as to what to do. Does it look like anyone's here except for me? No. So obviously this isn't where you're supposed to get started. If you had maybe woken up a little bit earlier you wouldn't look like a dimwitted Magikarp." she scolded. "Piplup-lup." her Piplup added and they both cackled.

"Hey!" She seemed a bit offended. "Yeah I am a little late" Autumn sighed. "I would have come earlier if my stupid brother didn't keep me up all night"
Amy glared at the girl who just insulted her trainer. She jumped off Autumn's shoulder and dived towards the other girl, Autumn caught the chespin in time, and Amy was just punching the air. "Woah! Amy! Calm down!"

After a bit of running, Bell screeched to a halt at the end of a lake. "I bet there's some good Pokémon here. Keiran, you go train up on the Water types around the lake and the Flying types in the trees. Ian, you... I guess can find some grass types." He already had a Pokémon in mind, facing away from the lake and looking around. "It's around here somewhere... I know it..."

Hours were spent training and her little portion of the forest was seared with Lucky's flames. Hawkins was panting softly but the fire type looked strong and ready to keep going. Lucky always was the more durable of the two and she'd have to keep that in mind during battle. "Alright, that's enough for today." The puppy pokemon barked and wagged his tail before running to Fox's side with obvious excitement while Hawkins collapsed on the ground dramatically.

Eevee grew to level 14!

"Alright drama queen, return." The red light of the pokeball flashed, touching the eevee and pulling it back into the safety of its ball. She clipped it to her belt and surveyed the damage. "Think we're in trouble Lucky?" Fox asked with a snort, looking at the scorched land, destroyed bushes and the single fallen tree.

As she turned to leave a noise caught her attention and her sharp eyes caught movement. A single large leaf was shifting back and forth over one of the remaining intact bushes. "Odd," she murmured, walking towards it. Just before she reached the bush a pokemon leaped out at her with an angry cry. Fox lifted her arms to protect her face as vines lashed out at her. 'Chika!'

Lucky rounded on the grass type. Even after the long training the growlithe had a lot of energy, jumping to bite the other pokemon's leaf to stop the attack. With the time given Fox lowered her arms and took two jumps back. "A Chikorita. We must have burnt up its territory." Lucky was tossed to the side and the red head got a good look at it. A scar ran along the Chikorita's right eye and anger flashed in the eyes of a usually much sweeter species.

"Alright Lucky, battle ready! Ember!" Flames burst from the canine's maw only to miss, the grass type hitting the ground with its vines to propel itself into the air and throw out another attack.

"Quick, bite!" As the vines reached Lucky he bit down hard into them. The grass type cried out in pain as it was swung into the ground, hard. It bounced several times before Fox pulled an empty pokeball from her belt. "Alright Chikorita, you're mine." The ball flew and hit its target. It shook several times before falling still.

Lucky let out a victory howl and Fox picked up the ball. "Our first catch, and it's a good one."

Chikorita, female, the Leaf Pokemon. A sweet aroma gently wafts from the leaf on its head. It is docile and loves to soak up sunrays. Level 8, Ability: Overgrow. Moveset: Tackle, Growl, Vinewhip, Razorleaf

"This one didn't live up to its 'dex entry did it. What should I name you..."

"Not my problem. And keep that filthy Chespin away from me, thanks." Aleena told Autumn rudely and walked away. Her Piplup looked at the Chespin and laughed. "Let's go train, we have to beat Shay."

Shay spotted Aleena walking away from the lake and quickly hid behind a large tree until she passed. "That was a close one..." she whispered to Fennekin. "Kin..." she cooed.
She emerged from the tree and took the two Pokéballs off her belt loop. "Seviper, Pumpkaboo, I choose you!" she called, throwing the Pokéballs in the air and releasing the Pokémon inside.
"Seviperrr!" "Kaboo!" they cried. "Alright, Pumpkaboo and Seviper, you two will battle in the first round and then Fennekin and Pumpkaboo, you will battle in the second round. The tournament revealed that we will be battling against Aleena. I know it's dumb sending a Fire type in battle against two Water Types, but I want you to prove to her how strong you are, okay?" she explained as all her Pokémon nodded in unison.

"Now let's do some training!"

Autumn held Amy, and looked at the other girl walking away. She looked at Amy. "Amy... You really need to control your temper" She said to the Chespin.
"Chespin? Che chespin? (Temper? What temper?" Amy said. "Chespin pin pin chespin? (What's her problem anyway?)"

"We should probably head back to camp and heal up." Lucky fell into step beside his trainer as Fox walked along the path, headed towards the lake. "But catching a water type would really round out our team. Our first opponent has a growlithe too." The offended bark pulled a hearty laugh from the red head. "Of course you could beat it! But having a water type back up would be nice too you know."

Fox looked down at the pokeball in her hand. "And we need to come up with a name for our new partner. What about..." The button was pressed and the grass type starter was released. "Orchid?" The Chikorita looked up at her with harsh eyes and Fox crouched down. Her bag was pulled off and she pulled a few pokeblocks from a pouch to offer them.

Orchid stared at the open hand for a long moment before using its leaf to scoop one up and eat it. "Orchid it is."

When she looked up again she saw another camp goer walking by. She didn't care for the name but took note of the piplup. "Chikorita vs Piplup, that could be fun to watch."

Amy let out a sigh, because her trainer obviously couldn't understand her, she was a pokemon of course! Autumn looked at the chespin, and placed her onto the ground. She held her pokeball. "Well, before we run into any more rude people who would make you angry... Amy, return." The red light came from the pokeball and sucked Amy in. Autumn put the pokeball in her bag. "Now I just have to find my cabin" She mumbled.
(Do characters share cabins? If so, who would be her cabin mate?)

After some hard training Kioiki returns absol. After that she goes for a walk .
Kioiki : nice place to see .

(For now, I'm gonna keep it as single person cabins but maybe some natural disaster like a Team Flare attack gone wrong and half the cabins burn down or something so they're forced to share.)

Shay smiled widely at her Pokémon after their training.
"Pumpkaboo! You learned a new move, that's amazing! We're definitely using that in our battle agaisnt Aleena!" she told the Pumpkin Pokémon.

"Ug. Listen," Aleena started at her Staryu,"Either you get this move down, or you won't be using any moves. You understand?" The Staryu pointed its top point downward and let out a quiet "Ya."

"Actually.." Autumn said, "There's gonna be a tournament, so I should train."
She looked at the forest. "There's bound to be some wild pokemon in there! Maybe I could catch some." She walked towards the forest, and looked around, suddenly a wild pokemon jumped in front of her - An eevee.
"An eevee!" Autumn exclaimed, her eyes sparkling. "Go! Amy!" She threw the pokeball and the Chespin came out.
"Pin!" Amy landed on the ground, and faced the eevee.
