Author's ramble
With the reveal of footage of Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, I decided to write a mini-fanfic to practise writing. I'm not exactly sure what I'd call it... it's too long to be a drabble, but too short to be a oneshot. It's a... ficlet? Yeah, this fanfic didn't take very long to write. When I write ficlets like this, they're typically mythology-ish. I wrote a similar ficlet that I posted on Chicken Smoothie about Hoennian mythology.

Anyhow, on with the glorified writing practise! (Maybe I'll make a PMD fanfic series one day...)

Far, far away, there is a vast world inhabited only by creatures known as Pokémon. They inhabit every corner of their world, the land, sea, skies and every place within them, and come in many shapes and sizes. Their world is full of strange locations known as mystery dungeons, which change layout whenever they are entered, and are home to hostile Pokémon. No Pokémon knows exactly how they work or where they came from, but appearance of mystery dungeons is usually linked to disasters, natural or supernatural. To these Pokémon, humans are mere myths; most believed they would never see one.

That was, until one day, something extraordinary happened. A confused human from another world arrived in the form of a Pokémon. Some believed that they were crazy, or just joking, but others believed that the human had come to save their world. One curious Pokémon befriended this human, and they set out to discover the truth of their disaster-filled world together.

This is the beginning of many different stories, stories that have been told across the ages, stories which take place across many lands. Stories of heroes who prevented all kinds of disasters, heroes who travelled through time to save the world from eventual darkness, heroes who went beyond infinity…

When will be the next time history repeats itself?
