Suddenly, another pulse of psychic energy was emitted. Gardevoir was closer to it this time, so he felt an overwhelming sensation that he couldn't really describe. He quickly walked over to it and tried to see what had caused it, but, seeing nothing, decided that it must have been coming from something underground. He was surrounded in a veil of pink energy as his Gardevoirite helped him to transform into Mega Gardevoir, and he raised his arms into the air to form a Focus Blast, which he flung into the ground about ten feet away, hoping to open up a passage underground without damaging whatever had made the pulse of energy. Sure enough, a mazelike cave system was sprawled out under the tough, red stone.

"This is incredible! Something down here is alive - and it can speak!" Gardevoir said excitedly. "Where are you? Do you know anything about the weird psychic energy I felt before? Are you the source of it?"
(Even his voice is rather feminine, just so you know, in case you want Yveltal to mention it.)

"My name is Gardevoir, and I'm researching the strange energy in this desert. Did you know that this area seems to have been inhabited by a great civilization? It appears that they were here a few centuries ago, and I think they are connected to the energy," the Embrace Pokémon explained after turning to face Yveltal. "Wait - you're Yveltal, right? Oh, I've heard so much about your species! Is it true that you can live as long as a Ninetales?"

(In-game, it is stated that Yveltal live for one thousand years before sucking in the life force of everything around them, but you can make them immortal in this if you want.)

(I meant more of the "can't die of old age" kind, rather than the "can't die" kind, since I don't really know how anyone could survive... being like Zygarde. ^^')

"I am just a researcher and would appreciate if you helped me in the name of science. Of course, I would be happy to prove my worth to you, and I will happily leave you be if I lose," Gardevoir said cheerfully, though there was a determined glint in his eye.

Gardevoir Mega Evolved once more, and immediately began to shine brightly. Countless bullets of light shot in every direction from him. "Dazzling Gleam!!"

Knowing that Aerial Ace would always hit, Gardevoir braced himself with Protect instead of trying to dodge.

(It always hits as in it never misses, even if your accuracy is reduced or your opponent's evasion is boosted. That doesn't make Protect fail; only a select few moves [namely, Feint, Phantom Force and Shadow Force, though I may be missing a couple] can hit even through Protect. See Bulbapedia, Serebii, or whatever you use for more info.)

Oblivion Wing would also be hard to dodge, so Gardevoir used Flash to lower Yveltal's accuracy, and then Dazzling Gleam to hopefully shield himself from part of the attack by countering it.
