Have you ever just wanted to post a smiley like this one -> >: D (without the space), and not have >:D? Well, this is what I came up with.
(Also to avoid just 'accidental' smileys.) Including the 'Hide my signature for this post' under the 'options' when you make a new post, there could be a 'hide smileys for this post'.
In the PM's, maybe there could be a button/checkbox with 'Hide smileys for this PM'.
And for the PalPad, there could be a button next to 'report' with a smiling face for 'enabled' (as well as if you scrolled over it for a bit, 'enabled' in the hidden message.), and a frowning face for disabled (same as enabled, just saying 'disabled')
The chatroom could also have 'disable smiles next to the music button.

i think a BBcode would be better, incase you want some smileys but some not smileys

I like this idea, I'd use it always because I can't recognize many of the smileys because I'm using an old CRT screen and I can't tell the difference between like -> :) and -> :(.

Plus I don't really like them xD.
