Colin turned around to face Forge, "Nothing." Colin had started walking to camp. "I'm heading to my tent for some sleep, You should do the same. We have a big day, We're saving the exalt!" Colin walked into camp and into his tent, and then went to sleep.

"You do that." muttered Forge, leaning against a tree. He looked up at the stars. He wasn't going to sleep tonight. He thought. Thought until the break of dawn. Thought about the battle. He examined the long cut down his arm. It had stopped bleeding and he had managed to hid it from the rest of the group. Fact was, he had nearly lost his arm as soon as he engaged the army. It had been careless. He knew his 'five seconds' comment had worried Colin. He decided to say that it was alright as nothing had happened to Colin when he woke up.

Colin woke up and looked over to his side, Cordelia was still fast asleep. He slipped out of bed and got dressed for the day then quietly slipped out of the tent and headed for the mess tent to have some breakfast. He entered the mess tent and looked around. It was empty aside from Nowi, who was making breakfast. "Good morning, Colin!" Nowi said from the kitchen part of the tent. "Good morning, How's breakfast duty?" Nowi sighed "Horrible. Do you know how early they wake you up? I usually sleep in SUPER late." Colin then turned his attention to the food. "Whatcha making?" "Flapjacks, or pancakes. Whatever you want to call 'em" "Hmm, Need any help?" She winked at him and said. "Sure!"

(Colin and Nowi reached support level C)

Forge saw Colin go through to the mess tent. He was still standing by the tree. He went inside. "Salute!" he said. "Something smells good. Anyway, Colin, been thinking it through. You know the 'five seconds late' remark. I told you I was serious. I was. But no one got hurt so don't sweat over it, okay?" He said. "Now, where is this strategy meeting you were talking about? And who's on the council?"

Colin was flipping the flapjacks when Forge walked in. "Nowi, can you hold down the fort while I talk to Forge?" She walked over to flip the food. "Yeah, you go talk to your friend." "Thanks Nowi." Colin walked over to Forge. "So. The strategy meeting is right after we get finished eating. The meeting will include Flavia, Basilio, Phila, Chrom, Myself and You if you wish." Colin then heard something outside. Then Nowi said "Flapjacks are done!" She said that right when Chrom and several other shepherds came in. Colin quickly slipped in and got a few flapjacks before everyone got there, Then slipped away to a table to eat.

"I'll be there." said Forge, walking out of the mess. He walked to the top of the hill and surveyed the land. He started working on then binning and then restarting strategies in his head. As he did, he muttered to himself. "They could go to the left flank... no that leaves the main force open to attack... the right flankers could go in to cover while they fall back..." and so on.

Colin finished eating then slipped out the mess and scurried over to the strategy tent. Basilio, Phila, Flavia were already there, So Colin stepped in silently and waited for Chrom and Forge.

Forge swaggered (LIKE A BOSS) walked in and took a seat. "Now to wait for Chrom. Can't rush royalty." he said, tapping his fingers. "You know,I think the Palgarians are expecting us. The defenses have tightened. And before you ask, I am, like, nocturnal. Apart from none of that sleeping at the day stuff either. You can cover a LOT of ground in twelve hours."

Chrom walked in to the tent, Took his seat at the head of the strategy table and then Chrom looked at Colin who began "So, this is the Courtyard." Colin put down a map onto the table.

"We move in from the top left." Colin moved little figurines of most of the shepherds down the path. "We take out some of their main force and aim for their Wyverns." Colin knocked down a few of the Pelgian figures and all of their wyverns. "Then we call in Phi-" "SIR!" A Ferox Spy burst into the tent. "They're executing the Exalt early!" The Spy Claimed. "Blast!" Basilio yelled. Chrom got up fast. "Shepherds!" He shouted. "We march now!" Chrom summoned his creature and Left the tent. Colin mumbled under his breath "I got a bad feeling about this.."
*The shepherds began their march quickly and the were on a dune next to the Castle when they heard gagneal's voice*
"Good people! Warriors of Plegia! Welcome! Welcome, one and all! Your anticipation electrifies the air! We ALL remember the crimes of Ylisse... Would you have their witch-queen answer for them? Here? Today? NOW? YEEEEEEEEEEEES! Finally, we will have JUSTICE! EXECUTIONER! If you would be so kind..." Colin yelled. "Flavia!" "I've got him!" She replied. she threw an axe and it hits the brigand behind Emmeryn and the brigand fell the cliff. "EVERYONE: NOW!" Colin yelled, and the epic battle began.

"Colin! I'm going straight for the main gate! Cover me!" shouted Forge. (Does this game have ANY type of explosives? Like gunpowder?)

Colin took a spear off his back. "Ok!" His spear had a robe tied to the back of it, He threw it and hit a Pelgian in the heart, then Pulled the rope tight, and tripped 5 or 6 more pelgians which the rest of the the Shepherds took care of. Colin then took a two throwing axes of his belt and threw them into the air and killed two wyvern riders. Chrom was busy as well, He had easily killed more then 5 Pelgians. Then he heard someone say something in the distance. "Exalt Emmeryn! No! Gods speed me to her side!" Chrom slashed his way over to see a strange woman fighting off Pelgians. "You there! Who are you? Why do you fight alone?" The person looked at Chrom and said "Good heavens! You're Prince Chrom, brother to Her Grace the Exalt!" Chrom was confused. "You know me?"
"Know you? Of course, sire! All Ylissean clergy do. I must thank the gods for uniting us! Oh, dearest and most heavenly fa—"
"With all respect, now is not the time for prayer—it's action that's called for."
"Ah, too true! We hurried here to help as soon as word came of the execution."
"We? Then there are more of you?"
"Alas, there were. I lost many brave comrades along the way. In truth, I was starting to doubt the purpose of my struggle... But no longer! Pray, sire, let my axe serve you and your party!"
"Your love for my sister is clear. I would be honored to be joined by such a formidable woman of the cloth."
"...Man, sire. Man of the cloth."
"You're a... ...You're not a woman?" Chrom felt most awkward.
"No, sire. Women are clerics. I am a priest. Well, technically a war monk, if you care to split hairs..."
"Oh. Yes, well, I'm... I didn't mean to imply... Well, this is rather awkward."
"Oh, it's all right, sire. You realized your mistake quickly enough. It could have become much more awkward. ...... MUCH more..."
"Right! Let's stop there."
Chrom then got back into the fight, Alongside his new ally.

Forge reached the main gate, which was locked. Out of no where, a fireball came at him. John dived out of the way. The door splintered under the spell. He saw the executioner with his sword raised. Forge swore. He killed a an Pelgian and picked up his sword. He threw it hard. The executioners neck fell to the ground. "Damn, I'm good." Forge muttered. He ran to Exalt's side and pulled her to her feet. He supported her on his shoulder. "CHROM YOU.... WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?" He saw a Peliganian Commander approach. He gentlly set Exalt back down. "I hate my life."He noticed that there was a cut along his neck. He wielded a barbed blade. He started into a sprint. It would be like a bulldozer running over a bush. Forge held up his sword, blade in one hand, grip in the other. The barbed sword met his. He felt the blade cut into his hand. It was too much... the hand would come off soon. Forge slid away his sword and put his shoulder in the way of the strike. It bit in. Deep. He swore. But the effect was as desired. The sword wasn't coming out. Forge flicked his sword to his left hand and struck. The Commander's head rolled to the floor. Forge fell to his knnes. Exalt was where he had left her. The battle seemed to be wrapping up in victory. Forge looked at the sword in his shoulder. He tried to get to his feet but stumbled onto all fours. His eyesight faded. He rested his head against the floor. He heard voices, but they sounded miles away. "Mission Accomplished." he muttered. Then he lay still.

(Knocked out, severely wounded but still alive.)

Aversa (Gangrels 2ic) sneaked up and held a knife to the exalt's neck. "Not so fast." Before Forge could respond. Aversa and Emmeryn were teleported by a Pelgian mage back to the platform. Colin pulled his spear out of a Wyvern rider, Chrom yelled over "Colin! Their wyvern riders have fallen! The skies are clear! I'm giving the signal!" The Pegasus knights flew in and swarmed their troops. "Your Grace!" Philia Lead the Pegasus knights towards the platform but then an arrow hit Phila in the chest and broke right through her armor. Several more arrows killed all the other Pegasus kights be the sheperds could even respond. Colin looked around an army of Risen (Zombies) Had apeared out of nowhere. "Risen... How... Y-Your Grace, I... Forgive me... Uhh..." Cordelia was over by Phila when she let out here final breath. She didn't say anything, just let out a single tear. "No no no..." Colin said, knowing that they couldn't win. "We've lost..." Chrom stated. "I believe this is what they call a reversal of fortunes. Now...grovel before me. Plead! Beg for your worthless lives!" Gangrel yelled from atop the cliff.
"I'd give up my life before I'd beg for it from you."
"Oh, now THAT is a good line. A fitting epitaph for your tombstone, perhaps? But it's not just your life in the balance. The exalt still stands upon the block. And I have a dozen bows trained on her. All it would take is one word from me..."
"Emm! Hold on, I'm—" "ARCHERS! If this Ylissean pup so much as twitches, let fly your arrows!"
"Go ahead! I welcome it. Just know you were responsible for Big Sister's bloody demise! ...And what of the rest of you? Eh? Who wants the honor of killing the exalt? ...No one? Bah! Your merry band isn't quite so headstrong anymore, is it? Pathetic!"
"D*** you!"
"Now, now, my boy—no one needs die today. Not you. Not the exalt. Not your friends. Just lay down your sword, and give me the Fire Emblem."
"...I..."
"Chrom! You can't trust him!" Colin came out and said
Of COURSE I can't trust him! I'm not an idiot! But if I just say no, he'll kill her! The gods are cruel, d*** them! My sister or my duty... A problem with no right answer, yet I must choose!" Chrom was torn.
"That's right. Don't give up! There has to be a way..." Colin was trying to help, but with little success"
"If there is, I can't see it... Ah, gods!"
"I will count to three! Throw down your weapons, or your exalt becomes the world's largest quiver. One! Two! Thr—" Gangrel yelled.
"Gangrel, hold! ...You win. Everyone, lay down yo—"
"No, wait!" Emmeryn yelled from her platfrom.
"SILENCE!" Gangrel yelled. "Emm..." Chrom mumbled quietly. "King Gangrel, is there no hope you will listen to reason?" She said, sounding so wise. "You mean listen to more of your sanctimonious babble?! I think not. No, all I want to hear now is the THUNK of arrows, and a SPLAT as you hit the ground. Take one, long, last look from your perch. You do so enjoy looking down on people... Then prepare to meet the ground, and your maker! That is, unless someone were to give me the Emblem... NOW!" Gangrel was sounding mad. Chrom turned to face Gangrel. "ALL RIGHT! All right... Emm, I know you won't approve, but this is my final decision. MAYBE someday we'll face a crisis where MAYBE the Emblem would've helped... But I know for a fact that Ylisse needs you, today! The people need their exalt... And we need our sister. If those dark days should come, we'll face them together." Emmeryn closed her eyes. "Chrom... Th-thank you. I know now what I must do..."
"Emm, what are you—"
"Plegians! I ask that you hear the truth of my words! War will win you nothing but sadness and pain, both inside your borders and out. Free yourselves from this hatred! From this cycle of pain and vengeance. Do what you must... As I will do. See now that one selfless act has the power to change the world!"
"Emm, no! No!"

(Cutscene)

Colin stood awestruck "Oh gods..." Chrom was still on his knees, but slowly got up "D*** YOU, GANGREL!" Lissa had here head in her hands "NOOOOOO!" Colin couldn't belive what he just witnessed.

(Problems with YouTube, did Chrom's sister die? Or Grangel?)

Forge was aware of shouting. He heard a swear word repeated several times. The sword was still in his arm. He got onto all fours. "Colin... Chrom...my strength leaves me... I am blind... my eyes do not open... my ears do not hear... if I am to die... leave me here... if I am to live... I shall find my own way out of this place... bury the dead... honor the living... never forget... (if Grangel died, ignore this bit) and on my behalf, if I die..." he stopped and spat blood. "kill that son-of-a-@#$*% Grangel..." He lay still. "Kill him." he repeated. "Kill him for the sake of all that is pure. Kill him." He then collapsed and lay spread-eagle, not seeming to breathe.

(Deciding if he dies. Assume he lives until then.)

(Emmeryn did, she jumped so chrom wouldn't choose.)

"Lissa!" Chrom yelled, then she immediately ran over to forge and she pulled the sword out of Forge's arm, Then ran her staff over him, healing up his wounds. "Bwa ha ha haa! Well now! ...How disgustingly noble. And so lovely a fall! Here I thought death to be an ugly thing. I've never seen one fall so gracefully, in fact. ...And I've seen many fall. Ah... So ends Emmeryn, Ylisse's most exalted! But how can we ensure everyone remembers this beautiful moment of her sacrifice? Perhaps we should gather up her body and put it on display! Bwa ha ha..." Chrom face was red with anger. "Gangrel! You die today!" Basilio and Flavia came in and held back Chrom. "No, boy! I secured and escape route! We have to flee!" Basilio shouted.
"B-but...her body... I have to..."
"You have to RUN! Now do it! Colin! Don't let him do anything stupid!"
"Chrom, Forge is dying." Colin look over to forge, who was unconscious with Lissa healing him. "We have to retreat, If we wish to not lose more friends today!"
"Fine. Shepards! Retreat!" Cavalier Sully picked up Forge and they all retreated from the castle to the Midmire.

"I was stupid." said Forge. "I endangered the entire mission. I caused Chrom's sister to..." he gulped. "I don't deserve to be alive. I should have taken that sword out of my arm and run that b@!#$%d through, if it was the last thing I did." He stared blankly. "How many friends have died under my command? How many more will? I lost friends, family... but I have never failed..." He shook his head. "I do not deserve to be a Shepard." he hung his head in shame.

Colin walked up. "It wasn't your fault." he said plainly. Chrom walked up aswell. "It was mine. I acted like a careless-" "Milord!" Fredrick rushed in with a shocked look on his face. "What is it Fredrick." Chrom responded.
"I've a report from Khan Flavia. The Plegian army is in disarray."
"How do you mean?"
"It seems many of their soldiers are opposed to further violence. There has been infighting, desertion... Gangrel is trying to stamp out the mutiny by force, but with little success. Outside of a few faithful who serve him directly, his army has all but collapsed."
"This is incredible news. But why...? ...Emmeryn."
"Yes, milord. Emmeryn. The report says Gangrel's men chant her name as they abandon the field. Her words, and her sacrifice, have made her a folk hero of sorts."
"Emmeryn... Why did it take me so long to understand? She believed all people desire peace. She knew, deep down, the Plegians wanted it, too. It just took her to bring it to the surface."
Colin smiled at this.
"I hope she can see this, wherever she is... Colin, Fredrick. Gather the shepards. Today we put an end to Mad King Gangrel and bring peace back to the land."

"What shall I do? I am in no position to fight, yet I shall die if I have no part in this." said Forge, gesturing to his wounded right arm. "You know me. I'm not the type to lie in bed and watch. And Chrom, I have not yet said this, I am sorry for your loss. As it was, I'm afraid that Colin is right. There was nothing I could do."

Colin wondered what Forge could do... He couldn't wield a sword with his arm, He can't use magic... "Milord, the shepherds have assembled and they are ready to march." Fredrick walked in. "Good job, I'll be there in a second." Colin walked away and Chrom said to Forge, "Come along, I'm sure we could find a use for you."

*Meanwhile*

"Cordelia." Colin walked up to her, while she was getting a lance from the armory. "Oh, Hey Colin." Colin looked around. "So, why are you here?" Colin asked, trying to sound polite. "Well, my lance broke in the last fight, and Basilio said I could get a new one from here." Colin picked one up and tilted it. "Hmm, these don't seem to be properly balanced to be thrown." Colin smirked a little. "But that one over there looks good." Cordelia looked up from the lance she was studying and fell right into Colin's trap and they kissed, Right as Fredrick came in. "Colin, Milord wo-" Fredrick's eyes opened wide is shock, when Colin turned to look at him. "FREDRICK!" "Milord would like you to hurry it up." Colin sighed, then turned to Cordelia. "We should get going, we have Pegasus knights and an exalt to avenge!"

"Ahhh... to hell with it. I'm sure with my level of bossiness, I can do some damage with the other hand." Forge joked. He picked up his sword with his left hand. It was unstable at first, but eventually balanced. "I should be come crack-handed." he sighed and took a dagger instead. "Never take a knife to a sword fight. Breaking my own rules." he muttered. "I'm as ready as I'll ever be." he told anyone listening. "But always welcome to the other use that Chrom mentioned."
