Alice nodded "Well, not really he is from kanto-"
"Kanto wow!" He said
"Now, he just needs an upgrade on his pokedex." Alice said.
"How about a dex nav?" The boy said.
"He doesn't have one." Alice said
"What?!?! He doesn't have one!?!?" He said
"Calm down, we need to see your father" Alice said.
"Okay" he signed "follow me"

(Yes. There are a lot of girls so I had to do that to even them out.)
"Torchic" Torchic said running to catch up to Brandon. There was a small table with on poke ball on it and behind it was a working professor.
"Professor Birch, we have someone that needs to upgrade his pokedex" Brandon said.
The professor turned around and looked at Tim "well hello there young lad!" He said "your the one that needs an upgrade?"

Professor Birch turned around again and did some tweaks on it plus updated the pokedex. He finished and gave the pokedex to Tim "there you go. I added new features to it too."

"Yes. There are three starters that you have to choose one unless you have a pokemon given from a friend or parent. Fire, water, grass, and in kanto, electric. Torchic, is the fire type starter that Brandon has. Treekco, is the grass type starter that I have. Mudkip, is the water type starter that no one has." Alice said.
