The air was cold and the wind was howling. Hank was an average man. His family needed some batteries, so he was just running out to the store to get some. Today, instead of taking the car, he decided to walk. He strolled down the icy sidewalks, cold air nipping at his nose and his scarf blowing in the wind. Whistling a song, Hank continued mindlessly walking about. When he turned down that dark corner, he quickly covered his face so he wouldn't get cold. He was about to continue walking when he heard a strange noise. A shadow swept by above him. His head flicked upwards. Something was in front of him. His wide eyes turned in front of him. A noise came from behind him. But he wasn't fast enough. With unimaginable speed, a ghastly shadow had sprang up to his face, the only thing he saw was a large pair of fangs before he was killed.

A deer bent down to drink water from the pond. Within seconds, it lay flat on the ground, dead. Dawn walked forward and pulled the arrow from the animal's neck. Picking up her kill, she walked back to her cottage. Laying the fresh meat on the wooden table, she pulled out a knife and skinned the animal. She was just about to begin decapitating it when she received a knock on the door. Pulling open the wooden door, she cocked her head at the two men wearing armor that stood in front of her.
"What? Is it Halloween already? Or are you my knights in shining armor? Either way, get the bloody guts of my face."
Just as she was about to slam the door in the stranger's faces, one of them reached their hand out and stopped it from shutting. She narrowed her eyes.
"What are you, ninjas in tin foil?"
Then the second man put his hand over her mouth and the other man grabbed her. She tried to scream, but no sound that would be loud enough to alert someone made it past the thick gloves covering her mouth. Kicking and wiggling about, Dawn tried to freed herself, but the men kept a tight grip. Dawn stopped struggling, and the two men slightly loosened their grip. She used that moment to her advantage, and broke free of the grasp. The two men turned their heads around to see Dawn smiling, free.
"Hah! Take that!"
One ran over, placing one large hand on her head to pull it back, and the other one on her stomach, making so she couldn't move. The other man grabbed a sword and slammed the hilt down on the girl's head. Head throbbing with pain, she fainted, and they carried her off.
