Being as old as they are, I think we all know the Pokémon games have accumulated a good amount of myths/legends about them. What are your favorites?

For me, the first myth I encountered was the Space Station countdown myth in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. (Or is it just Emerald? I can't remember.) So that's one of my favorites. I've been a Pokémon fan since it's very beginning in the US, but didn't get into the games until the third gen. My first game was Sapphire, then Emerald, so I missed out on Pikablu, Mew under the truck, and all those other classics, but I made it just in time for that Space Station myth. You know, the one where if you talk to the guy at the 100th rocket countdown, you'll be able to go into space and catch Jirachi or Deoxys (can't remember which).

I fell for that hook, line, and sinker. xD I didn't really try too hard to get it to work, but I believed it, lol. I also fell for the similar myth...Use Wish in front of the white rock in front of the station, and you'll be able to get Jirachi, or something like that. I remember going through the trouble of catching a Natu, evolving it, then getting that Xatu to learn wish. xD

I haven't been in the Pokemon community for that long(my first game was Platinum), but one of the first myths I heard about was the one from the Sinnoh library about pokemon and humans being descended from the same thing and going down different evolution paths, explaining Gallade, Jynx, and other humanoid pokemon.
[right]did you know? metagross looks like a digimon.

Really? A book in the library says that? O.o Well, I guess it's no different than saying that Mew is the ancestor of all Pokémon.

I thought you could find Charmander in platinum if you give a pokemon a burn heal and run in the grass infront of Floraoma town.

The whole Glitch City thing. I don't know if this counts, but the creepypasta "It was Mew" was actually pretty good. (My favorite non-Pokemon myth: BEN!)

I also thought that Eevee evolved into Leafeon with a leaf stone for the LONGEST. FREAKING. TIME. Then I met Bulbapedia.

Omg, it took me a REALLY long time to figure out that the Hoenn Space Center Myth was actually a myth. I never made it to 100 launches, though, but after I found out it was a myth, I've always wondered what the point of the amount of rocket lauches was and it always seems to vary in between each individual game. Like, my friend's game made it to 500 rocket launches when they only had the game for a month (this was a long time ago).

Not really a myth, but anyway, I didn't realize that Nidorino/Nidorina evolved with Moon Stones until today >_<
