"B-be careful!" Serenity called out. "Hey let me join in too!" The
teenage girl shouted, lifting a pokéball into the air. Suddenly a
strange new voice was heard. "Benjamin! Christy! Where are you?"
The voice sounded worried. "Combusken, return!" The boy said.
"We're coming mother!" He shouted running off, his sister
following. "T-thank goodness, they're gone! I hate fire-type
pokémon!" Serenity sighed, shivering.
Phoenix nodded, but look towards where the humans ran off to. "They
went that way... There might be a warm place we can rest at over
there... Wanna check it out? If we get into trouble I will protect
us." She smiled at Serenity
"I guess… it seems a little dangerous, but I'm too cold right now
to care!" Serenity laughed. She was glad that she finally found a
true friend, but one question lingered in her mind like a ghost.
What if I run into him while going on this journey? It's
bound to happen, but when?
Phoenix smiled and hugged her before the two of the began walking.
"Don't worry, like I said I will protect you till you regain your
strength and get stronger." She walked slightly ahead of her and
followed the sounds to where the humans ran off to.
Serenity smiled gratefully at Phoenix and followed her. As they
walked the hailed only got harder and harder, and the winter night
air got colder and colder. "Ugh, I feel like the whole world is
going to freeze! Is it up always like this here in Hoenn?" She
questioned.
Phoenix shrugged a bit. "Honestly, I am not really sure... it was
always warm from where I came from..." She said then sped up. There
was a clearing ahead and she stopped on its edge.
Phoenix looked harder, spotting the lights. "I think so... it might
be a house... I bet it will be warm near there..." She said before
heading into the clearing. She continued to look around incase they
were attacked again.
Serenity slowly followed behind her. "I hope that the people in
that house are nice and don't have any fire-types!" Serenity
giggled, but scowled at the part about fire-types. Suddenly,
lightning flashed across the sky and the thunder boomed through the
forest. "Oh great, now it's raining AND hailing!" Serenity moaned,
walking faster.
"The two humans we met so far were kind hearted." Phoenix said. "If
they aren't, we will leave. And if they do, I will protect you."
Phoenix said smiling. She giggled a bit at Serenity's complaining
about the weather.
"Okay!" She beamed. "STUPID CLOUDS, WHY DONT YOU JUST LEAVE
ALREADY?!" She growled angrily. She quickened her pace even more,
then slipped on the wet grass and fell. "Hehe, clumsy me!" She
laughed, her face turning red from embarrassment.
Phoenix looked at her and giggled again, and walked right into a
part of the house, falling on her back. "Oops..." She said, trying
to get back on her feet. "Um... little help here..." She asked,
blushing.
Serenity got up, but was immediately back down on the ground, this
time because of laughter. "S-sorry!! J-just- hahaha!!-okay I think
I'm good." She said, a grin still on her face. She then went and
helped Phoenix up. 'There you go. Sorry about laughing at you a few
minutes ago." Serenity said.
Phoenix smiled once she was back up. "It's ok." She looked back at
the house. "So now that we are here, we should find a warm spot...
There might be a porch or something..." She said looking around.
"How about up here!" Serenity called from a soft plush chair on the
porch just around the corner from where Phoenix was. "It's nice a
comfy!" She smiled as she curled up and immediately fell asleep
without waiting for a response from Phoenix.
Serenity tossed and turned in her sleep. "No, please no..." She
muttered in her sleep, "don't- don't leave me..." She'd began to
shift even more, unable to awake from the nightmare.
