"I cant wait until I'm a warrior," Hopepaw muttered to herself,
watching Nightstorm hoping it wasn't too obvious she was staring at
him. She snapped back to the present as she was prodded. "What do
you wa- Oh, its you Cloudpaw," Hopepaw greeting her brother.
"Hello," he replied simply.
"Do you want a v-" Cloudpaw began. "No! I wasn't staring at
Nightstorm, I swear!" Hopepaw blurted out before realizing what
Cloudpaw was saying. "I mean, yes, voles are good." she quickly
corrected. "Mousebrain," Cloudpaw muttered as he grabbed a vole off
of the fresh-kill pile.
Lilystorm wanders around the camp a bit, just to make sure everyone
was alright and if there was something she could actually do, since
she wasn't hungry after all. (I don't even know I'm sorry...I
create little crappy replies when I am half asleep...I'll try to do
better... DX)
Silverbreeze heard forced wailing coming from the direction of the
camp entrance. "I don't feel good! The berries looked and tasted
good but now I feel like I ate crow food!" the voice wailed before
abruptly stopping, punctuated with a small thump.
Silverbreeze hurried out to see Goosekit laying on the ground with
Dustkit prodding him with a small paw. "Goosekit wont answer me
now! He was complaining just a second ago!" the little she-kit
wailed. "He insisted on trying the berries first!" Silverbreeze
nudged the kit aside as Rabbitpelt ran out of the nursery. "Where
were you? What happened to Goosekit?" the queen exclaimed. "I'll
take care of Goosekit, watch Dustkit." Silverbreeze replied
briskly, picking up the shallowly breathing, limp body in her jaws
and walked quickly to the medicine den. "Cloudpaw! Get over here!"
she called out through the limp bundle of fur in her jaws.
Silverbreeze grabbed a clump of thyme out of the stores. "Give this
is Rabbitpelt. Goosekit got ahold of some Deathberries," she
replied to Lilystorm. "And try to keep her calm and reassured."
Silverbreeze got the yarrow out of the herb store and placed it
next to Goosekit. She pried open his jaws and carefully scooped out
remains of the berries on a small pad of moss. She put the yarrow
in his jaws and he managed to chew and swallow. After a moment
Goosekit vomited on the pad of moss as well, a large amount of
partially-digested berries and a bit of mouse on the moss. "Do you
feel any better?" Goosekit nodded weakly as Silverbreeze placed him
in a nest as Cloudpaw cleaned up the mess. She gave the kit a
poppyseed as he drifted off to sleep.
The kit's ragged breathing echoed through the den as Silverbreeze
dragged her nest closer to Goosekit's. "Cloudpaw, tell Lilystorm it
would help Rabbitpelt if she would stay in the nursery with her
tonight." She glanced at the setting sun outside as cats headed
into their dens. Cloudpaw nodded and briskly walked to the nursery.
