As soon as the deputy turned to face the two, Wishpaw piped up. "I'd rather tend to the elders than go on a patrol wi-" "I think that Wishpaw and I would love to join you this patrol." The white-furred tom cut his apprentice off, much to her annoyance. "Is that so? She's probably eager because she'll be a warrior soon."
The two ignored her blatant protesting and scanned the clearing for anyone else that would be willing to join the patrol. "Stonepelt is usually eager, maybe we should invite the brothers?" The warrior pondered out loud, glancing towards his thick-furred companion. "I don't see why not. Although unfocus your right eye, you're gonna scare the poor thing." The deputy murmured into the other male's ear before padding towards the brothers-the two close behind him.
"Stonepelt, Whiteheart!" He called to them, before approaching the two. "Sorry for being so sudden about this but do you to mind joining our patrol?" He asked, ignoring Wishpaw's continued complaints. "What's that, Wishpaw? You're eager to start already?" Snowfall asked in a slightly louder voice than usual, much to her utter disbelief. Her fur fluffed up in anger, opting to grumble instead.
The she-cat led her patrol out of camp. "Remember, we're a border patrol. We can hunt if need be." She flicked her blue-grey tail to signal for her patrol to follow. "We're going on the old SunClan border. We need to keep those mangy rogues out."
"Like how you need to keep me out of the medicine den?"
"Precisely, Skyfall." The she-cat continued on with Skyfall bounding behind. "Careful, or you'll scare Yellowsting's patrol's prey off."
"Sorry, Lunarstar."
The duo stopped at the border. A dark grey and white she-cat was leaving the barn, alone. The barn where the rogues lived was close to the border, so they were able to identify the appearance. "Nighttail?" Lunarstar breathed out, bounding across.
"Lunarstar- Shh! You'll wake them up and you'll be outnumbered!" the dark-furred cat hissed. Her gaze turned to the small tom behind Lunarstar. "And you must be...?"
"Skyfall, Lunarstar's kit."

Icepaw deposited the dirty moss outside camp before walking back into camp. She then looked over to Frostpool's den and decided to ask the medicine cat if she needed any help. "Frostpool?" She mewled as she padded over.

The tom-cat heard Icepaw mewl his name. "What do you want?" he demanded, still sorting the herbs. Honestly, he can't be left alone for one moment. He dug his claws into the muddy earth below him, careful to avoid his precious stocks of herbs. The tabby cat sheathed his claws and went back to sorting the herbs. "If you could tell me, that would be great." He glared at the Apprentice, obviously annoyed with being bothered today.

The caution-loving Warrior decided to go check on his grandfather, Jaggedtooth. "Hello, Grandfather," the tom meowed. Jaggedtooth flicked his ear in acknowledgement. "Skyfall is always trying to get us into trouble, and I'm sick of it. Do you have any advice?"
"Tell him that he should stop being the troublesome young tom that he is. You've matured, so why shouldn't he? Tell him when you get a chance, Rainrock."
"Thank you, Jaggedtooth."
Dovestripe picked up a vole from the fresh-kill pile and padded towards the Medicine Cat's Den. Upon his arrival, he noted that his brother wasn't alone. Setting down the vole, he spoke up. "Hey Frostpool! l Is now a bad time? I just wanted to check up on you and make sure you're eating alright." He said, partially telling the truth. It's been a whole day since he's last visited his brother, but he wanted to have a chat with the medicine cat...alone.
The tom looked up from his sorting, surprised. "I thought you were tired of me," Frostpool meowed, ears flicking back. "And I had a starling earlier. Lunarstar practically forced me to eat it.. Not that it'd be important if I disappear." Ah yes, how Frostpool hated his insecurities. But he couldn't help but feel the way he did.
He went back to sorting his herbs. "I'll have to ask Yellowsting to arrange a patrol to help me gather more marigold.. And juniper berries, I suppose," he murmured to himself. When he saw that Dovestripe hadn't left, he flicked an ear irritably. "It's obvious you want something."

Night(tail) bounded over the border, smiling happily. "It really is you," the blue-grey she-cat mewed happily. She nuzzled her sister happily. "I thought you died in the rockslide. If I knew you'd gotten out-"
"The rogues treat me fairly well.. Not as well as here in the Clan. I'd love to rejoin you, but they'd be so mad with me.. And I assume Frostpool has taken post as the Medicine Cat?"
"You've missed so much, sister. Jaggedtooth will be so happy to see you!" As the two she-cats chatted, Skyfall's pelt burned with embarrassment. He was finally meeting his aunt, but he hadn't expected it to go this way.
"Of course not! And I'm glad to hear it." His ears were pinned back, but he forced himself to relax. "Listen...I-I was gonna talk to you about something else," Dovestripe started, swallowing harshly. "but it seems like you have some.. issues of your own." He didn't know exactly how close he was to his brother. Don't get the Tom wrong-he loves Frostpool a lot but it always seems that the warrior irritated him. The conversation he was about to start might've destroyed whatever relationship he might've had with him, but he was aware enough to realize that now wasn't the time.
The tom flicked his tail. "All cats have issues of their own. Not like I'm any different," he meowed in a half-joking tone. Maybe Frostpool is feeling off, but he really misses his brother and all the time they spent together as Apprentices. Before Frostpaw - at the time - decided he wanted to be a Medicine Cat. Nighttail and Meadowflight taught him well, but both were gone. He had to isolate himself to work, for the good of his Clan!
"Dovestripe, I really miss spending time with you. It's just- with Nighttail and Meadowflight dead, I have to do this. I'm sorry, I really am. I want to distance myself so that no one feels as guilty if I died. I just want to be seen as a respected Medicine Cat and not someone who you'd grieve over for your whole life.." Frostpool immediately regretted what he said, but what else would he have said? Should he have lied?
Icepaw placed the stale moss outside camp, and sighed. "Why do I try and ask to help Frostpool...it's not like I was asking him to be my mentor" she meowed, and froze. She looked back to camp, and sighed "though...being a medicine cat sound way more fun than a warrior. I could help my clanmates, and see them be happy...but I can't even get past Frostpool when he's in a grumpy mood" she sighed lowly, and drew her ears back. She then grabbed a bunch of clean moss off a tree, and began to drag it into camp. "At least I can be useful" she mumbled to herself through a mouthful of moss.
Tigerpelt glanced at Nighttail, and nodded a greeting. She glanced at Skyfall slightly, and blinked. So will Nighttail be welcomed back into the clan? she thought to herself. She then heard Flamepaw speak up, and she couldn't stop the apprentice before he spoke. "Is she going to join the clan, Lunastar?" he meowed lowly he was half confused at the new cat, and half unsure. Tigerpelt then shot Flamepaw a warning glance.
Dovestripe was at a loss for words. Nothing made sense to him; why would his own brother try an isolate himself from him. Yes, it was true that they haven't been spending as much time as he would like, but that didn't mean he had to do all of this. He didn't like to pity others-that's not what he does, so the sinking feeling in his stomach turned into seething rage. This wasn't fair. Yellowsting grieved a lot at first, but he got over Nighttail and everyone knew that they had massive crushes on each other. Why should his brother try and distance himself? His head was reeling and it was getting hard to breathe when all of the sudden he just snapped.
"You're trying to do what? That's the most mouse-brained idea I've ever heard! A respected medicine cat? If you keep on trying to act all fox-hearted like this all of the sudden then maybe the others would want to avoid you on their own. You don't just not be close to your clan, but hey-Frostpool always knows better than me, right? Because apparently this means that I should just stop visiting you entirely." At this point he was yelling, fangs bared and not caring about who hears him. He knew this wasn't fair-Frostpool was doing this for them after all, but this didn't mean he was happy about it. He didn't want to hear what Frostpool had to say-if he tried to apologize he would actually try and fight his brother. He turned tail and stalked off into the forest, glaring at anyone that got in his way.
He didn't want to deal with anything right now.
The tom had snapped. "Fine then! I didn't need your care anyway!" he screeched, unsheathing his claws and swiping at the air. He whipped his tail, stirring up his piles of herbs. He drew his lips into a snarl as Jaggedtooth and Rainrock wandered to the den. Rainrock's grandfather was pressed against the younger tom's side since he was blind.
"Can I help you?" he hissed, turning around to sort his herbs once more.
"We heard you shout so we came to investigate," Jaggedtooth said coolly. Rainrock nodded, staring at his own fidgeting paws. "If you need to talk, remember. I'll be here for a while." The blind tabby tom grinned at the younger medicine cat, who rolled his eyes.
"I don't need to talk. Leave me alone now."
"Jaggedtooth, I trust you can get back to the den? I will talk with Fr-"
"What part of 'Leave me alone now' do you not understand?"
skyfall
The dark she-cat padded to the patrol, dipping her head. Skyfall wasn't paying much attention, but when he saw the patrol leaving, he squeaked and dashed to catch up. He heard snippets of Lunarstar and Night's conversation, but didn't pay much mind. The tom's ears were flattened back in embarrassment, and it was obvious he didn't think he should be here.
Lunarstar was affectionate and warm with the unfamiliar she-cat. It was so strange. He knew they were sisters, but even after this long.. Why were they acting so kind? Why wasn't Lunarstar being aggressive and questioning like she would've been?

"Fine, if you won't leave what is it?" the tom asked. He took a sharp breath when he saw a couple deathberries roll to his paws. Frostpool looked at Rainrock, who had an eerily calm expression. "Where'd you get these? I thought that we destroyed every deathberry plant.."
"In our territory," Rainrock finished. "But I knew where to find them. And now, I know what you want. You want to be forgotten and dead don't you. Don't you Frostpool?"
"No matter how I feel, I am a Medicine Cat. I have a duty to my Clan!"
"You said you wanted to die, right? Right, Frostpool?"
"Please, Rainrock. You don't need-"
"Eat the deathberries, and no one else will need to be hurt."
"...Fine. I will eat them, but the Clan will find out about what you've done."
"But who would believe I killed you?"
