"Willow, Leafage!" Vero shouted. The Rowlet cooed and shot leaves at the bug Pokemon. It was a direct hit. The Grubbin used Vice Grip and it, too, was a direct hit.

"Willow, use Growl, follow up with Tackle!" Growl hit, sure, but Tackle was a miss. The Grubbin dodged out of the way and used String Shot. Willow was slowed down.

"Don't worry, Willow. Use Tackle once more!" The Grubbin followed with another String Shot. "Go, Poke Ball!" Vero threw the Pokeball and the Grubbin was put inside. Shook once... Twice... Three times... It broke out.

"So close! Willow, dodge Vice Grip! Go Pokeball!" This time the Grubbin was caught.

"I'll call you... Bolt. Welcome to the team, Bolt."

He looked at the badge. He walked to the pokemon center and healed his pokemon. He then walked back to the gym

Dea walked to the pokemon center after she realized night has arrived. She asked for a room in the pokemon center and took the keys from Nurse Joy. SHe entered her room and let all her pokemon out of her pokeball while preparing a strategy to battle the gym tomorrow.

After Kira went to heal his pokemon, he walked out with Benny from the pokécenter towards the others that were training to train a bit too

Vero sent out his Grubbin, grinning happily. "Alright, Willow, Bolt, we need a strategy for the gym. We've got a bad weakness to- H-Hey!" A Rockruff appeared suddenly and knocked Vero over. It took his scarf and started to run away. It was intercepted by a furious Willow and a bored Bolt.

The two Pokemon belonging to Vero chattered and growled to the Rock-type. The Rockruff nodded in understanding. He returned the scarf to Vero and suddenly dug around in Vero's bag. "Hey buddy what're you- Huh?" The Rockruff poked a Pokeball with his nose and barked happily as he was pulled inside.

The Rockruff didn't break out. "Can I call you Agate?" Vero asked as he sent out the Rockruff to pat his head. He barked happily, nuzzling his new trainer's hand.

As Benny walked out of the Poké Center he spotted Ivan. He ran over to him, and paused trying to catch his breath. "Hey! Sorry I left you...Ready to do that battle?"

(Some of us are using Pokémon Showdown, X, when doing battles against each other and with gym leaders. Pal pad me your usernames if you want to too.)

During the battle, Ryan transformed. He was able to sweep Benny's Rockruff really easily.

"Great! Nice battle, man!" Ivan said, going to the Pokcenter with the fainted Pikipek and Ryan.

Agate, Willow, and Bolt stared excitedly at their strategizing trainer. Vero was explaining their strategy for how to defeat the first gym, which the leader of was a Fire-type user. He explained how Bolt would go for Mud-Slap when possible and how Agate would be the main Pokemon to keep standing.

"Alright guys. Ready for some serious training?" Vero asked. His team agreed with barks, coos, and whatever noise Grubbins make.

Throughout training, Vero's Pokemon learned new moves. Willow learned Astonish after some excited Pecks learned at level 8. Willow was at level 14 now.

Bolt learned Bug Bite and was at level 13.

Agate learned Howl and was also at level 13.

"I hope we're ready for this," Vero whispered, picking up Agate and playing with the Rockruff's head fur.

@ everyone who does furious training at the beginning of the game

"Yeah!" Benny said, walking with him to the Pokécenter. "So what's up with your Froakie?" Benny suddenly asked curious.

Embercil waited impatiently for the next challanger. "Where are they!" She growled at her little sister, Feuher. "How should I know!" She answered, annoyed.

"I dunno...that jus happens every time he beats a Pokemon. I-" Ivan gets interrupted by Danny doing an alarm sound.

"EMBERCIL HAS NO MORE CHALLENGERS LEFT! ITS YOUR TURN!" He yelled. Ivan quickly got his Pokemon back, and runned after the gym.

After entering it, he jumped over the rocks, carefull not to fall into the lava, until he reached Embercil.

"Don't forget. Bolt, you're up first. You need to use all the Mud-Slaps you can to knock down the accuracy. If you faint, Willow will take over. Astonish for the flinch chances. And after she's down, it's all up to you Agate."

The three Pokemon grunted in agreement and nodded. "I have faith in you guys. Do your best. Let's go get some potions and stuff." Vero stood up and picked up the slow-dashing Grubbin, Bolt. "C'mon bud."

"Finally!" Embercil gasped. She pushed Feuher to the side and cracked her knuckles. "That hurt! I'm gonna tell mama!" Feuher whined and ran off. "Are you ready?" Embercil asked Ivan. "Pansear, come out...."

IRyan stole Embercil's badge for Ivan, and dropped it inside his bag.

Ivan got out his badge case, and it was there. "Well, that wasn't quite easy!"

Embercil called back the fainted Torkoal. She opened her mouth, but nothing came out. She slumped into a chair. "Here take this Ignite Badge!" She mumbled handing it to Ivan, but his Froakie already took one. Embercil just glared at him, not making any remark to his comment.

Feuher giggled in the corner as she watched her sister get defeated. "Wow sis! You've lost 4 battles!" She said, teasing her. "Oh be quiet!" Embercil snapped. "It's not my fault I was chosen as the first one so I have weaker pokémon."


Benny met Ivan outside of the gym doors. "So you won!" He exclaimed.

Vero had passed by Benny and Ivan on his way into the gym. "Uh, are there any challengers I have to wait on?" he called to the gym leader. Willow and Agate were chattering nervously to each other while Bolt shuddered in his trainer's arms. "Guys, it'll be okay," Vero whispered to his team whilst waiting.

"No!" Embercil sighed, twirling her flaming red curls with her finger.

"Why not?" Benny asked. "You have a Water type pokémon."
