Title: Where Sky Gifts Come FromSo, do you guys know where Sky Gifts come from? It's legend that the first Sky Gifts were not given with gratitude. A evil Rhydon, denizen of a far-away kingdom, gathered many Pokémon slaves to hunt for these wondrous gifts. His greed and terrible selfishness only caused these gifts to worsen with each time he received one. Conflicted and confused, he continued to take away all the gifts, making sure no one would ever lay a paw on 'his' gifts. Then one day, two loving Pokémon—a Beautifly and a Dustox—decided to break the one rule of the Rhydon's kingdom: to never open one of these Sky Gifts. They both exchanged these gifts to each other before slowly opening the lid. A warm, fuzzy sensation overcame both of them as they both pulled out matching necklaces. They both put these gifts on one another before embracing each other with a hug. But news traveled quickly. The selfish king, Rhydon, heard of their terrible act of treason against him. He sent flocking amount of guards to capture these two law-breaking bugs. But, before they could charge towards them, a Shaymin, cloaked in a heavenly light, flew in to stop the king. The Shaymin commanded that the king should cease his hasty actions and watch with his own eyes the gratitude the Dustox and Beautifly shared with each other. In return, the Shaymin promised that he would present the Rhydon with the greatest gift he had in stow. Being the selfish king he was, he accepted without a second thought. And so, the king commanded that the two should come to his quarters. Both cowered in fear as they found themselves at the king's feet. As they waited for their ultimate demise, the king assigned them both the proud honor of being his personal servants. To the shock of the Rhydon, the Beautifly and Dustox both thanked him for this opportunity before they were sent on their way. As they continued the awful torture of the many chores in cheery ways, the king became more irritated each day. The more work he thrust at them, the less they seemed unaffected. The king could not comprehend any reason as to why these two would be so proud of going through such punishment. He invited many to give him guidance and to give him a reason, but none could give the Rhydon the answer he wanted. His anger grew to rage as he watched these two bugs surpassing all his workers until one day, an extravagant idea appeared in his mind. As the two gathered together in front of the king, he demanded that they should remove the necklaces they wore around their necks. They both retorted, going against his wishes, before the Rhydon threatened them to the dungeon. Hesitantly, they both removed their precious gifts and gave them to the king. The king, grinning at the two shining parcels, smashed the necklaces in front of their eyes. They both gasped in horror before the king sentenced the Dustox to the dungeon, while the Beautifly was commanded to carry out her duties. The days carried onwards as he continued watching the Beautifly work in her despair. The Rhydon felt pleased with himself for the first few days, but soon it grew to bitter guilt. He slumped in his throne, not even bothering to open any of the Sky Gifts he received from the slaves. He stowed each gift to a secret room, not wishing to look at the greed he has felt before. After two weeks passed by, a more generous idea came to his mind. He pushed it away, knowing that the gifts were nothing, but it continued to pound at his head, thrilling him with the idea to feel happiness once more. The king commanded that the two Pokémon—Dustox and Beautifly—should return to his quarters. At the first instance, they both embraced each other in a hug once more. The Rhydon commanded that each of them should accept two Sky Gifts as an apology for his irrational actions. As they both lifted the lid, a warm, fuzzy feeling came upon them as they pulled out those same necklaces that the king had smash before. They cheered in delight before the Beautifly presented a gift to the Rhydon. The Rhydon, conflicted with his past transgressions, first denied the gift, but the Beautifly did not back down. After a few moment of persuasion, the king finally accepted the gift. As he opened it, a strange feeling arose in his chest; a feeling that he has long since forgotten. As he opened the gift, his eyes watered as he pulled out a small top. It seemed insignificant and useless, but the king delighted in his new-found gift. Then a revelation hit him; those that give the Sky Gift with a heart of gratitude will receive a treasure for life. He called all his slaves together to celebrate in his momentous occasion: to join together and feel the gratitude of receiving a gift from a loved one. And so, the event of the Sky Gift Giveaway was born. Hope you enjoyed my small tale! Oh, and also... Sending with gratitude!~ [Read more] |

Edit: Thought I would add in a picture to emphasize my point of how obnoxious it is. All these eggs are in Storage Boxes. (Don't mind the random Shaymin.) Nine interactions I cannot return... :< It's quite sorrowful. [Read more] |
