Animatronic
Username: rotrat
Name: Rhubarb the Rat
Programmed Personality: Goofy, excitable, childish.
Programmed Gender: N/A
Year of Service: 1989 -> in service, but used less regularly.
Description/Image: Rhubarb is a pink-red rat animatronic, with big cartoonish teeth on his top jaw. He has a pale yellow belly, forehands and tail. The mechanisms that kept his tail curled are long since busted and so it dragged whenever he walked - he is now a stationary animatronic because of this reason. His fur is worn down in patches, particularly his legs and waist that most children were tall enough to hug. His eyes are green.
Canon or OC: OC
Occupation: They are listed as a pest in the diner's characters stories - they are always planning to steal the cheese that's put onto the pizza. However, due to his age and general stiffness he stands in the diner beside the door to the kitchen and tells jokes to children.
Background/History: Rhubarb was made to cash in on the popularity of the classic kid's movie, An American Tail, which had come out mere months before his creation. His colour scheme, however, was based on the Rhubarb and Custard sweets as another way to appeal to young children.
Extra Information: Rhubarb is genderless - however, despite his pink colour, most children assumed he was male. He just went with it.

Rhys

He felt the burn of Ember against his front legs, but surprisingly it didn't hurt nearly as much as the Blizzard until he realised; 'I'm a higher level than the worm!'. With this in mind, he broke from the blind rage he had been in and altered his charge towards the Larvesta, head raised and ready to deliver a Peck against the Bug.

He didn't bother to reply to the Feebas, his determination and focus on his target was more akin to a Tauros than a Nidoran, but he was a stubborn fellow dead-set on landing his attack.

Caleb

He gave a noise of consent and, tucking his wings close to his sides, took off in a dead sprint behind the Tyrunt. However, not noticing the other fossil slow down, he abruptly crashed pass him and landed in a heap just beside the Togepi as she squeaked.

Caleb took a moment to assess the situation - with him, of course, having landed on his chin, butt in the air - and let out a high pitches shriek in an attempt to sound menacing, pupils narrowed as he observed the egg Pokémon.

Rhys

He let out a high pitched yelp as he attempted to dodge to the left, breaking his Leer, and only half managed. His hind legs were stiff and coated in frost, the burn of ice making him whimper and roll on the grass, searching for any sort of relief.

Now, he was in pain and angry. Rolling swiftly to his feet, he charged at the duo, horn glowing purple in preparation for a Poison Sting attack. He managed to pick up a decent amount of speed, despite his limping gait. He leaped, aiming for the Water type that had damaged him, hardly aiming and trusting blind luck to ensure he hit.

Rhys

Rhys lowered his ears against his head, shifting his weight in discomfort. "Here, what're you feather-heads babblin' about?" he challenged, lifting his chin to try and seem more intimidating. He noticed the sparks of fire being prepared by the bug and knew that this was going to end up as a fight.

'Well,' he thought, 'if it's a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get!'

He dug his nails into the ground for support and used Leer, glaring at the trio before him.

Caleb

The Archen huffed with amusement, but shook his head and let it go. "Sure thing, Glacial, I get'cha."
Still, the thought of the big, bad dinosaur getting outsmarted by an egg quirked the corners of his mouth.

As they descended further into the woods he decided that walking would probably be more practical, and thus landed just behind the Tyrunt, who had his head to the ground. He listened attentively to the other Pokémon's comment.

"You said it!" he exclaimed empathetically. "Master could take all the world - and more! He's invincible, right? I've heard he's invincible. And he 'gots himself so many other Pokés followin' him, it would be easier than cutting through a Ditto with a Bisharp blade." he chuffed.

Rhys

He barreled on ahead, ignorant that Caleb had left and even that he had left his own territory. He ran as fast as his stubby legs could carry him, head down and racing through the undergrowth towards - 'a lake?'

He slowed down after he burst from the cover of the bushed and as he realised that he didn't know where he was. Panting for breath, he lifted his head and looked at the group of Pokémon gathered around the lake - a Ponyta, a fish, a... giant bug. Well.

Rhys wasn't about to let his confusion show, oh no, he puffed his chest out and approached the ensemble.

"What're ye doin' here?" he snapped, anxiety making his accent thicken. "Don'cha know 'yer close to the Threat's territory?"

Caleb

"Hey, don't you go blamin' me for your screw-up, I only just got here!" he protested indignantly. "Besides, how did you manage to miss a Togepi? They've got like... tiny little legs."

He noticed the other fossil Pokémon stalking away, and weighed his options. Either go back the way he came and attempt to track down Rhys - 'eugh' - or follow Glacial on a border patrol.

Well. Saying it like that, it wasn't really an option at all.

"H-hey, wait up!" he squawked, hastily taking off and flying after the Tyrunt. "'Ya might need the backup!"

Caleb

He was just prepping to fly after the Nidoran when he heard a high pitched squeal somewhere not too far north. He trusted his partner to take care of himself, and with one last moment of hesitation, took off.

It wasn't until he had neared the commotion that he recognised the voice - another member of the Threat! He worked his wings faster, wishing not for the first time that his body wasn't so heavy. He emerged into the clearing, noticing first the Togepi, and secondly the Tyrunt.

"Glacial!" he exclaimed, coming to land a few feet away from the - could it be considered a fight? Caleb thought not. But he wasn't going to interfere, the smaller Pokémon's fate wasn't something he considered his responsibility. If Glacial killed it, he killed it and if he didn't, he didn't. Wasn't any harm on the Archen's conscience.

"What's going on here?" he asked the Tyrunt, settling down on the ground.

Rhys&Caleb

The duo of young Pokémon were exasperated - they had been stuck on patrol duty, again! Neither rightfully knew why they were consistently paired together but their clashing personalities never ceased to cause tension and drama.

Caleb - the Archen - had always assumed that their contrasting types and similar level range were the reasons for their enforced partnerships, while his counterpart Rhys the Nidoran had assumed he must have offended Arceus in a past life to end up stuck with such a featherhead. Alas, the Threat worked in mysterious ways, and the pair were ordered to walk the perimeter of the settlement.

It was then that, with the use of his sensitive ears, Rhys heard the sounds of fighting in the near distance. Clicking his tongue as a signal for Caleb to return from the tree he was perched in, he called him down.

"Bird-brain, I'm thinkin' there might be some goons up ahead. 'Ya hear those squawks? That's gotta be some Poké's trespassin' on our border! How's about we give 'em a little one-two-kabowsk?" the Poison-type suggested with a cocky grin.

Caleb, looking more exasperated than bemused, shrugged his shoulders in a general consent.

"Lead the way, hotshot." he chirped.

He clicked his tongue in petulant annoyance, annoyed at himself for letting him be startled. He was a trained fighter, what a rookie mistake (no wonder that was his nickname as a buneary...)!

"Yeah, I've already seen Syva. Kinda hard not to when she springs up five centimetres from your nose!" he growled, still just a little bit prickly. He took a breath to soothe himself, and nodded his head in acknowledgement to her bow. "Nice to meet'cha, regardless. I'm Lysandre."

He turned a hot glare to Luck. "I'm fine! And I make no promises about the punching - not to her, but you're fair game as far as I see!"

The Lopunny grinned, body loose and relaxed and controlled with a precise focus - a walking contradiction - as he led Luck towards the tree. As much as he'd never admit it, he was still exhausted by the long days (weeks?) he has spent travelling in the wilderness and a good sit down was just what he needed.

"Well, Luck, guess 'ya could say today wasn't... your lucky day!" he blurted with a snort. Composing himself quickly, he moved on to introduce himself.

"You could call me 'Lopunny' if you want to, and also equally want to be High Jump Kick'ed into next millennium, or you could call me Lysandre, which is my name. But knowing you, I'm sure you'll find a way to screw up even this."

He was having fun teasing the Lucario when all of a sudden the Gardevoir reappeared. Without a second's hesitation, he yelped and his fist was drawn back in preparation for an Ice Punch before registering who it was in front of him - not a friend, but not a f o e either.

"For Arceus' sake!" he snapped, removing his arm from around Luck and stepping back, good humour lost and scowl firmly in place.

He blinked as he watched the other Pokémon suddenly turn away - if he had been sure it was his words that had frightened her he would've be laughing, no doubt about it. But he was certain he saw something behind the other, and he knew he had heard something - his keen ears missed nothing.

He wasn't surprised, per se, the presence of Ghost Pokémon was no shock, but their comedic timing was en pointe. Huffing out a small laugh, he walked closer and draped an arm across the shoulder's of the Lucario.

"Who knows where she's gone?" he shrugged flippantly. "She'll either come back or she won't, nothing to be done about it."

He gave a side glance to the Lucario's face as he began to try lead her to the tree. "So, what's your name, then?"

((OOC: hey there! for Spirit, you could use the singular 'they/them' for them, instead of typing out 's/he' all of the time! just if you want to, though! :o))

'Spirits give me strength,' he whispered aside, bringing a paw to pinch at the bridge of his nose and releasing a sigh.

"Have you ever heard of a 'metaphor'? Or, if that's too much, how about a 'figure of speech'? I didn't mean a literal Ghost Town, I mean it's silent as all sin here, to the point that it seemed abandoned. I mean, besides myself, you and your partner and this trio of disturbingly quiet characters behind me."

His arms swung loosely at his sides as he continued. "But then, it may very well be a Ghost Town. You said only some leave? And this is where Pokémon come to 'get well'? Stands to reason there'd be more than a few causalities. Who's to say there's not the spirit of some poor, unfortunate soul right behind you?" he asked with increased frevour, trying to build up an atmosphere.

Lysandre couldn't contain his grin - this was going to be fun! Cocking his hips and crossing his arms he gave the duo a once-over before replying.

"Well, you see any other Lucarios in the area? Pray tell me if you do, maybe they'll know the art of observation, aka, how could you not have noticed this little ensemble bickering away and starting f i r e s all of 2 metres away? Some pretty impressive one-track mind 'ya got there, might I say."

He tilted his head towards Syva at the sound of her sigh and offered her a polite nod of greeting before realising that the Lucario was still going.

"What's my damage? Creative comeback, A+ in delivery there. And my damage is the fact that we are currently stood in an Arceus-confounded ghost town and literally no one but myself seems to give a care!" he snapped arms spread to emphasise his point.

"Well, Mel, I can honestly say that I haven't the foggiest. That Gardevoir - Syva? - just kind of... teleported around the place. I don't know, why are you askin' me?" he huffed, shifting his weight from paw to paw.

"Hey, Lucario! What's your damage?" he called out with a cocky grin.

Lysandre watched the Lucario's multiple anxiety attacks with a bemused detachment. Had they not noticed the audience of four Pokémon mere feet away?

He tilted his head and replied to the Meloetta. "It's a big dang tree, alright." he noted. Ignoring the comment about the 'in-ter-net' (what in the name of Arceus was that?), he decided to go about introducing himself.

"Oh yeah, I'm Lysandre. Just for your information."
