Apprehensive of the consequences if he didn’t vote, Takuya tucked his guilt to a far corner in his heart in order to vote for Roslyn. Takuya felt unsatisfied; he didn’t want the truth even though it loomed over him. He rubbed his eyes, forcing back his newfound tears. Takuya wasn’t terribly close to either Roslyn or Bakura— the way Takuya made his prior arguments had showed that, but helplessness hushed his voice, denying him to speak anything meaningful without choking up.

Takuya grimaced. “I know we’re trying to find who killed someone and all, but you could be a little nicer to someone when asking about their secret. After all, it clearly drove someone to kill. Monokuma himself said that he was going to release all the secrets today— there’s no way that is a coincidence.”

“I’m sorry, but... I’m not fully convinced that it is Roslyn. Of everyone here, Bakura and Roslyn are clearly the closest. It’s almost like they woke up knowing each other. Would some secret really have pushed the boundaries of their bond and cause them to frame each other?” Takuya’s face hardened, his voice becoming quieter.

“...But at the same time it feels strange that there was evidence pointing to both... It seems too convenient.” Takuya’s eyes scanned the entire room. “I think that whoever did it most likely wanted to throw a wrench between them and make them argue... but if it is Roslyn, then why? Wouldn’t they know how much that would affect Bakura...?”

“Roslyn trying to frame someone they’re awfully close to doesn’t sit right with me at all,” Takuya murmured, thinking deeply. He had been unusually quiet, even for himself. He was trying to soak everything in, attempting to spur his thoughts while he tapped on the pedestal. “Someone else taking the guitar would make the most sense to me, as it is very easy to slip into someone’s tent.”

Writing had been scattered haphazardly around Takuya as he worked; he had written a variety of things during his absence with the others— his own will, his letters to people here, and his “map” of what everyone had known so far.

Takuya mused that it was about time he stopped being a hermit, to leave his ocean of papers behind. After pausing to stretch, Takuya lifted the flap of the tent to reveal the outside he was beginning to get familiar with, peering outside to see if he caught glance of anyone. He noticed Rory immediately, as the way he walked was distinct. Takuya debated if he should even bother confronting him.

Takuya irritably tapped his fingers on his right leg. He had spilled water over the paper he had been working on. Takuya was trying to make a different kind of map— forgoing his previous map that would have improved upon the one in the E-Handbook to instead create a map to organize everything everyone knew. He had discreetly taken his breakfast back to his tent so that no one would bother him while he did so, but it had come back to bite him.

Briefly, Takuya wondered if anyone thought he had disappeared for good. He huffed, thinking, If that were true, they would have come looking for me, right? With that, Takuya snatched another piece of paper from his pack to resume his task. He was intent on providing everyone else with some kind of theory once his thoughts were organized.

Do consider that there will be more dates announced as time goes on. These are just a bit of what may be to come.

Takuya huffed. “Well, it is scribbled out. I’d ask whether or not if it’s intentional, but the bear is gone. We are back to where we began, armed with terrible knowledge.” Takuya frowned. “However, Celeste is wise. We should know our surroundings well. I’ll be off to the tents as well... to see if we can figure anything else out.”

Takuya wordlessly snatched the e-handbook out of his pocket when he heard Yumi mention a map. Normally, he wouldn’t be able to contain his excitement, but the realization had been hammered into him like nails. He stared at it, inspecting it. Like Yumi had said, it was a very crude and seemingly rushed drawing. They didn’t even fit the entirety of the word ‘Pavilion’ on the map. Takuya did have to give whoever illustrated it credit, though. They simplified the other locations better than he ever could.

Takuya could do nothing but put his analysis of the map aside to ask, “Court... place?” He thought briefly, before speaking up again. “If— that is a very big if— someone does get murdered, will we go there to figure out who it is?”

Takuya stiffened, his heart began to race as he took turns to imagine everyone he had barely acquainted himself with plotting his death. “Are you giving him ideas to tempt us, Junko?! I just can’t fathom any of you— any of you doing something like that!” Laughter born from genuine anxiety and helplessness escaped Takuya’s mouth. “You’re joking, right? This is a silly prank, right?”

The longer Takuya kept trying to convince himself, the shallower his faith within the others became. His hands were stuck at his sides as he felt all his limbs seemingly go numb. Sheer terror was a feeling Takuya had never felt before, and it was hitting him full force.

Takuya could sense apprehension wash over him like a wave, his trust within Monokuma fading as seconds ticked by. The way he moved and talked was anything but natural. Monokuma’s mere existence was offputting. He thought deeply about how to take this. Living with others was considered to Takuya as something that would only drag him down in his constant running, but that was his old life. Things were different now.

Takuya finally found it in him to speak, putting away his jokes and absurd assumptions to replace them with genuine concern, and managed to say... “How long will we be here?”

Takuya sprinted ahead to follow Yumi— he fumbled to put his belongings away, not wishing to fall behind. He wanted to be one of the first to see what this place had to offer. The announcement was beginning to irk him, though. Some... thing had wanted all of us to meet at the pavilion. Were they going to answer our questions? Did they know what had happened to us? Thoughts tumbled through his mind, but he was forced to put them aside.

One concern of his managed to slip out, though. Takuya asked, “Hey guys, while we’re going... Was I the only one to notice that in the far corners and in the hidden crevasses among the trees, there’s barbed wire?”

Takuya gave an approving look at Junko. “You certainly do look like it, Junko. I’m nothing short of impressed.” He resumed tapping his foot as he thought about how to respond to Junko’s other question, ‘What’s happening.’

“Though, we don’t know what’s happening. We’re here at what looks like a summer camp, deprived of several memories. Everyone here is an Ultimate. We have two Ultimate Lucky students, they’re Nagito and Makoto,” Takuya observed, aptly nodding at Nagito and Makoto as he mentioned them. “They must be even luckier to be in the same place as us,” he added, looking back to Junko.

A perplexed look crossed Takuya’s face as he processed those words. “Signed up? As in, we agreed to this?” He gripped the paper clasped in his hand tightly, tapping his foot. It took a moment for it to dawn on Takuya that he didn’t know who that was.

Takuya would have asked who that was if he weren’t interrupted by a pang of pity as he rested his eyes on the one approaching from the pond. “Do you need help drying up? Parchment does a good job if you put aside the fact towels are miles better, but what ya gonna do?” Takuya processed that he had spoken at the same time as Meiji, and laughed nervously to lighten the awkwardness of it.

The more Takuya thought about it, he was drawing blanks on memories. There were gaping holes where there was once a regal fountain of knowledge. The realization came in waves; Takuya felt he was a shell of himself. That’s when Takuya processed that while he was deep in thought, he had dug his pen into the paper. It had created a small but glaringly obvious tear when he removed it.

Biting back his disappointment, Takuya decided to tackle the one question that had formed that wasn’t about himself, taking a moment to process Meiji’s request. “but, ah... before we do, though, I’d like to get one question out of the way.” Takuya shakily acknowledged everyone with his hand, “Are all of you... Ultimates?”

Nagito’s question interrupted Takuya’s penmanship. He glanced up to see the eyes of the one in question. Takuya absently responded, “No, I don’t think so.” He paused, considering his next words. “Do you think someone intentionally kidnapped us or something? Man, if that’s true, I’ll have to thank them for putting me in such a pretty place.” Takuya immediately reconsidered his statement, but had no idea how to refute it.

The perks of always having paper means you have infinite notes... which would be fantastic if Takuya had decent memory. He’d always begin to write, get interrupted and shove it back into his pack— left to be forgotten until he is looking for paper. He flips over his notes and maps out the stupidest of things. He repeats the cycle until every margin was filled with either maps or writing.

This didn’t stop Takuya now, though. He shuffled through his bag and took out a piece of paper, tuning out the peculiarity of his situation in favor of this. Takuya was absorbed in both writing down the names that stuck out to him in the blur of other conversations around him, and using careful detail to capture the quietly stirring pond that was in the distance.

(this is why takuya has no friends in a nutshell. no, takuya, maps are not considered friends.)
