Over forty years ago, the townspeople of the village recorded a series of mysterious disappearances, individuals lost among the shadowy boughs of the neighboring woods. Sometimes, the people disappeared in pairs, groups, or even individuals. There was no rhyme or reason to who went missing, no particular age, gender, or profession. Even children were known to disappear. All the townspeople know is that once a person set foot in the woods, they were never heard from again. Slain bodies are buried deep within the earth, leaving the forlorn spirits to wander the woods alone. Nobody noticed the increasing number of names carved upon the bark of a withered birch, the names of the dead.

an enigma to deduce, nevertheless, sun tzu has earned
his name as a cunning, highly intelligent, and strategic
leader. his aura resembles that of a chess grandmaster, cold
and calculated. despite leading a totalitarian government,
this individual does not lead through fear and threat.
instead, he guides through example, striving to pose as a
role model to his underlings. a unique individual struggling
to break past their icy walls. a total sherlock holmes.

the former protogé of sun-tzu before they stepped out from
under their wing and became a full-fledged member. they get
their way by charm and charisma, and are generally regarded
as being the most approachable of the mafia's higher ups.

alongside harpocrates. they are the one you

analyzes art as a way to get to know a people and culture.

looks up to sun-tzu as a mentor figure.

General Plotline

Gangs and violence. Dark intrigue and Machiavellian politics. Blood and coins.

All that has come and passed, as it has always in the history of humanity. Kingdoms rose and fell, to be remolded into empires. But now, that is no more. In an era of faux prosperity and forced peace, there is only one organization on top, with the power and influence that could rival a empire at its prime. There is someone at the top of the pyramid, and they intend to stay that way.

For over fifteen years, the Mafia has reigned with an iron-fisted totalitarian rule over the city of Aureatus, a dystopian version of modern day New York City. They control most, if not all, of the major facets of their citizen's lives, and use force, coercion and even assassination to stifle rebellion. The leader, who's reputation is both widely feared yet somewhat enigmatic, keeps a cadre of five top operatives as his main playing cards, with other lower-ranking soldiers working for him as well. Keeping their real names hidden from the public, this mysterious group have formed a tight-knit bond built on teamwork and keeping the Mafia and their leader in power. However, the wealth in the city still flows, and the old festivities are allowed. Life is still considered "peaceful" if you don't land yourself on the Mafia's radar. Perhaps, there is something more than "fear" that keeps an all-out coup from occurring.

And yet...a rebellion has flourished in recent years. Small, but growing rapidly, like a flame in the brush. Coming into the open, a new group who call themselves Phoenix One - armed with sharp wits and sharper blades - have begun to ignite the flame of rebellion. They made their presence known with daring incursions, striking against the Mafia's facilities and taking up arms. One thing is for sure, this stubborn family will not be beaten down without a fight.

But little do either of these two organizations know that there are others out there who want a slice of the Mafia's power. At any moment, old enemies will rear their head. In this dark underground, power is never guaranteed, and those who do not fight for their cause risk losing it all.

Alistair is a young man with green eyes and messy blond hair tied in a ponytail by a red cord with tassels fading to tan at the ends. His outfit is a fusion of Western-style attire with parts of samurai armor. He wears a decorative, red and black cropped jacket over a black shirt, along with a pair of silver dog tags hanging around his neck. The buttoned cuffs of his gold-trimmed kote-like sleeves are patterned with a fleur-de-lis design. He wears a black metal headband on his head, with gold-accented horns resembling the maedate (front crest) of a kabuto helmet. He wears a fire emblem on his belt, in addition to a kusazuri (tassel) adorned with flaming otter crests on the other hip. The same crest is marked on the poleyns of his boot-laced suneate (shin guards) with tabi shoes. He also has small, red studded earrings.

At his core, Alistair has a good heart, thinking little of his own wellbeing in comparison to those around him. His thoughts are constantly attuned to the outside instead of himself, and he willingly lends a hand to those in need. When engaged in conversation, he is outgoing, filling the air with sweet words and good jest. With this outward mentality comes an insatiable and desperate urging towards the outdoors on the search of a new adventure. He listens to stories with a wide-eyed gaze of wonder, forming worlds unto his own, worlds that he would want to discover one day. A doer instead of a follower, when Alistair puts his mind to something, very little can deter him. With his youth comes a particularly hardened stubbornness, making him someone who is not easily worn down. Say what you will about his stature, it's all irrelevant to him. When faced by opposition, he has a brash temper to show for his youth, unafraid to pick a fight and get dirty if it means getting his point across.

Even with a creative and inquisitive mind, Alistair cannot help his blindness towards social cues. He has a tendency to seem too self-righteous or bossy with his words, which he shares readily without even needing a prompt. His mind tends to lag behind his words, actions already in motion without considering the benefits of logic and strategic planning. And with this readiness comes a certain impulsivity - he is ruled by the wiles and oscillations of his heart, not his head. It seems that Alistair will have a great deal to learn in the coming years.
