Solaro could tell Sawyer was puzzled.

She blinked slowly.

"Well, uh, what do we do now?"

She twisted the lock of hair she was playing with around a finger, nerves making her stomach flip.

Oh god... More death.

Guilt surged a tidal wave over Solaro, clogging her mouth and ears and nose and surging around her until she drowned in sorrow and blame.

Solaro's gaze flashed menacingly at Sawyer. But...

Her gaze softened slightly. This person was no threat to her... just clueless.

"She..." Solaro stammered.

"Yes. She was... my friend. My sister, even."

Augh, why do I dread being honest to them?

Curiosity fizzed in her brain, but she shook her head.

"She's... in a much nicer place now." Solaro said. She felt comforted by these words, that her sister was possibly way happier then she was here....

But screeching of betrayal and struggle clouded her thoughts and Solaro felt worse.

Solaro had not killed to rid Akora of this prison...

Why, she was not sure.

Solaro gazed at Akora.

Augh, what the hell...

Solaro had to clamp her mouth shut to stop herself from screaming.

I'm crazy. Solaro felt dizzy.

"I'm sorry,"

She whispered.

Solaro closed her eyes and was taken back to a while ago.

"Apologize to your sister."Her mother glared sternly down.

Solaro bristled. "She hit me first!" She whined.

Koda sighed. "She bumped into you, fur-brain."

Akora blinked. "I'm okay Koda,-"

Koda shook her head. "Hitting is not okay." Koda narrowed her eyes at Akora, before turning to Solaro.

"Apologize."

"..."

Koda growled.

"Okay, okay! I'm sorry, 'Kora." Solaro blurted.

Akora gave a raspy laugh. "'sall good."

Solaro blinked away the memory, eyes wide.

The scent of blood and a wail of fear split the buzzing of her ears and she leapt backwards, screaming for a heartbeat before she stopped, blinking wildly.

Solaro blinked slowly. Through the loud, harsh ringing in her ears she heard someone say something.

"...Solaro, I'm so sorry for your loss."

She turned to meet the eyes of Lucian.

Her emerald green gaze was dull and her eyes miniature pools of sadness and... despair.

She mumbled something, but the words were so garbled it was difficult to understand, if at all.

"..s'all good."

Solaro's tongue twisted itself into knots and clenched her teeth.

"...She walks among the stars now."

Solaro whispered, and her gaze flickered up and then down.

She could take comfort in that.

Now she was safe.

Solaro "Makasu"

Solaro appeared from the doorway, but stopped short of entering the room. Her green eyes widened and she wailed. She opened her mouth again, but little sound came out.

Confusion clouded her head.

Akora... She... Is dead? Why? What did she ever... do?

Solaro felt dizzy.

I must be asleep again. She closed her eyes briefly. This is all a dream.

No, whispered a tiny voice. She is gone.

Solaro opened her eyes again, and took in the scene.

Oh..

Bloodied and bruised, Akora lay there. Solaro's gaze briefly darted to her wrists.

Bile rose in Solaro's throat and she struggled not to vomit or pass out or both.

She felt sick to her stomach.
