So, I'm going to go off on a random tangent and assume that at least one person must have subscribed. But, without further ado, I present: Pokemon: Fifth Dawn Chapter 1: Shattered Hearts Meloetta popped back into existence and floated unsteadily. Instantly, her body began to Fade much faster. Meloetta briefly considered watching the green particles float into the sky and towards Earth, but quickly shook that thought out of her head. She had bigger matters on hand. Meloetta floated up above the trees, scanning for her friend. She shouldn’t have been too hard to spot, her fur was white, after all. But then again, the cover of leaves that shrouded the forest from any and every outside viewers would dampen Meloetta’s search, so she ducked beneath it once more. Meloetta’s eyes drifted from side to side as she scanned the forest. It didn’t seem as if Sarah was near the area of the forest Meloetta was currently in, so she started to glided faster through the forest, even sending out short psychic pulses to help her check all directions. Most of the things she got with these scans were just trees. Meloetta stopped. She heard rustling, and started floating over to investigate. Sarah was sniffing around, darting from tree to tree in search of some berries. Ever since a group of Dragon Pokemon had arrived in the forest, food had been very scarce, so Sarah had to go much further to find any food at all. Sarah groaned in frustration when she went further and further away from her home. We have got to do something about those Dragons soon… she thought, sniffing around the ground some more. Sarah perked up when she caught a whiff of Pecha Berry. Thanking whatever Legend was currently looking out after her, Sarah started off towards the scent, only to be knocked out of the way by a Deino. Sarah instantly realized what had happened; the Deino had followed her to the berry bush with intent on taking all the berries for himself. Sarah got to her paws, readying a Dazzling Gleam, which she had learned from a TM some trainer had dropped. “Hey,” she growled. “You. Yeah, you, the Feebas with acne.” The Deino stopped ravishing on Pecha berries and turned slowly towards Sarah. “What did you call me?” he growled back, slowly and menacingly. Sarah wasn’t deterred. “What, is your hearing as bad as your looks? I called you a Feebas with acne, ya deaf Zubat in a stereo factory.” The Deino growled harder. “Stop that or you’ll be digging your grave.” “Stop what?” Sarah asked, feigning innocence. “Talking? Sorry, but I’m afraid this is the ‘show’ part of ‘dinner and a show.’ Would you like to pay now? I take payment in the amount of Dragons who leave the forest.” The Deino widened his stance and lowered his head. “You’re definitely digging your own grave now, kid. The forest belongs to us Dragons, now.” Sarah stopped and gaped at the Deino. “‘Kid?’ I’m sorry, but I’m no kid.” Sarah started trotting around the Deino. “Now, you, on the other hand…” The Deino growled more. “I’m a level 20, kid. That’s on par, if not better, than anyone in this forest.” Sarah brought her front paws up in mock dismay. “Oh no! You’re a whole five levels lower than me! Whatever shall I do?” The Deino could not possibly have growled harder. Sarah grinned smugly at him, which was the final nail in the coffin. He leaped up at Sarah, who promptly released a Dazzling Gleam at point-blank range. The Deino fell to the ground and struggled up. Sarah trotted over and leaned down over him. “Listen,” she spat. “I’m not one of those weak Mincinno who only cower in fear. I’m willing to get my paws dirty when I have to. Learn who you’re dealing with before you automatically assume you’re better than them because your daddy can randomly storm into a forest and eat all the food there.” The Deino looked up at Sarah, and spat in defiance at her. Sarah casually stepped back and it fell short. Sarah trotted over to the Pecha bush, holding in exclamations of joy, and picked off a berry. She started taking a bite out of it, before being knocked back into a tree. Sarah looked up slowly, seeing a Zweilous. She was arguing with herself. “Hey, sis!” one head exclaimed. “I love Pecha! Can we have some Pecha?” “‘Course we can,” the other head snapped. “Right after we deal with this pathetic rat.” ‘Aw, but sis!” the first head complained. “You know I don’t like battling. Are you sure we can’t eat at least a little bit before we battle?” “Yes!” the second head exclaimed. “I am most definitely sure that we cannot take a snack break before teaching the Mincinno a lesson about messing with our family!” Sarah struggled to her feet and readied a Dazzling Gleam. The Zweilous started towards her, only stopping when the first head turned around and tried to nip at a berry. The second promptly started scolding her for this. The Fairy energy Sarah was building up for her Dazzling Gleam was growing, slowly, but steadily. That’s right… she thought. Go ahead, argue amongst yourself… I’ll just be right here… Eventually, the second head got the first to stop trying to eat the berry, and the two started advancing onto Sarah. Sarah’s Dazzling Gleam was almost charged up as much as it could, and she widened her stance to release it. The Zweilous charged at Sarah quicker than Sarah anticipated, and she panicked and released the Dazzling Gleam. The Zweilous veered off course and slammed into another nearby tree, before getting up and shaking her heads. She turned towards Sarah and both heads started growling. Sarah started charging up another Dazzling Gleam, knowing that it wouldn’t be as powerful. She had to launch it at exactly the right moment, although she was mostly counting on luck. The Zweilous started slowly crawling to Sarah, which Sarah was grateful for. But that gratitude quickly turned to dread as the Zweilous suddenly darted at her full-speed. Sarah shut her eyes, bracing for the impact, but it did nothing since she was knocked away just as easily as if she hadn’t braced herself. Sarah slowly opened her eyes at the Zweilous, who trotted over, seeming to do exactly what Sarah did to the Deino in a mocking stab at Sarah. Sarah briefly laughed at the mockery, but then struggled up defiantly. The Zweilous, or at least the second head, laughed at Sarah, before charging forward once more. Sarah was preparing to jump out of the way at the last second so the Zweilous would slam into a tree behind her. She was just about to jump out of the way, when with a flash of light Meloetta appeared and used Close Combat on the Zweilous. The Zweilous reared back and then glared at Meloetta. “What do you think you’re doing? I don’t care if you’re a Legend, no one interferes with us giving someone a lesson.” Meloetta glared down at the Zweilous, not at all impressed with the dragon. “I’m sorry, do you know who I am?” The Zweilous snorted. “You’re just one of those regional Legendaries who live in the forest. We’ve dealt with them before.” Meloetta walked slowly to the Zweilous. “Wrong answer,” she said. “I am Skaena, Meloetta of the Council of Legends and I demand you crawl back to whatever hole you climbed out of this morning and go about your pathetic life.” The Deino paled at this, and started urging the Zweilous to get up so they could get away. She slowly got up, one head knocked out from the force of Meloetta’s Close Combat, the other glaring at Skaena and Sarah as the two dragons slinked away into the forest. Skaena turned away and smiled at Sarah. “Well, now that that’s over with…” she started. Skaena held out her remaining hand, and with a flash, a Sitrus berry appeared. Meloetta handed it to Sarah, who nibbled at it. Sarah grinned sheepishliy at Skaena. “Thanks again, Skaena… That’s thirty three favors I owe you now…” “If you want, I can begin to owe you if you do something for me,” Skaena said, sitting down next to Sarah. “Really?” Sarah looked up at Skaena. “Is it that important? Thirty three different favors, all taken away for just one task?” “Well, it’s a very important task.” Skaena nodded her head for emphasis at each syllable of what she just said. “As, well, you can probably see, I’m kinda Fading away…” Sarah waved her paw through a ghostly remanant of Skaena’s arm. “I think I can tell that,” “Well, yes,” Skaena said. “And, see, I’m not the first. A whole bunch of the Council is taking a bit of time off just to find the Legends who’ve already Faded and bringing them back here to Ecana.” “They’re not even on Ecana?” Sarah gasped. “Then where did they go off to when they Faded?” “Well,” Skaena started. “It’s a world called Earth. There are no Pokemon, instead they have these things called animals, which are basically Pokemon without all our elemental powers.” Sarah shuddered. “Forgive me if I say I’d rather not go there.” “Well, unfortunately, that’s kinda why I’m here,” Skaena said. “I managed to convince Animus to let me let you find the Faded Reshiram.” Sarah began to nod slowly, starting to understand. “And if I find Reshiram all the favors I owe you will be taken away?” Skaena tilted her head. “Well, I don’t exactly need you to pay me back for any of those things I did for you. But, well, our conversations are much better when we’re talking as equals, like this, and not when you’re getting all frustrated over whether or not you’re showing me enough respect.” Sarah stood up and practically glued her paw to her forehead in a salute. “Well, you can count on me for this, Skaena!” Skaena closed her eyes and smiled, before getting up, too. “Thank you, I’m glad.” She opened her eyes and turned towards Sarah, laying her remaining hand on Sarah’s shoulder. “I’m about to teleport us over to Earth now, okay? Once we’re there I’ll be able to locate Reshiram and give you enough power to bring her back over to Ecana.” Sarah nodded, determined. Skaena closed her eyes again, before the two of them began to glow. The wind whipped up, and it started swirling faster and faster, before everything was still, and silent. Skaena and Sarah were not there anymore. When Sarah opened her eyes, she instantly noticed a change in her surroundings. “Why are the colors so… dull here?” she asked. Skaena shrugged, and then watched as her leg evaporated into shimmering particles. “You know, the actual Fading is pretty neat if you think about it,” she said. A transparent outline of her leg slowly appeared. “Your physical body kinda disappears, but your mind still thinks something’s there, and if you’re a Psychic like me you can at least make yourself look normal…” “Uh, hello, Skaena!” Sarah waved a paw in front of Skaena’s face. “We have some more important things than admiring yourself floating up into the sky!” “...We do?” Skaena asked. “Oh! Oh, yes, we do!” She looked down at her legs. “That teleport we did is causing me to Fade a lot faster than normal… I’m honestly not sure if I’ll be able to pinpoint his exact location…” Skaena glanced around. “He should be somewhere on this street, if I’ve gotten us where I think we did. So, at least we won’t be completely clueless as to where to look…” As Skaena’s other leg began to disappear, she turned towards Sarah. “Change of plan,” she said, not even bothering to add in the illusion of her leg. “I’ll give you the ability to do the teleport and to locate Reshiram. Then I’ll probably be just a head or something, so I might be able to guide you for a bit.” Sarah nodded slowly, a bit sad that Skaena wouldn’t be there the entire time tshe was going to be on Earth. “Okay,” she said. “I’m ready.” Skaena simply tapped Sarah’s head as soon as the words left her mouth, and then Sarah somehow found herself with the subconscious of both how to locate fluffy white dragons who were humans without knowing that they were, in fact, fluffy white dragons, and of how to teleport said fluffy white dragon throughout dimensions. Sarah scanned through this information for a brief moment, before turning back to Skaena, who was currently watching as both her arm and her body evaporated into the all-too-familiar particles that floated off into the wind. “Well,” she said. “I’m really Fading fast. I might not even be a head!” Sarah felt tears begin to well up in her eyes. “W-What? D-Don’t even joke about that!” she shouted. “Y… You can’t just leave me here, alone, to find Reshiram all by myself! I don’t even know where to take her when I get back to Ecana! I can’t do this without you!” Skaena frowned. Her illusionary body flickered back into existance, and Sarah’s tears were wiped away by a Psychic arm. “Sarah, we went into this knowing full well that I wouldn’t come out of it,” she said. “I’m okay with it, really. I’ll just be somewhere else for a little while. And I know that you won’t fail to bring Reshiram back. I’ll be smiling and laughing again before you know it!” Sarah wiped away the new tears that had managed to well up. She was suposed to be strong. “B… But, Skaena…” “Shh,” Skaena said. “No buts. You know how to find her. Just bring Reshiram to Dragonspiral Tower and then you can get the Council so they can focus on finding me.” Sarah sniffed. “I… I promise, Skaena! I’ll do just that! And I’ll bring you back as soon as I can, too! Count on it!” Skaena disabled her illusion as more of her head began to disappear. “I’ll be counting on you, Sarah…” As the last remains of her friend evaporated away into the wind, Sarah collapsed down onto the ground, sobbing uncontrollably. Kevin sat at a laptop, cheerfully tapping away at a fanfiction he was writing. Both his parents were away; his mom went to bells practice at the local church, and his dad was dropping his brother off at college. So, taking advantage of the lack of distraction, he decided to get as much done of the earlier mentioned fanfiction as he could before the two of them got home. Kevin typed away in mostly silence. A My Little Pony song was being played in the background, since Sonata Dusk is adorable and Rainbow Rocks was awesome. As Under Our Spell ended, Kevin finished up a paragraph and went to check DeviantArt. In his momentary distraction, something flickered at the edge of his vision. Something small, fluffy, and gray. Kevin turned towards where he thought he saw it. Nothing was there. You know,” he told himself. “If something like that happens again and nothing actually happens, maybe my life will become like my English project…” Kevin continued writing. Tricks Up My Sleeve was playing. Kevin began to hum the song, and eventually he just burst out into singing. ”You better believe I’ve got tricks up my sleeve! And I captivate, ‘cause I’m powerful and great!” he sung. ”You better believe I’ve got tricks up my sleeve! Watch me dominate! ‘Cause I’m powerful and great!” There was a crash behind Kevin, and he stopped singing immediately. He got up from the floow where he was typing at, turning off the music, and stuffing his phone into his pocket. He walked out of his room, into the hallway. Something scurried behind him, and he turned around, quickly, to see what it was. It was a Minccino. “Wait, what?” he asked. “A Minccino?” The Minccino coughed into his, or her, Kevin wasn’t really sure, paw. He, or she, watched with mild curiosity as Kevin chattered to himself excitedly over the possibility of Pokemon being real. “Yeah, you are a Minccino!” Kevin said, as he was suddenly crouching down next to the Minccino. He, or she, jumped back when Kevin was suddenly next to him, or her. “What are you doing here?” Kevin asked. “Are you lost in an alternate universe, because a drunk Palkia accidentally made a portal that you fell through?” The Minccino looked at Kevin with a face that very clearly asked what he, or she, was getting himself, or herself, into. “...No,” a feminine voice said. “That isn’t why I’m here at all.” Kevin gasped, for no reason whatsoever, the Minccino thought. “I can understand you!” he exclaimed. “Am I a chosen warrior who must become the ambassador between humans and Pokemon or something?” The Minccino glared. “...No.” Kevin pouted. “Can I at least go to the Pokemon world?” he asked. The Minccino thought for a moment, then she closed her eyes and she started glowing for a moment. The light faded, and then the Minccino opened her eyes. “That can be arranged,” she said, before jumping and latching onto Kevin’s face. “Fluffy!” his muffled voice exclaimed. The Minccino shook her head, before the two of them lit up much like the Minccino did seconds ago. The wind picked up, even though they were indoors, and it swirled around them in a way that made Kevin believe it was magic. He wasn’t too far off, though. The wind began to swirl faster and faster, before Kevin and the Minccino were gone. Everything was still, and silent. Yeah, I'm still depressed just thinking about that scene with Sarah and Skaena. I'mma go cry in a corner now, 'kay? [Read more] |

I'm ObsidianBlack555! And you can probably tell from my username, which is neatly to the left of this stuff that I have typed. Anyway! This is the first fanfiction that I have posted here of Pokeheroes, but, rest assured, it is NOT the first fanfiction I have written. And so, without further ado, I present: Pokemon: Fifth Dawn! Prologue: The Council Meeting The Council was Fading. Animus was outraged. How was it possible that a virus managed to sneak into Leginda that causes Legends to Fade into a human life over in the human dimension? The other Council members were just confused over what was happening. Kyogre Faded first, and Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres followed soon after. Things peaked once Reshiram was affected, and then Meloetta, Jirachi, and Shaymin got infected. Animus and Element, Mew and Arceus, called a meeting to decide what to do. Element stomped his hoof in front of the chattering Legends, Animus floating beside him. “Attention!” he shouted. The Council fell silent. “It is now time for the five hundred and fifty fifth meeting of the Council of Legends!” Innocence (Latias) giggled. Element looked around the Council. “Yeah, so, we’re here to talk about the Fading of Legends and a possible cure and solution. Animus, if you’d please.” The Mew nodded and floated up in front of the Council. “The virus was first noticed approximately a month ago, in which Kyogre was affected after a trip to Hoenn.” Element stepped back up. “The three birds soon fell to it, and then Reshiram followed. The virus soon spread to Meloetta, Jirachi, and Shaymin.” The three Legends fidgeted. “Element,” Jewel, the Diancie, raised her hand. “I am under the impression that we all know this, so why are you following through with this torture?” “Uh…” Element started. “...Blame Animus.” “Hey!” Animus exclaimed indignantly. Element grinned sheepishly at her. Animus huffed and turned back to the Council. “It’s standard procedure,” she declared. Then she coughed into a paw. “Anyway, we have to figure out what to do about this virus.” Ghistlaine raised a wing. “We could send some Legends to Earth to find the Faded Legends and bring them back here.” The Council murmured amongst itself. “That is a much better idea than what I thought of,” the Council Regirock said. “...What was your idea?” Innocence asked warily. “Well,” the Regirock started. “Basically we find this cave and put the infected Legends in and then no one else will be infected!” “What would we do about the Legends who have already Faded, then…?” Animus asked. “Uh,” he responded. “I dunno.” Suddenly, a Ninetails Gijinka sitting next to Ghistlaine piped up. “Well, I’ve got an idea.” Animus facepawed. “Laura, you’re not part of the Council. Why are you here?” Laura took out a Pokeball and released the Pokemon inside. “Wynaut!” he exclaimed. Animus facepawed again, with the other paw. Innocence was applauding Laura. Laura started bowing as more and more Council members started applauding. The Wynaut also took in the praise. “Alright then,” Animus sighed. “What’s your idea?” “Well,” Laura started. “The first thing we need is some Nevermeltice and a Vanillite or two…” Laura wheeled in a whiteboard with some very, very complex diagrams drawn onto it. “...And then the tap-dancing mosquitos will storm into Earth and only the humans will be afraid and run away because the Faded Legends will have already had it imprinted on their memory!” Laura finally finished. There was silence. “Wow,” Animus started. “That’s… Creative.” “I lost track after she mentioned Nevermeltice…” Darkrai whispered to Cresselia, who probably would have facepawed is she could. “Am I seriously the only one who managed to follow along?” Innocence asked. Everyone turned towards her and nodded vigorously. “Wow,” she responded. “Well, I guess that plan’s down the drain, we need exactly forty-three people to use it.” “Aww…” Laura was dispirited. “Alright, I’ll go plot out another plan…” “Actually,” Animus responded. “I think we’ll go with Ghistlaine’s plan.” “Great!” Ghistlaine piped up. “I call fetching Arty~!” “I’ll find Zapdos,” Lugia said. “I’m taking Kyogre, then,” Deoxys stated. “I’ll take Moltres!” Innocence said. “I’m claiming Reshiram because Reshiram are awesome!” Laura piped up. “Um,” Animus started. “No.” “Awwww!” Laura complained. “Why not?” Her Wynaut jumped up and nodded in response to her. “Because you are not a part of the Council,” Animus said. “In fact, where is Abyss?” “She’s off somewhere in Johto,” Laura said. “Why?” “Because I’m going to ask her to keep a closer eye on her Chosen…” Animus started. “She may be my daughter, but…” Laura crossed her arms, and pouted. Her Wynaut copied her. "I thought we were friends!" Laura said. "Wyyyy!" Wynaut agreed. “You’re not a member of the Council, no matter how many times you’ve saved the world,” Animus said. “I’m sorry, but that’s how it is.” Laura humphed. Ghistlaine trotted over and whispered something in her ear. Laura immediately perked up and then climbed onto Ghistlaine’s head. “What did you tell her?” Innocence asked. “I told her she could come with me to find Arty,” Ghistlaine explained. “Plus it’ll also give me time to take her socks…” “What?” Laura asked. “Nothing, nothing~!” Ghistlaine replied quite quickly. Animus coughed. “Anyway, we still need someone to look after Reshiram…” “I’ll do it.” Meloetta raised her hand. Everyone turned to look at her. “...Are you sure?” Animus asked. “You’re Fading. How much longer will you be able to keep a physical form?” Meloetta looked down. Her arm had already Faded, and it was spreading at a rapid rate. “I should have enough time to gather some help before I fade.” “Help?” Animus asked. “What help?” “I have a friend,” Meloetta responded. “But she often feels as if she’s not worthy enough to be friends with me, which, quite frankly, is stupid. I want to send her to find Reshiram, so that, at least to her, we will be equal in favors for one another and she can stop treating me so highly..” Animus thought for a moment. “Alright. I’ll let you do that.” Meloetta brightened. “Really?” Animus nodded. “Yes. It seems to me, at least, that this friend is very important to you. It seems as if this will improve your relationships with your friend, and that is a reason I can get behind.” Meloetta bowed briefly. “Thank you, Animus.” “Hey, hold on a second!” Laura said. “How come her friend gets to go and find Reshiram while I can’t with two other Council Members?” Animus sighed. “It seems to me, Laura, that you want to do this because you like Reshiram.” “What? No!” Laura exclaimed. “It is my obligation as a Chosen to help the Council!” Laura then let out a gasp. “Wait, Abyss isn’t here! That means she must have Faded! I’m going to save you, Abyss!” “What?” Animus asked. “No. Abyss hasn’t Faded, she’s just in Johto. You were the one that told me that.” “No, she’s definitely Faded!” Laura exclaimed. “But instead of Fading to Earth, she’s Faded to Johto!” Animus sighed. “Fine…” “Also I’m bringing Kamui!” Laura exclaimed. Animus sighed again. “Fine…” “Yaaaaaaay!” Laura jumped off of Ghistlaine’s head. “Sorry, Ghistlaine, but I gotta save Abyss from the dreaded place known as Johto!” “...Why does she hate Johto?” Celebi asked Ho-Oh. Ho-Oh shrugged. Laura trotted over where a sleeping bat-cat Pokemon thing slept. Laura picked her up and slung her over the back. “Right, well, I’m off to Johto now! See ya!” Laura trotted off somewhere. Animus didn’t react, really. Ghistlaine and Innocence waved bye. “Right, now,” she said once Laura was out of sight. “We need to find out who will find Meloetta, Shaymin, and Jirachi when they Fade.” “Um,” Shaymin started. “Actually, could we not?” “Yeah, it kinda feels as if you’re planning out funerals…” Jirachi trailed off. “I mean, as close as we can get to them. I mean, as close as you all can get.” Animus sighed. “Yes, yes, Cassie we’re clear that you’re just filling in for Sena while she’s off taking her fifty year nap like Jirachi do. You don’t have to tell us again.” “Although I have always wanted to know what it’s like to be a human!” Cassie said. “And my other body isn’t Fading so if I need to contact y’all I can just trot on over here!” “...Your point is, Cassie?” Animus asked. “Well, I was thinking that when I’m tired of being a human I could just tell all of you to send a fetch party!” Cassie exclaimed. “Shouldn’t take too long, from what I’ve seen of humans.” Animus sighed. “Fine, fine.” Meloetta raised her remaining hand. “Animus, may I go and fetch my friend now? You can plan about who to find me while I’m gone, teleporting her should speed up the process I’ll Fade within the hour.” Animus nodded at her. “I will not keep you any longer. Go ahead.” Meloetta briefly bowed once more, then she teleported off to Unova. Cassie's from one of those other fanfictions I mentioned earlier. All you need to know is she is both an Eevee and a Jirachi simultaneously, due to weird soul shenanigans. Hi ho, bunny away! [Read more] |
