I (sadly) do not have the game anymore, but my first ever shiny happened to be a shiny sandshrew in heartgold.

I was just waiting for my mom to be done with whatever she was doing before my first day of 6th grade, playing on heartgold because I was bored. Ironically, in my head, I was on the subject of shinies, saying "The red gyarados would be so much more worth it if everyone-"

Bam. Right in front of me. A shiny female Sandshrew.
