I'm doing the duck game at the fair and I've never seen a shiny one. For anyone who has seen them, how long does it take and how many tickets did they give? I don't know if it's worth it or not to wait.

When in the screen to customize a shadow pokemon for the pokemon beauty contest, it looks like the shadow form. However, when the photo is taken, it reverts to the pokemon as a non shadow. This is really frustrating if you spend an hour or more customizing the pokemon just to have it not come out as expected.

I'd prefer it if shadow pokemon just worked, but if there's an issue with them for the photos for some reason, it'd be better for the preview to at least show that reality rather than having to find out the hard way :')

Shadow Pokemon are obnoxious to fill out your collection for, as you only get 3/5 options a day, and most likely the option to only catch 1 of them a day. On top of that, even a common shadow pokemon may advert your gaze for a year if you are unlucky, as you try to finish your collection. Well, my emporium is here to help!

The pricings are simple, and based on the rarity of pokemon. You may also offer items/pokemon equivalent in value to the pd, and I will accept as long as they are close enough to equivalent, so you don't need to spend pd itself if you don't have it. Note that they will be put on the auction house regularly where people can potentially get them for half the price, so listings will change regularly!

!!! BUY 4 GET 1 FREE !!!

*EASY: 50k pd*

*MEDIUM: 80k pd*

*HARD: 100k pd*
---OUT OF STOCK---

*RARE: 150k pd*
---OUT OF STOCK---

*STARTER/SPECIAL: 200k pd*
---OUT OF STOCK---

*LEGENDARY: 300k pd*
---OUT OF STOCK---

TOO EXPENSIVE? You can request I put a pokemon on auction, and its starting price will be half the full price, with a buyout of the full price. This does mean you aren't guaranteed to get the pokemon, but if you are lucky it is a more affordable option.

CAN'T FIND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR? With a deposit of 10% the cost of the pokemon, you can request I prioritize hunting a certain pokemon if I see it. I will prioritize it even over new pokemon for my own collection, and in addition it will not be put in the emporium for a week upon capture. Instead, it will be reserved for you, and I will notify you of it. As long as the remaining 90% of the cost is paid within that week you will guaranteed be given the pokemon you are looking for.

If you aren't able to pay for the pokemon within that week, I will return your deposit and put the pokemon on sale in the emporium. In addition, if you find the pokemon yourself and no longer need me to hunt for it, notify me and I will return your deposit, so there is no risk in it even if you find the pokemon you want before me. If there is ever any conflict where I have to pick one pokemon a hunter is searching for over another, I will prioritize the person who put in a deposit first. However, this scenario is unlikely because I can catch 2 shadow pokemon every day.

I see them as requirements for berry board quests, but I see NONE of them anywhere in berry shops, the item market, nothing, not even for a million pokedollars or something. I just want to know whether they are missing from the game or if nobody has them for some reason.

For any of the playerbase that doesn't know, in order to unlock these legendaries in the ancient cave, you need a dark stone for zekrom (and I assume a light stone for resisham?).

When you take them to the cave, it takes the stone and then gives you two options between Truth and Ideals. I thought it was just a quest path option or something so I clicked one basically at random, but it just booted me out. I genuinely thought it was a GLITCH and emailed the mod team it was that confusing. I know now that's not how it works, that there is a wrong option that boots you out while taking your item, but there is nothing in the quest that makes that clear.

My suggestions are going to be based on the assumption of what the purpose of having this choice and questline were supposed to do in the first place: Reward players who understand what is being referenced by the question, while letting players who got it wrong know they got it wrong so they can maybe understand the reference too. Remember, this isn't really rewarding an elite club who played black and white, it's punishing people who didn't google something.

1. Lockout timer if you get it wrong (instead of taking the item). This is pretty simple, it lets a player know they got it wrong without locking them out of doing the quest entirely. It could even come with a message with a link to black/white story lore or something, making it a fun learning moment for those who are interested(Instead of looking like an bug that stole your item).

2. Make it clear the choice matters. If your goal really is to punish people who get it wrong as harshly as possible, the least you can do is make it more obvious there is going to be a consequence to getting it wrong so people can google accordingly or whatever.

One thing I really would like people to consider when thinking about these suggestions as well is to not have a mentality of "I had to deal with it, so others should too". Even if I was never recompensated my dark stone, I would be happier knowing no player in the future has to ever deal with the situation I went through.

As stated above. I'm just curious if there is anything specific that determines it, or certain times of day it gets refreshed. It doesn't really explain it well on the page itself.

This article goes through all the math on how these probabilities were determined. If you simply want to know the probabilities, and the best amount of rounds to grind game chips, scroll down to the bottom.

In order to calculate the chances of you winning a given amount of higher or lower rounds, first you have to calculate the average chance of winning (or losing) each round. To do this, I assumed the player would choose the best option each time (If he says 2-5, pick higher, If 6-9, pick lower). This gives over a 50% probability of victory each time.

Win chance for ONE round of Higher or Lower, based on his first number pick(Percentages rounded):

2 - 8/9, 89%

3 - 7/9, 78%

4 - 6/9, 67%

5 - 5/9, 56%

6 - 5/9, 56%

7 - 6/9, 67%

8 - 7/9, 78%

9 - 8/9, 89%

If you average all these probabilities together by adding the numerators together and dividing by 8, you get a 6.5/9 chance of winning by average, taking into account all possible first numbers. However, due to this being an illegal fraction, I will simplify it to a 13/18 chance for the next segment.

Now for the tricky part: Figuring out how often you will go MULTIPLE rounds without losing. To do this, I had to calculate the probability of you losing at least once in a game of higher or lower. Well, calculating this is actually the same as calculating if you win every time! The formula for this is 13/18^n, with n being the number of rounds played.

Rounds Played:

1 - 13/18, 72%

2 - 52% (Stopped doing fractions due to them being ridiculously complicated)

3 - 38%

4 - 27%

5 - 20%

6 - 14%

7 - 10%

8 - 7%

9 - 5%

10 - 4%

11 - 3%

12 - 2%

13 - 1.5%

14 - 1%

15 - 0.8%

Soooooooooo... If you ever wondered why it's so hard to get 15 in a row, this is why. After getting these stats however, I decided to try to find the average turn out of tokens for each amount of rounds, so that I can find the best amount of rounds to play for token grinding.

This is pretty simple. Taking the percentage of victory(as a decimal), and multiplying it by the amount of tokens you would get for winning the round (Which is bet amount x token multiplication factor), you can see what amount of rounds would likely be best to earn tokens from, based on what you would probably get from multiple games playing that amount of rounds(in comparison to what you started with): (For this I used a bet amount of 1000 tokens to show the comparison)

1 - 360 tokens

2 - 416 tokens

3 - 456 tokens

4 - 459 tokens

5 - 460 tokens

6 - 420 tokens

7 - 380 tokens

8 - 329 tokens

9 - 285 tokens

10 - 272 tokens

11 - 240 tokens

12 - 186 tokens

13 - 161 tokens

14 - 122 tokens

15 - 110 tokens

Conclusion: Based on this data, I can conclude that this game is absolutely TERRIBLE for long term game chip earning, and probably should only be done for quests or for fun, due to you likely being left off with less than half of what you started with. If you decide to try anyway, play 3-5 rounds to maximize your chances of winning and how many you earn at the same time. If you get a quest to beat multiple rounds in a row, understand the chances because it could take a while. And, remember that every time you click to do another round, you have a 5/18 chance of losing, so ask yourself if it is worth that risk. Anyway, hope this was interesting to all you fellow trainers at the game center, and tell me how wrong my math was XD Thanks for reading! :P
