Rama saw Doug storming off of the beach, and decided to follow him. She silently broke away from the group to avoid notice, and walked quickly after him. They made it all the way to Route 2 before he stopped and she could catch her breath. "Doug? Are you ok? You look pretty upset." (I'm actually new to the rp so you might not have met Rama yet. Everyone's just been walking around Route 1 and talking and getting their first few Pokemon.)

"Ok, Eric. I went and trained my Pokemon a bit, so I'm ready to test my team and I against yours!" She pulled two Pokeballs out of her Bag, and Meowth and Turtwig, having not been in a ball, went to stand by her side. "I'll start with Meowth!"

"Well I hardly think that you gaining two more high-powered Pokemon should make me any more prepared to face you, so I'll still pass for now. But I'll be happy to once I get a few more members for my team!" She stroked the leaf on top of Turtwig's head. "It won't be long, I'm sure! I'll be back and ready in a little while."

Rama walked enthusiastically into the Hau'oli outskirts, and nearly stepped on a Meowth crouching in the grass. "Oh!" She gasped."Hi there! Would you by any chance mind coming with me on my journey?" She held out a Poke Ball with a questioning look. The Meowth growled warily. "...Oh, well, that's ok too." She patted it on the head and stood up, but as she continued through the grass she felt a sharp prick in her leg.

"Ow?" She looked behind her to see the Meowth trying to climb up her leg. "Are you trying to say you do want to come with me?" The Meowth settled itself on top of her Item Bag. "Alright! Welcome to the team!"

Hunting through the grass, she also found a Grimer, which Turtwig got down to a low enough HP for Rama to throw a Heal Ball. With these new additions to her team, she was ready to take on Eric.

(While Vulpix and Sandshrew are great, it's not viable that you would have them since they aren't found near or on Route 1. I don't know if we're going for continuity with the canon, but it might be better to stick to Pokemon found in the area where you are, to not be OP.)

"Wow, that's pretty nice! M Turtwig's only level 10 right now, but I only just started my adventure not long ago. Wimpod's level 14, but you can barely tell since he's so small!" She smiled affectionately at her Pokemon. "I would offer you a battle, but I know my types too well to think that I could win! But I'd be happy to walk around in the tall grass with you for a bit so we can train our Pokemon."

"Sure!" Rama nimbly tiptoed behind the rock, barely making a sound. "Turtwig! Use Tackle!" Turtwig looked up, then ran right into the rock. Wimpod ran away from Turtwig, and Rama scooped him up in her arms, his body now curled into a tight ball. "That wasn't so bad, was it?" She cooed to the frightened creature, stroking it's hard shell. "You're alright, sweetheart." The Wimpod unfurled itself slowly and she looked to Doug, smiling.

Rama watched attentively as Doug cast his line, and, staring at the water, waited for a few minutes. A slightly less concealed smile crossed her face as she saw a few bubbles rise to the surface, while Turtwig peered into the water, marveling at its reflection. "Wow, those splashes are pretty big! What do you think it is?" She looked past the water's surface, trying to discern from the murky depths what was on the line.
