Xena chuckled. "Yes, that was me. I was blinded during the first few minutes of the games, but..somehow, I managed to surivve." Her face grew serious. "And that's what you're going to learn. The most important thing of all, above killing or hiding, is to simply live."

Grey was a whirlwind of horror in his veins, blood on his hands, and metal falling to peices around him. He was plowing through enemy lines, getting closer and closer to his goal, until the tide of the battle pushed him back. He cursed, but his injuries were too much. He had to retreat, though he didn't think that he could face the general. So, he prayed that somehow he could talk his way out of this. Grey had always been good at talking, and charming. Maybe it would pull through again. So, he limped back to base, and when he was halfway there, he collasped. His leg was nearly spent, the metal plates twisted and damaged. He would lose his leg soon..still, he kept going, still fighting. He would do something about this, to live another day.

Agria let herself give a faint smile, then nodded. She hurriedly sat back down just as the woman came in, giving the room a wide stare before her eyes settled on the spot between the two tributes. "So..you must be Kendo and Agria." It was very clear soon that the woman who was supposedly their mentor was actually blind. Agria recgonized this quickly, and tapped the table, signing something out in Morse Code. "Yes Agria, I am your mentor. My name is Xena. And I too am from District Four. Something tells me that both of you are not like the other tributes, no?" She sat down.

"Send it to my room," she snapped in the enterance to the dungeouns, "I have..buisness." But in her rush, she left the doors opened slightly...

Odil simply crossed his arms, observing. Almost immieadiently, he had snuck into the shadows and was watching carefully, white and yellow eyes glowing. He smirked a little. The prince sighed, seeing Jace. "Please, you don't have to do that, my family never earned that kind of respect anyways. And please, call me Ben. No one does anymore...As for the monster, it was absolutley horryfying. At least, what I could see. Huge, with tentacles coming from its mouth and flashing yellow eyes like our lovely...friend here, Odil's. But his were more sinsiter, and I could tell he could rip anything apart with the flick of a finger. And if we don't get that artifact, it will be set on us all." Moxie gave the prince a digusted look, the young woman was much more open about her hatred of the royalty then Jace was. "You want us to do your dirty work?" "You're doing his dirty work," Odil said dryly, "I just put you on the job." Moxie whirled around. "What?!" "You and Jace are going to be working with the prince to steal this..artifcat." "You can't be serious." "You're my best thief, Moxie, and a damn good spy. You're the one for a job in the castle, you have always said your talents were wasted." "But-it's the prince!" "You know I'm not that happy to work with her either, Odil," the prince said. "She seems like an absolute nightmare." "Hey!" "I've already made my descison," Odil said with a slight barking tone. "Moxie, don't forget you work for me. And Prince Ben, if you want this artifact gone, you'll agree to the terms, no?" Ben sighed. "Alright, fine." Odil turned to Jace, saying, "And what about you? You actually have a choice here." Moxie, meanwhile, busied herself by going to the door and yanking in Horizon. "That's the last time someone eavesdrops on my conversations, boy."

Rebecca nodded, scurrying away and nearly bumping into the princess, a blonde woman with pointed features and eyes so green they were almost hypnotizing. "Watch it!" she barked, and Rebecca apologized, clumsily curtsying before continuning to go. The princess seemed busy, heading down to the dungeouns, which were near the path to the kitchens.

Moxie was temporarily distracted by the smacking noise, and yanked open the door, pulling Jace inside. "Not nice to eavesdrop."

The voices..were getting louder. But Grey was too focused on his goal. The goal that, despite all of his missing memories, the holes in his head that let experiences, people, feelings all leak out, he would do as he was told. Destroy every metal weapon that he came across. Plow through enemy lines. That was his goal, his purpose. Without it, Grey was nothing. While he may have remembered nothing of his past, he knew his title: The Iron Giant An ironic name for someone who flinched away from metal, but nonetheless, that was who he was. Who he would always be.

He unhooked his parachute once he safely reached the ground, boots thumping. He checked the guards on his fists, leather patches designed to keep the most amount of damage away, then set to work. Around him, weapons would clatter and fall, twisting themselves useless. He would plow, and kick and punch, till his knuckles were bruised and broken and blood ran down his head, past his cold, emotionless eyes.

When Rebecca calmed down enough, she nodded, saying, "I wanna help, but..the head lady will be mad at me." Evreyone knew the wrath of the head lady when things weren't to plan was terrible.

Agria paused just as she was about to sit down again. Kendo had shown her kindness that other than Majoree, no one had shown her in a very long time. Why shouldn't he become her ally? And so, she turned around, and went to stop him, pointing to herself, then him, and clasping her fingers together, hoping it would get the messagae across. Me..You...Alliance?

Meanwhile, their mentor was arriving, a large, tall woman with tan skin and muscular arms. But she had a glassy, unfocused look in her eyes.

"It's okay!" she insisted, eyes wide with something between awe and confusion at this new attention. "It's been happening for awhile, so they don't hurt anymore. It's hard to keep it in, and it burns me, but it's not so bad," she confessed.

Meanwhile, Odil scoffed. "I don't deal in petty sibling arguments."

"You don't understand!" the prince insisted, face white. "My sister has raised a demon, and she's going to unleash it on the rest of the kingdom, I'm telling the truth." Moxie scoffed, but Odil held up a finger. "Let's..hear his majesty out."

The prince told a story of how he had caught his sister, or, as he clarified, half-sister, with illiegal books and in places she shouldn't be, learning about a monster named Krull. He had caught a glimpse of the beast in the castle dungeouns, and it was horrible....

"So what exactly would you want us to steal?" Moxie asked. "The artifact keeping him alive." Odil was silent, then said, "How much?" "Whatever price you want." Odil grinned. "Five hundred thousand gold, and I'll have my team ready." Moxie's jaw dropped, but it nearly met the floor when he added, "I'll send my right hand herself, Moxie, and the two eavesdropping outside the door."

Grey was ready. He was almost anticipating the battlefield, his mind had gone far from being horrified at what he saw. He'd been at it too long. He'd seen too much. But that twisting wouldn't go away. Most of the time it was the twisting from the constant pain he was in, but now that he was out here, it was the twisting feeling of wondering if this war was ever going to end. Sometimes, he didn't think so. He would be so lost in his despair that he would think that it would never end, that the cycle of bloodshed and tears and losing and winning would continue until there was no one left, and he would be just another nameless soldier in the history books. On those days, he wished to die. He wished that there would just be one bullet too much, and it would all be over.

But on other days, Grey had hope. Grey had hope that things would be different and better, that somehow, in some possible way, someone would win. At this point, he didn't care if it was Red or Blue, he just hoped that someone would end things, and that a new future could open. A different one then the pothole that he was living in now. Or, more accurately, the trench. The trench full of wires and rocks that cut him open and left him bleeding and dry. But maybe that would all change, and, though Grey would never truly not be in pain, he could possibly rest. That was all he had ever wanted, was simply just to rest.

He took his backpack with reluctance, and with almost mechanical actions, he released the parachute. The drop didn't affect him, nothing did. But the roar in his ears was nothing compared to the screams.

Agria hesitated, looking back at Kendo. She had managed to clear her head of those poisounous little thoughts, but they were slowly creeping back in, pushing past the new guards she had set up again like bugs crawling through holes, crawling and skittering and filling her brain, and they wouldn't stop until suddenly-

She was hit with the realization.

She would have to kill people. This was a thought she'd tried to avoid, but if she was ever going to keep her promise, she had to win. She had to. She wasn't going to leave the rest of those children alone with Auntie, whose beatings and harsh words would kill them. Agria had to win. And alliances were the best way. And so, she nodded, before fleeing back to her train car.

Agria's head was clear now, and she took a little breath, a gasp like she was suprsied, but just enough to clear her head more, to chase away those little thoughts left over. She dug the crumpled paper from her pocket, and the stubby pencil. She scrawled ou, "A G R I A" in careful letters, having little pratice writing. Agria prayed someone knew sign languge on this train...She tried to gesture to herself, trying to make Majoree understand it was her fault, then looked to Kendo and nodded, giving Majoree a wave with the tips of her fingers, the other hand wrapping around herself protectively, a move that took no thought.

"What the hell is he doing here?" the young woman hissed, pinning the prince to the wall and holding a knife to his throat.

"Moxie!" Odil barked, and she backed off, still scowling. "Talk."

"I need you to help me steal something. From my sister."

"The new princess?"
