Character name: Ribbon is his nickname, is real name is Kindle

Character species: Flareon

Character look: Looks like a standard Flareon, however his tail is rimmed with a black, jagged pattern. Wears a clear blue ribbon-like scarf around his neck.

Character personality: Very calm and quiet, but gets annoyed easily and often dislikes helping others due to being constantly betrayed. Has trust issues and doesn't know how to make friends, but is really friendly once he opens up and is very funny.

Character strange ability: Team Rocket was experimenting with a new substance they're calling the A-Virus, a black, gooey substance they found outside, writhing and moving by itself on a bush. They took it in and started running tests on it, and eventually they decided to test its reaction to another living thing, or a Pokemon. So they fused it with Ribbon, and boy did they get a reaction. I'll explain this thing more in the 'anything else' section, but basically, whenever Ribbon experiences a strong emotion (usually anger), the Virus will take over his mind and his eyes will go black, with red pupils. In that state, Ribbon is not able to think clearly as his consciousness has been taken over by the Virus, and his strength, speed, HP, defense and agility are all boosted by 40%. He's very hard to calm down in that state and it took Team Rocket forever to gain control of him and make him stable (btw, Team Rocket has done many experiments with the Virus before but Ribbon was the first time it's ever worked and not made the Pokemon either die or go completely insane).

Strange mark: The black rim on his tail is from the Virus experiments, and his left eye being slightly off-colored from the Virus.

Backstory: Ribbon lived as an Eevee with his mother and brother, when one day he stumbled across a cave and found a Fire Stone. He evolved with it, and ran back home to show his family. His family was disgusted, for a reason Ribbon will never know, and they kicked him out, leaving him to wander on his own. He tried making friends, but they all left him, even giving him some issues as they went. Eventually, he found Team Rocket and, thinking they would help him, went with them. Turns out, no they didn't help him they made his life 1000x worse, and now his trust has been shattered and his spirit is broken.

Moveset: Flamethrower, Fire Fang, Tackle, and Ember (when in his Insane mode his attacks do 40% more damage)

Anything else?: this is how the A-Virus works: it's from a different plane of existence entirely, and on the rare occasion it does come into this world, it just hangs around waiting for a victim. It looks like a black goo oozing around, moving on its own. If you touch it, it will attach itself to you and seep into your body, slowly making its way through your bloodstream into your mind, where it attaches itself there and slowly corrupts you, making you go insane and eventually die. Team rocket experimented on countless Pokemon with this thing, trying to get it to make them ultimately more powerful, but every experiment up until Ribbon ended in disaster. Finally, they got it to work, and now Ribbon's mind is plagued with a virus that is slowly killing him, making him unpredictable and dangerous. His stats are only boosted when the virus has control over him, and it can very easily short-circuit and stop "working properly", so he goes back to his original state. When he comes back to his original state he is fatigued and sore, always experiencing a headache.

Floria felt her leg set itself and the pain slowly subside into a dull throb. She looked up, wondering what had happened, and realized the light had all but turned off. Her phobia shot straight through her brain, sending a jolt of fear through her body, but she composed herself, trying not to show it, despite knowing no one could see her anymore. Her second thought was confusion. What happened to the light?
And then worry. What happened to the shiny Eevee?? Floria's heartbeat grew quicker as she realized that if the light had turned off, something must have happened. She strained her ears for any more words from the kind Pokemon, but she heard nothing except shallow breathing and quiet sobs from other Pokemon. Panic threatened to take hold of her mind. With a quick shake of her head, she flicked her ears, her hoofs becoming slightly damp due to the leak. Her anxiety told her to assume to worst, but she knew this Pokemon must be stronger than she seems. Still, she wished to go help her, she wished to get out, she wished to let all these poor Pokemon leave safely and go back to living their happy little lives.
With a quiet, sad little huff, Floria gazed off into the darkness. The light had dimmed to no more than a faint glow, and her eyes strained to get used to the sudden change in lighting. Her ears picked up a multitude of sounds- cries, frustrated growls, hisses and clangs ringing out, coming from Pokemon desperate to escape. Floria shared their discomfort, their unhappiness, their desperation, but she knew better than to strike out in a feeble attempt to escape. Nothing good would come of it.
With a sigh, she shifted her body, grateful to the release of pain in her leg, and fell asleep, exhausted from worrying, allowing her mind to succumb to the doubts and anxieties that swirled just beyond reach, trying to swallow her whole.
That sleep, she had a nightmare.

Bumblekit perked her ears up. Did she hear a warrior... talking to her brother?! She swiveled her head around and saw Goosekit and Honeykit gazing up at the warrior, holding a conversation. She was shocked. She could do that too! She ran up to Oliveeye, who was sitting nearby as well, and crouched next to her, listening to the conversation.

Phoenix's feathers ruffled and she gave a startled flap. Hesitating for a moment, she turned and spread her wings, lifting off into the sky. Looking back, she saw the cave with the flickering firelight disappear as she flew away.
Phoenix grumbled. Bold of you to assume I want to go back. she thought bitterly. But she couldn't bring herself to feel mad. She felt kind of sorry for this Pokemon, living on its own. Despite it obviously being lonely, it didn't seem to like others that much. She shook her head as a wave of thoughts swirled around in her mind, sloshing against her consciousness, storming around, fighting to be thought first. Her flight pattern slowed as she struggled to keep her mind on the sky. Anything could be flying at her at any time- sky travel is very dangerous.
But her mind continued racing, and she found herself not being able to focus. She didn't even feel herself falling until her thoughts died down and she came back into reality, watching the ground approaching faster and faster. At first she was confused. Then it hit her, and panic took over. She flapped her wings desperately, and she was able to slow her fall somewhat, but she crashed against the ground, tumbling over herself until she ran into a prickly bush. Spitting out dirt, she struggled upright and examined herself. She didn't seem to be too hurt, which was good, but she had tumbled head-first into a thorn bush. Great.
With a sigh, she pushed herself up, wincing from the sting of the thorns, and slowly picked them out while walking away. She was still in the barren land, but fortunately the angry Abra's cave was nowhere in sight. Once she had gotten all the thorns out, Phoenix looked around. She shook her head. There was no reason to stay here. Lifting her wings, she gave a flap to lift herself back into the sky. She got a few feet off the ground before her left wing exploded in pain and she fell to the ground with a thud.
Ok, so maybe not as unharmed as she thought.
Phoenix gave a frustrated twitter and folded her right wing, but kept her left wing held out at an awkward angle as it hurt to try and move it. Limping slightly, she continued forwards, trying to get a sense of direction. Of all the places she could have gotten her wing hurt, she had to get it hurt here, where there was literally no one. She closed her eyes for a moment, frustration starting to grab at her, but she let it out with a sigh. She would simply walk home. There was no need to freak out. Calming her mind and slowing her heart, she walked onward, trying not to move her wing.

Floria's ears barely managed to pick up Linii's response. She heaved a heavy sigh, laying her head back on her forelegs. Her right leg still throbbed with pain, but at least it was somewhat bearable now. The leak slowly grew larger as more water spilled into her cage, and she could only imagine how bad it must be for Linii. Panic had been replaced with a hollow hopelessness, growing so large it threatened to consume her. She couldn't give up now, but there was nothing she could do. She could feel tears pricking below her eyelids as she squeezed her eyes shut. She tried to stop them, but they broke out anyways, sliding down her snout and dripping onto the floor in a slow, silent, melancholy song. She tucked her head underneath her left hoof, as any movement of the right would send tremors of pain through her body, and silently cried. It had become too much.

Floria's panic grew ever-larger. She was running out of options. Of course it matters! she wanted to shout, but instead, she just nodded and replied, "I wish I could do more to help. We do need to get out of here."
She glanced down the long lines of cages to where the shiny Eevee had spoken. Hopefully this plan gets put into action soon, she didn't know how much longer she, or anyone else, could take.

"Ageus." Phoenix replied quickly. She didn't know what it was, but something about this Pokemon made her want to stay on its good side. Maybe it was the fact it looked extremely powerful and angry, but Phoenix had never let that stop her before. Now, she stood in the opening to a cave that housed a Pokemon Phoenix had never seen before, holding some sharp spoons. She would have found it amusing if not for the circumstance.

Phoenix's feathers ruffled slightly, but she couldn't blame this Pokemon. She was technically barging into someone else's home uninvited. "Well... for starters, my name is Phoenix," she said, her brain racing with fear but her voice surprisingly steady. Guess it pays to defy adults all the time. "And I don't know how I got here. I was playing with my friend when I flew too far in the clouds, and when I came back down I was here."
Phoenix finished her tale and glanced at the spoons being gripped tightly by the Abra. Every instinct in her body told her to either puff up and return this Pokemon's hostility, or get the heck out of there and fly away, never coming back again. Not like she could come back anyways, as she didn't know how she got here in the first place.

"Linii." Floria said, kindly but firmly, noticing Linii's energy fading. "Linii, listen to me. How far away can you get from the water?" Floria's mind was racing, sending waves of panic washing over her, but she kept her voice and demeanor calm. "Get as far away from the water as possible. Please don't give up."
Floria was struck with the overwhelming need to help this Pokemon, even though she had never met her before in her life. She was willing to do whatever it took to get her out of here alive. Even though it sounded absurd, she felt as though she owed it to Linii. So she swore, she swore on her life that she would help.

Floria's ears flicked and she darted her head up. The slow drip from the leak in her cage had now become a steady stream, the puddle slowly growing. She heard sobs, and she heard them from Linii's cage. Concern flooded over her. What if a leak had started in her cage as well? Panic and desperation threatened to overwhelm her, racking at her brain so much it caused a headache. Fighting to keep calm, she reached out with her voice, as that was all she could do. "Linii, listen to me. It's going to be ok." she said, in the most reassuring voice she could muster. "I know it hurts. I know it's painful. But you need to stay calm. How far away from the water can you get? I'm going to help you."
She repeated soothing words towards Linii, hoping that they would reach her and she could help. Floria's mind was battling with panic, but she had become a master of masking, and she kept her voice steady.

Phoenix let out a cry of joy and laughter as she flew through the sky, diving in between clouds, splitting them in two. Her best friend, Talon, was hot on her tail. The two of them zipped across the wide-open, clear blue canvas, making loops and turns and dives and flaps. Her wings beating faster, Phoenix dipped just below the cloud-line and flew straight below it. Talon soon joined her, and the young Trainquill pursued her friend along the undersides of the clouds with a laugh. Phoenix laughed back, and flapped her wings even harder. Slowly, she began pulling away from Talon, driving herself farther away from being caught.
They were playing a game, a game of tag, if you will. And so far, Phoenix was winning. She flew even faster, testing her flight limits, seeing how far she could go in how little amount of time, and soon she was almost out of sight of her friend. Looking back and seeing Talon struggling to catch up, the little Fletchinder laughed to herself. She was just that good. Turning her head back around, she continued flying onward, going back up above the clouds in the hopes of losing Talon in the midst of all the grey. For as they had been flying, the two friends had slowly crossed over into gloomier weather, and the sky, no longer quite so clear, was filled with thick, grey clouds.

As Phoenix continued through the clouds, a looming feeling of doubt started to settle over her. Glancing back, she saw that no one was chasing her, but she still felt uneasy. She decided to dip back out of the clouds and go back with Talon. When she exited, however, Talon was nowhere in sight, and she was in an area of land that she had never seen before.
Fluttering in place, she looked around at the earth below her. There was little to no vegetation, and it looked barren and dead. The wind flew in as a chilling cold gust, almost sweeping Phoenix out of the sky. Flapping her wings in order to regain her balance, she decided to take a closer look at this suspicious land. She dove, using her wings to soften her fall, and, coming to a stop, she set herself gently on the ground.
Once she landed, the wind became even more hostile, whipping through her feathers as if it were trying to freeze her to death. Phoenix gave her feathers an anxious ruffle and walked forwards, her thin legs tik-takking on the cold ground.
As she traveled deeper into this mysterious new land, her cloud of uneasiness only grew larger, but so did her curiosity, growing to rival the anxiety fluttering in her chest. She weaved in between thin forests and dead-looking bramble bushes, no signs of life anywhere. Just then, she heard something up ahead. Straining her vision, she saw a flickering light coming from inside a cave. Her heart fluttered with curiosity and fear. Should she go investigate? She decided yes, and walked forwards, trying to appear non-threatening so whatever was in the cave didn't attack her. Then, she reached the cave. With a deep breath, she walked inside, feeling her heart hammering against her chest.
She looked around and made eye contact with a confused and angry-looking Abra.

Isseah looked up from her journal and nodded, quickly catching onto the Sceptile's determination. It doesn't matter how powerful any individual is, as long as they fight with it together. Isseah had never heard that saying before, "United, we stand, divided, we fall," but it sounded deep so she decided to go with it. "Yeah!" she exclaimed. "We can do this! Together."
With a smile, she finished speaking and went back to writing in her journal, though she was nearly finished.

As she finished writing the last strokes of letters onto her journal page, Isseah felt the temperature cool as the sun dipped below the horizon, leaving behind only small streaks of red and orange like blood across the dark sky. Sighing, she placed her pen back in its spot and closed the journal, setting it inside one of her pockets.
Now what? she thought.

Floria listened quietly as the new, older Pokémon explained her plans. They seemed about as pleasing as you could get down here, but at least it was something. In the new light, she could finally examine herself, and she saw that her fur was a rusty-looking orange. Great. Her fur was messy, and she could tell her leg was messed up, for she was pretty certain her knee wasn’t supposed to bend like that.

The other Pokémon shared looks of fear and hope, and Floria felt those emotions deep down as well. But her spirit was all but crushed, and she couldn’t find the energy to be hopeful again. Maybe she could get back to her family... maybe she could escape and finally live again. But that life wouldn’t come easily. Was she willing to put in the effort to make it happen?

She told herself yes, she was. She wanted to get out of here so desperately. Curiosity for the shiny Eevee started growing, but bearing in mind what she had said, she decided against asking any questions, and simply re-adjusted her position to be more comfortable, despite the screaming protests from her leg. With a wince, she laid her head on her hoofs, keeping her ears perked so she could hear what the shiny Eevee had to say.

Floria heard a new voice speak up, and her heart fluttered with hope. There was more! The voice sounded so scared though... she immediately felt sympathy for them, and spoke up herself, “Hello! My name is Floria, I only want to help. I’m not sure how much help I can be, seeing as I’m stuck here as well, but I promise I’m not here to hurt you.”
She tried to make her voice as gentle as possible, to reassure the new voice that she wasn’t a threat and there was no reason to be scared. “What’s your name?” She asked. “Are you alright?”

“That’s alright,” Floria said, glad that Linii’s voice had started to calm. “I’m sure I could help you if I could just get out of this cage.” She glanced around. There seemed to be no way in or out of this thing, which was disappointing and also confusing. How did she get in if there was no way out? An exit also serves as an entrance, and vice versa.

She felt something cold and wet drop onto one of her ears. She flicked it off, looking up, when another drop plopped onto her eye. Blinking, she became confused. Was there a leak in her cage? More water droplets followed, and soon her ears were all but soaked. She gave an annoyed huff. She didn’t quite mind being wet but it wasn’t the most comfortable. Hopefully this leak is only in her cage, however. She didn’t want Linii to be hurt more.

She tried shifting her position so the water couldn’t reach her, but it sent another tremor of pain through her leg and she gritted her teeth. Shifting backwards, pressing up against the back of her cage, she got out of the drip’s range and watched as water slowly splashed on her floor, making little plip, plop, plip, plop sounds.

Floria was quiet for a moment. Linii was quite obviously not ok, but she decided not to press it. Instead, she sighed and replied, "I would like to get out too. This is awful."
She flattened her ears against the new roar, but she didn't say anything.
With a sigh, she continued, "If you ever need to talk, I'll be here." She smiled, even though Linii wouldn't be able to see it in the darkness, and laid her head back on her paws. Linii's frustrated roars must have woken up more Pokemon. Maybe they'll be able to talk to others more. The thought gave her slight hope.
She was worried about Linii though. And were they ever going to get out of here? What was going to happen to them? She squeezed her eyes shut, not wanting to think about it, but the thoughts kept on creeping up on her, their icy claws grasping at her consciousness, trying to get her to panic.
She hadn't had a panic attack since Olive broke his leg, almost four years ago now. She certainly didn't want to have to deal with one here, now, in this awful place. Hopefully something will happen soon and they can get out of here.

Floria's eyes flew open at the sound of the massive roar. Panic flooded over her mind and she pressed her ears flat against her head in fear and an attempt to drown out the sound. She heard a clang ring out, and the roar seemed to be coming from nearby. Against her better judgement, she un-flattened her ears and perked them in order to tell exactly where the sound was coming from. It seemed to be coming from... Linii's cage! Was something in her cage?! Worry started churning with her panic. No... nothing could have gotten in. Was it Linii?? Why was she so mad?
Worry for the friendly Pokemon she was talking to overtook her former panic, and she let out a soft nicker. "Linii...?" she asked quietly, her voice rimmed with fear. "Are you alright?"

The bright flash of light hurt Floria's eyes, but she was grateful to finally not be plunged in darkness. She decided not to respond, as Linii already knew she was there, and instead rested her head on her hoofs, being careful of her injured one, letting the light sink in. It was nice knowing others were trapped here too, in a weird way. It told her she wasn't alone. Man, what a story this would make...
If she survived it and got back to tell.
No! You can't think like that! she scolded herself. But it was becoming more and more difficult to stay hopeful in this dark, dank, and moldy cell. She sighed, her eyes drifting closed, her mind slowly settling into an uneasy sleep.

Floria beamed, despite everything. "Hello Linii! I'm doing about as well as I can do down here... my leg really hurts."
She grimaced as she tried to move and stretch her cramping muscles, her leg exploded in pain and she gasped. Yup, definitely not trying that again. She re-positioned herself and winced, her stomach churning from breathing in the dank, musty smell of this cage-air. "How about you?" she asked, gritting her teeth against the new flare of pain.
