Dawnpelt shook her head, " I suppose we'll know when we see it, " she mewed. The dew on the grass dampened her paws as they padded through the forest. As the forest trees thinned, she could see the warm glow of the sun stretching over the desert.

Dawnpelt shook her head, " I think only us two should go. The situation with the rogue cats is...concerning. I don't want to take too many warriors from camp. " she mewed quietly. "The mission's purpose is also a serious one. " Dawnpelt shifted her paws beneath her. " We will be seeking for a possible new camp, should we be unable to defend this one," she spoke softly as to not let the other warriors hear.

" We'll make haste, don't worry. I will leave at dawn, " Dawnpelt said, rising to her paws. " I hope sleep finds us both tonight, " she said, touching her nose gently to Flamestar's before walking down the high ledge. She paused in the center of the camp, listening to the soft sounds of cats murmuring to each other in their dens. She noticed Dusty carrying prey into the elder's den, evidently deciding to stay another night. Looks like we may have adopted an elder..., she thought. The old cat was odd, but not malicious. Dawnpelt continued walking, heading towards the warrior's den, where Ashpelt had already lay in his moss nest. She curled up around him, purring a greeting.

Dawnpelt gave a small smile and dipped her head in respect. " Thank you, Flamestar... I just want what is best for our clan, " she said. " I'll take one or two cats with me, we can't spare any more. " Dawnpelt thought for a moment of who would be best for such a mission, " This would be a last resort solution...if all else goes awry. If we must flee, and cannot return, " she said. " Perhaps Icestar would have words of advice for us, " Dawnpelt mewed, thinking of their own plight having to abandon their home.

"Desertclan is more than just our borders," Dawnpelt said, taken aback by her leader's tone. " Even if we have to leave, if we are together, that is all that matters. " Dawnpelt looked up as the first stars were appearing in the night sky. Are you watching us, even now?, she silently prayed to Starclan. " We shall continue to strengthen our warriors. I think we should send a small patrol further into the desert, as well, seeking for possible new camps that are away from the threat of the rogues, " Dawnpelt suggested.

Duskwind came in through the bramble tunnel, with an air of uneasiness around the him and the rest of the patrol. He saw Dawnpelt over by the nursery and gestured to Fallentree and Feathercloud as he walked in her direction.

Dawnpelt looked up as the cats approached, her ears flicking back as she picked up on the mood. " This doesn't look like good news, " she said. Duskwind shook his head, and Dawnpelt nodded. " We'll speak away from here, " she said, and walked towards the high ledge, away from the other cats in camp.
