Kowai made a face. "But that's exactly what I meant, we don't kill people! I'd never want to do that, and I know you wouldn't either, Hiso-ku!"

Hisoka. Hisoka. Not Hiso-ku. But there was something that bugged her about Hisoka's eyes. That glare he had... She'd have to watch her back.

Nagisa Aoki's POV

"..." Nagisa watched Amano leave, and reached out a hand, startled. Oh, no... what if he wasn't safe out there!? What if he ended up hurt, or worse?

"A-Amano! Wait!" Nagisa cried. But he'd already left. And Nagisa wasn't sure if he wanted to leave Niwa all alone... she sighed.

"Oh, I hope he'll be okay... Niwa? Do you think he'll be alright?" he asked nervously, glancing over at his other friend.

But, Nagisa, however hopeful she tried to be... couldn't help but wonder if they wouldn't all be alright. As much as he tried not to...

Kowai clapped her hands together, and smiled extremely cheerfully and angelically at the newcomer. "Hey! Like Hisoka pointed out, my name is Kowai Kurai. And you have no reason to suspect us- of causing people to die- whatsoever!" Nailed it. "I mean, it would be a good idea for us to bunk together. You see, Hisoka and I have an agreement here, that whoever is inside of our club, they get staying alive privileges! Not that either of us would kill anyone, of course! That'd be horrible!" She whimpered, and wiped away a tear. "I wouldn't want anyone to die..."

Nagisa Aoki's POV

Nagisa flinched. "O-Oh! Amano, you shouldn't be going out alone under these circumstances! Maybe- I should- come with you... to get the..." Nagisa paused. "But then Niwa's all alone..." He glanced at her hands.

"If only we had another bunkmate... it's too bad Nakata's not here. I hope he made it back to his dorm safely!" Then, Nagisa had an idea. "Wait, maybe- I could go get the blankets! While... you both stay here and get comfortable? I'm sure I'll be fine!"

Besides, no one would kill anyone, I'm sure. And... I wouldn't want my dormmates to risk... losing their lives... It had occurred to Nagisa that he'd be risking his own life, performing this task. But she was perfectly willing to do so, if it meant his new friends wouldn't end up hurt, or anyone else.

"What is it?" she asked, swishing her head, trying to see what Hisoka was looking at. What could he be so startled at?... Suddenly, she saw what he was looking at. She froze. "W-Well, that's- odd." The girl seemed a little more on edge now. Although she tried not to show it... hopefully... he didn't---

Suzume Fujimori's POV

Suzume made it back to her dorm with Megami. She stiffened at what she saw at her door, and she immediately swiped it and tucked it under her lab coat, hoping Megami wouldn't notice. "That was an odd sign!" she improvised quickly, forcing a grin.

Great. Not suspicious at all! "Let's... go inside." She slowly opened the door, half-expecting there to be some demonic sacrifice happening in there- surprise! No demonic sacrifice ritual.

The room did look, rather boring, though. Better boring than dangerous, she mused. "So... Megami. This is my dorm. I guess we should go to sleep now?" she asked.

Nagisa Aoki's POV

Nagisa nodded vigorously, a determined expression upon his face. "Right! Let's go, then!"

She took Amano and Niwa's hands and headed to his dorm, but on the way, Nagisa stopped suddenly and started sneezing. "ACHOO! A-Ah! ACHOO! Oh- oh my goodness. I'm so sorry! I- Stupid allergies... it must be all the dust in here. I'm not seriously allergic to anything besides peanuts, but... yeah, heh. You know. Let's just keep going!" Nagisa did proceed to keep going, and then, eventually, they arrived. "Hey! So- um- we're h-" Nagisa accidentally let go of both their hands and paled, going as still as the walls. She was staring at the portrait on the door...

Femi blinked and squirmed away. "Ugh. You." He buried his face in the pillow, staying as far away from Suko as possible. Good grief, why had he said it? Now he regretted saying it... this- this weirdo- was funny. Okay. Not that he really was an expert at... making friends with anybody...

Maybe he should be grateful, at the thought of his first one. He sighed. But he wasn't sure he could trust anyone so easily...

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai almost narrowed her eyes but stopped herself. Did he... do something just now? She shook the feeling away and stared at him with wide and innocent eyes.

"Oh, Hisoka! I'd never think of doing anything," she chirped cheerily. "Don't you worry about it! You can trust me!" She knew that was as much of a lie as that you could trust a dog not to eat all your food while you were away, or an untrained cat not to catch a nearby mouse. "We're friends, don't you worry!" But she got the feeling he did worry. Everything about him seemed to worry...

Suzume Fujimori's POV

Suzume looked startled a moment, and then shook the sensation away and smiled slightly. "Of course, Megami! Come along." She grabbed the other student by the hand, jerking her in the direction of the dorms, not realizing how awkward this probably was.

But the whole time, within her mind... she pondered over the situation at hand. How could one cafeteria meeting fix everything, when no one was at ease? She had a strange feeling... a very strange feeling... one of the students would be dead by tomorrow. And she didn't doubt it...

Nagisa Aoki's POV

"A-Amano! Wait!" Nagisa ran after him. "Ar-are you alright? I was just thinking... about what Niwa said, what if all three of us could bunk together?" he asked. "And... if- you don't mind me asking, why did you run off like that? Is everything okay?" She smiled as warmly as he could at Amano, but the worry was still clearly there upon his face. Nagisa couldn't believe this...

Femi made a stiff growling noise, turning to look at Suko. “Wh-What’s the deal with you?! Are you- are you trying to be my friend? Or are you messing with me? Planning on manipulating and trying to kill me? Or are you…”

He coughed, considering what the person had said, now, and earlier. “Are you… flirting with me?” He narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms. “Th-that’s… so weird.” He almost laughed, but he stifled it, clapping his hand over his mouth.

Someone bothering to flirt with him, huh? That was- really odd and unusual to say the least. It could be manipulation. “You’re… funny, Suko.” Great, compliment the weird person. Maybe it’ll get them to not kill you. But he couldn’t suppress a small smile.

Kowai Kurai’s POV

Kowai smiled brightly and nodded. “Yes! We should be going! And, oh, you’re oh so welcome! Do you think we should bunk together to be sure that we’ll both be safe tonight?”

But then she felt a twinge of worry at what she had said. If Hisoka died, she’d be the first suspect. Of course, he had said that earlier. On the other hand, if she died, Hisoka would be the first suspect… curious. She had a feeling, however, that Hisoka wouldn’t kill her.

It didn’t feel like he trusted her, certainly not. But he might not want to kill her, at least not yet. Kowai was uncertain as to how she had reached such a conclusion, but she did feel strangely certain that it was true. All the same, she should probably try to seek out more allies in this place than just Hisoka.

Suzume Fujimori’s POV

Suzume heard Amano’s shout. So he thought the “working together, finding a way out of here, tireless optimism” approach was best? She shrugged. “It might be a good idea for us all to meet in the cafeteria, though,” she mused to herself. So long as no one was left alone…

Nagisa Aoki’s POV

Nagisa nodded and cheerfully raised a fist. “I’m glad you’re feeling more positive about this, Amano! I think you’re right. We should head back to the dorms for now…”

But she felt queasy, hands shaking, trembly… What if not everyone made it back to the dorms? Nononono… That wouldn’t happen. There were worse things to worry about, but it’s not like such worse things would happen…

“I- I think I’m heading to my dorm. You coming, Amano?” he asked, trying not to show her nervousness. Things would be fine. They’d be fine…

Femi coughed. “I’m already in here, you know.” Not like the announcer could hear him. He sighed. “W-Well… anyway- I- are you going to- leave my room, or?”

He didn’t feel comfortable with the idea of sleeping in this room with his probably insane roommate. Roomm- How could he think that?! He didn’t even- augh. Forget it. He collapsed onto the bed facefirst and tried not to burst into tears again. This whole situation was so stupid, and awful, and hopeless…

Kowai Kurai’s POV

Kowai glanced over at Hisoka, a concerned look upon her face. “Oh, no! Dorms are closing up soon. Sooo… should we get to the bottom of this mystery, or just leave it for tomorrow?” she drawled, tracing the walls with her fingertips.

Admittedly, she was curious about who had done this. But it wouldn’t be safe to be wandering the halls at night…

Suzume Fujimori’s POV

Suzume snapped alert to the sound of the announcement and uttered curses under her breath. “Ah, Megami. I apologize for my language. I just realized… the announcement stated we have to be heading off to our dorms.”

She paused. “I don’t really know you all that well, but it’s most likely unsafe to bunk alone. And you don’t seem like the type of person to kill me for no reason, so- would you be willing to bunk with me?” She had a very intent look upon her features as she asked.

Rather awkwardly, she shuffled her hands into her pockets. This was honestly a most awkward question… she and Megami were not even acquaintances, much less friends, they were little more than strangers. Better little more than strangers than total strangers, she mused.

Nagisa Aoki’s POV

Nagisa almost jumped, startled. “O-Oh no! I hope Nakata heard the announcement… should we head back to the dorms and hope Nakata made it back?” Anxiously, she clutched his vest, pinching and prodding the fabric. “We can’t let Nakata get locked out…” This was an unfortunate situation. Hopefully everyone would be safe…

"Wh-what are you- talking about?" Femi's head spun with how fast this strange person talked. He needed a moment to process the words. "Why should you care about controlling anything?... It's all going to fall down around you anyway," he blurted before he could stop himself, quickly clapping his hand over his mouth, eyes widening.

"I-I mean..." He decided to ignore the other part of what they said. "Why, yes, thank you," he grunted sarcastically in response about the whole "secluded in a room" thing. "It's called "Don't Get Brutally Murdered By A Bunch Of Strangers". Pretty good plan." Suddenly, he realized he wasn't talking all that nervously to this... this stranger that was claiming to be his best friend.

What was he saying?! He couldn't trust this weirdo! He stiffened immediately. "I mean- and you're included in that list!! I don't even- know you!" Ugh... gosh, he was such a mess. The first time someone was actually maybe being nice to him, and trying to be a friend to him... he'd never... even known something like this.

Kowai Kurai's POV

How truly curious. She'd never seen this side of Hisoka before. Not that she had known him long, but... She tilted her head to one side, curious to see how this would go down, and if the culprit would reveal themselves. This was rather peculiar, a scene like this... there hadn't even been any murders yet! Wait... did that typically occur after students had died?

Suzume Fujimori's POV

Suzume nodded her head vigorously in reply, and sighed. She'd gotten through with the tests, and... false alarm. It was poison ivy, not a raspberry plant. Of course... none of the good signs had been there, and the two plants did look rather similar. She located some berries and decided they were most likely poisonous, but she had to test them, surely. Something occurred to her whilst they were doing this. If people were busy like this... it might be a good time for someone to commit a murder...

Nagisa Aoki's POV

Nagisa's face flushed, flattered at his friend's remark. "Aww, th-thank you so much, Amano!" She glanced over at Niwa, a curious look on his face. "Erm- oh! Yes! Let's go!" He started making her way to... "Which way did Nakata go?" she asked awkwardly.

"...I never wanted to take over the world," he muttered. It seemed that Suko was merely talking about what they wanted. "But, um- I think I'll... stay in here." He didn't want to go out there. Going out there would mean talking to people. Going out there might mean getting himself killed... He wanted to board himself up in here, where it'd be safe...

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai's eyes widened. "It seems like... someone broke in here. It looks like there was an explosion!" she yelped. She glanced up and down at the cracks. "Maybe you could bunk up with someone else?" she queried. But knowing him... he's probably going to want to investigate who did this. How did she know that? She had no idea.

Suzume Fujimori's POV

"Megami, I think I might've found something edible!" she called. "I think it's a raspberry plant. But... it might be poison ivy. I'll have to get a closer look. There aren't any berries on it, so... that's a bad sign..." She just had to analyze the patterns... but this made her nervous, and excited at the same time. This could possibly be edible! Or, it might not be. She had to brace herself for a disappointing find.

Nagisa smiled, cupping his hand together to her torso. “I like you, Amano. You’re always trying to help everyone else and keep everything under control. It’s nice to see someone doing that.” She glanced away. “I mean- not everyone goes out of their way to do that. And you don’t even know me, or anyone here, really…”

Femi nearly jumped, startled at Suko immediately making for the whip. "H-H-Hey! Don't touch it! It could be- dangerous." And anyone being anywhere near a weapon... that makes me nervous. "And, um... s-sure, I guess?" Sharing a dorm?! What are they planning to do? Kill me in my sleep? "What's the point of... taking over the school?" he asked, unsure if he wanted to know the answer...

Kowai Kurai scowled. "You're soooo mean, Hisoka!" But she started after him... she had to keep an eye on him, after all. I wonder if he was planning on setting it up that way to frame me for something... One thing was for sure, she didn't know if she could keep him around. She didn't trust him. But it wouldn't mean she'd kill him. No, she'd figure out something else...

Suzume made a face. She was finding a lot of poisonous plants, even some she didn't recognize at first. Surely, there had to be something non-poisonous here... or, perhaps she could extract the poison. Something she did tell herself, though, was it might be useful to keep some poisonous plants for herself, or maybe even find some weapons. Just in case, well, things got ugly with someone. She wasn't exactly the kind of person people held grudges against. Well, okay, she was, but never enough for someone to kill her, right?... That just didn't seem rational. Maybe it didn't seem rational to her, but perhaps to someone else...

"You're right... we probably should. It's dangerous Nakata went off alone! I'm not implying, someone might kill them, but- there are a lot of other potential dangers at this school." Nagisa paused. Oh, well- that- oh wow…” Femi spotted the whip. “I don’t recall putting that there… is it- because of my talent?” he murmured. “That’s- odd…” An unsettling feeling crept over him. Was it meant to be used as… a weapon? He would never hurt an animal like that…

”Maybe it could be useful in a way you don’t expect. But, yes, let’s go.” Suzume began looking around, trying to figure out where the plants were kept. It felt good to be productive in some way, like this. It could save all of their lives, after all…
