Kyoto stepped into the prep room, he let out a sigh of relief, while taking off his shirt, a sharp pain flew up his spine. He winced a little, but shook it off. “Good job on the first round guys, let’s keep it up!”
Tanith sighed, she looked at the bruise on his back, it was completely black, “You guys might want to take a look at this. This bruise looks pretty bad.” She took a piece of cold cloth and pressed against it, Kyoto jolted forward but tried his best to stay still. “Are you feeling alright Kyo?”
“Yeah, he just kinda hit a funny spot, I can still move though.” He stretched, and winced again. “I’ll just have to take it easy. That’s all.”
Maine stepped in front of Kyoto, “Keep your guard up, our next opponents will have more skill and speed than what you might expect, watch this match on the TV, and observe.” On the screen, he could see two people, and it looked like they were multiplying. “You see that? Those guys are so fast there’s an after image. They move faster than we can see.”
Kyoto snickered, “Nah, the real ones are…” He stood up slowly, and indicated the two real fighters, “Here and there. Your vision is just a bit slow, I’m bumping up my energy to keep up with them. 53%. That’s all I’m using to watch them right now, it feels like it anyway.”
Luke studied a bit closer, “Yeah he’s not wrong, they’re not Nightwalkers, I think they might be Night Demons. They’re a different class of Nightwalker that’s a tad bit faster, but they don’t pack as much of a punch. That’s the only real downside. If these guys know how to harness their power, they could become hitmen that work for the government.”
Tanith sighed, “If they worked for the Feds they’d be in a world of trouble, the government is becoming more corrupt, power hungry to wipe out any rogue Flayers, criminal organizations like the Lyumas and Hoderns. They’d be better off on the rebel side, fighting the government and organizations. I know rebel doesn’t sound like a good thing, but there’s no real ‘good side’ anymore.”
Maine sighed, “She’s not wrong, Feds aren’t the best ones to be working for, even the Royal Family turned away from politics, they caught a lot of heat from it. And that heat powered the Lyumas, allowing them to hire a group of Mindscapers to attack them last year.”
“We were there for that! Kyoto, you remember right? This really tough guy came up outta nowhere and laid you out, but you took him down using that special form of yours, unstable as it was.” Luke smiled, with a look of triumph on his face. “I remember all that like it was yesterday.”
“So don’t I, only like it was last year, that outburst knocked me out for a few weeks. Trust me, it wasn’t a fun ride.” Kyoto groaned, looking at his hands. “Anyway, how’s that bruise looking? I started to put a little energy behind the healing process, not a whole lot of it however. I don’t want to burn everything up just for a bruise.”
“It’s looking better, but you should still guard that area, watch your backside. Y’know?”
“I’ll try, but I’m more worried about not getting clipped in the skull by one of these guys. Trust me, I value what brain cells I still have. Who knows how many I’ve lost due to this kid sparking me all the time.”

Human: Self explanatory.
Hybrid: This can be a half-breed of two different Flayer races, or Flayer and Human. Flayer-Flayer Hybrids can merge the races powers, giving a good advantage in combat, however there can be repercussions, a higher burden and unstable power, or less stamina when using two race abilities. Flayer-Human Hybrids have slightly higher senses, and their power is boosted a little bit.
Flayer: These beings are humanoid, however, they unlock a certain power based on their race. (I'm providing the basic ten from the Main story so far, except MindScapers, more to come later?)
- Aura Ranger: This is a generally strong type of Flayer, however, the more power they expend, the more kickback there is. Using a high amount of their power at once can knock out the user for hours, days, even weeks.
- Aqualies: Ability to control water, creating it from thin air or extracting moisture from the ground.
- Brawlers: Brawlers have improved physical abilities, including speed and power.
- Flamers: The ability to control fire, creating sparks with the snap of a finger.
- Naturials: This type of Flayer can control nature, mostly plants. They can create vines from the ground or grow trees instantly.
- Nightwalkers: A very speedy race of Flayer, the human eye cannot see them at max speed. But most novice Flayers can follow their movements.
- Night Demons: Similar to the Nightwalker, except even faster, at the expense of strength however. Night Demons aren't as strong as Nightwalkers, but they can still be useful in tight situations. Only highly experienced Flayers can follow their movements.
- Shockers: They have the ability to control electricity. Harnessing the static in their bodies or taking it from other people, this race can really turn the tides in a battle, the more electricity they have stored in their bodies, the more powerful they become. However, too much electricity can burn them out, knocking them out for a few hours.
- Terra: Can change the terrain of the ground, and can levitate boulders and other relative sized landforms.
- Telekinetic: These Flayers can read minds and lift objects using Psychic abilities.
