As Jiro was exploring the dungeon, he paused as the faint sound of footsteps caught his attention. Before he knew it, an Umbreon hybrid hit him with a Dark Pulse. Jiro took the attack head on, as he did not have the opportunity to dodge the move. While his sturdy exoskeleton was useful against strong physical attacks, he was at a disadvantage when it came to long-range moves utilizing the special attack stat. Was this Umbreon telling him to leave? 'I can't leave yet, not while I've just entered the dungeon.' he thought to himself before responding to the Umbreon hybrid's demand. "I'm afraid I can't do that." if it came down to it, Jiro was prepared to fight. However, from what Jiro could tell about the situation was that it didn't seem like this mysterious pokemon was going to let him off the hook so easily.

Jiro squinted, adjusting his eyes to the change in lighting as he entered the dungeon. He took a moment to get a grip of his surroundings before proceeding forward, keeping a lookout for any points of interest or potential enemies while exploring the dungeon. 'There have been a lot of violent pokemon cases in mystery dungeons lately, I should remain on guard.' Jiro thought to himself while he advanced forward. During his travels from town to town it would not be uncommon for him to run into multiple enemies when passing through a dungeon, as such he had become rather accustomed to the nature of such areas. However, this would be an entirely different type of challenge, and whether or not he would succeed on his quest would ultimately depend on his decisions while exploring.

Jiro heard Kao's demand and paused, turning around to face him. "I understand, thank you for your concern. I'll be able to handle myself just fine, I'm a very capable fighter when it boils down to it." he told Kao. Despite Jiro's confident statement, a small part of him did indeed worry about the potential dangers inside the maze-like dungeon. What he would encounter in such a place was unbeknownst to him, however, he was prepared for the worst. "No problem, hopefully we'll meet again." Jiro replied before continuing into the now restored dungeon, slowly disappearing from view.

"Alright Kao, nice to meet you too." Jiro replied, "You lost your memory? I'm sorry to hear that, but if this place is familiar to you I hope your memory recovers soon." His antennae twitched before speaking once more, "Yes this dungeon is known for being a very dangerous place. However, great treasures lie at the bottom. Apparently your wish will be granted if you reach the end of the dungeon." Jiro added. 'I've come here knowing full well that I may not make it out of here alive, but if the rumors are true the risk is well worth it.' he thought to himself. He was determined to give it his all despite the hurdles ahead. "Well, I must get going. I noticed you seem to be injured. The next town over should have an infirmary, it shouldn't be too far of a journey even with wounds such as yours. Stay safe out there." Jiro stated before walking past Kao, heading towards the dungeon entrance.

Before Jiro had any time to process what was happening he was blinded by a flashing light. Soon, the landscape around him had completely changed. The entrance to the dungeon, once covered in ruins, looked as if it was completely untouched by the hands of time. 'What happened?' Jiro stood with a shocked expression plastered on his face. 'Did this pokemon have something to do with the dungeon suddenly changing its appearance?' he thought to himself. He walked forward, glancing at the unknown pokemon before him once again, Jiro noticed that he seemed to be just as rattled as he had been, perhaps even more so. 'So far, he doesn't seem to be a bad pokemon..." at this point Jiro stood at the entrance to the dungeon in front of Kao. "My name's Jiro, and I just happened to be passing by. Do you know what's happened here?" he asked.

Up until this point, Jiro had always been a wanderer; a weary warrior driven by the desire for raw strength and challenging those deemed worthy of his aptitude. However, when rumors detailed that a certain dungeon at the depths of the sea could grant your heart's desire Jiro was determined to find out the truth for himself, albeit with a conflicting mixture of nerves and excitement. Jiro continued to lumber along the rough terrain, and once the entrance to the maze was within eyeshot he caught a glimpse of another pokemon in the distance. 'Strange, I've never seen a pokemon like them before.' he thought to himself as he drew closer to the dungeon. "Are you alright?" Jiro called out to the mysterious pokemon, "You shouldn't be around here, this dungeon is rumored to be very dangerous." he warned.
