Innocent had noticed Luciel leaving from the record room. He walked into the room soon after, a little annoyed.
Innocent: Excuse me, why are you outsiders in here?

Auto was with Cerberus in the meeting hall of the mountain. The two were debating something. Odd for Cerberus, who normally writes things off and goes on with his life.
Auto: Hypothetical. If you hadn't announced your presence you would've caught us with ease.
Cerberus: Annoying duck, then where's the terror? Do you know how weak and boring it would be if the hunt didn't involve a chase?
Auto: Counter query. Would you have succeeded and lessen your chance of failure in the shrine if you didn't go with the idea of "weakness" and "strength"?
The two kept holding each other's gaze suddenly startled by Bastet who ran in with a stone slab in her front paws. She placed it on the ground, and sat down. The Purrloin was catching her breath.
Bastet: Geez... I never had to carry this while on two paws before... Have either of you seen Alpha?
Cerberus: Go straight from here and down the elites corridor. Turn right at the first tunnel you see. There should be a torch above Alpha's quarters.
Bastet: Thanks! She ran off.

Bastet moved the slab close to her eyes and stared at the images silently. She then spoke.
Bastet: It's a little... Weird. It says, "The winged creature that was once a symbol of life... A whirlpool of destruction and chaos. The ruins of what I've once known. Fallen to a creature of the night."
Luciel: Whirlpool... Creature of the night?
Bastet: Wait, wait! There's more. She kept tracing a paw along the slab. "Its heart... Permanently locked. The corrupted presence of the winds."
Luciel: That's all?
Bastet: It looks like it wasn't finished. There a portion here that wasn't carved correctly. The last image appeared to be a faceless dragon of some form. It was hard to tell what the image represented.

Luciel: I guess... I'll need to tell Alpha about you. Cerberus probably smelled you nearby.
Bastet ran out holding a small stone slab.
Bastet: Ta-da~!
Luciel: Bastet, don't run with the records. You might trip.
Bastet: But this looks cool, and I'm excited... It was a low relief carving of a giant winged creature flying over a region. Oddly, the carving had images of strange buildings. Those that wouldn't exist.

Bastet: That one records the Ice Death from a few years ago. Apparently there was a slight issue of frostbite in the area afterwards.
Luciel: We don't have the full details, but we were told a hero vanquished them.
Bastet: Mhmm! Oh, wait... I think Alpha had some stuff she used to explain Living Phantoms earlier.
The Purrloin ran off, most likely talking about Shadow Pokemon. She was in the back, scampering around to find the correct slab.
Luciel: As for being rude, you only have to worry about my father, Innocent, saying something. He doesn't bluff when it comes to punishments.

They arrived to a secluded part of the mountain tunnels. Bastet was the first to enter, but immediately told off by an Absol.
Absol: Hey! What are you outsiders doing here?
Luciel followed.
Luciel: Calm down, Cerberus gave permission.
Absol: Oh! Sorry, Ryari. You and your umm... Company can look around. He left, leaving an annoyed Luciel in the record room with the rest of the group. There are old slabs located along the walls here. It's somewhat easy to interpret, but Bastet is more fluent in translation.
Bastet: Feel free to look around.

Cerberus looked up from his nap, he gave the group and stare before speaking.
Cerberus: If you have the approval from one of us, and Ryari is still recognized by her previous position here. Then you have what you need.

Cerberus: Sure... Just don't break anything, the slates are fragile.
Bastet smiled and turned to face the group.
Bastet: Good thing I have perfect memory! Come on, before Cerberus changes his mind.
The Purrloin ran off, requesting everyone to follow. Luciel looked to Drew.
Luciel: Sorry, you should keep low until the higher ups are aware of you being here. They might assume you're spying or something.

Alpha: Mhmm. Ah, let's see... That Houndoom you just met, his title is Cerberus. He was training some of our members are few weeks ago and one of the members... Started taking on a more hostile appearance that fits the description of a "Shadow Pokemon".
Innocent: Ah, the Living Shadow incident. Some of us still have scars from that. It's best to ask Cerberus about that, actually...
Cerberus: No need. I'm back from the infirmary. He walked to the Absol and Mightyena, covered in bandages on part of his body. Cerberus walked to the other side of the rock, giving the trio a sense of unity and duality towards Innocent. It was sudden. He was pushing himself to defeat me in a training session and it escalated. Eventually, Alpha and Innocent had to be involved. The Poochyena is fine now, but he was basically partly corrupted. Who knows what would've happened if they were still in that state.
Bastet: So any one can be corrupted...?
Alpha: Sadly, yes, Cat. She sighed. I'd keep alert anywhere you plan to travel. I'd say the chances are low in towns and all, places with less stress... But it's possible.

Alpha: No, it's fine. The Mightyena put her paw out to tell Innocent to back down. Really. She sounded relaxed as she spoke. As for your question, Lucario, I don't exactly know where they originated... But, well, I guess to summarize. Shadow Pokemon are just normal Pokemon.
Luciel: "Normal"? How so? They have unique properties. We actually encountered them not too long ago.
Alpha: When I say "Normal", Ryari--
Luciel: Please. Luciel shook her head, looking down. Don't call me that.
Alpha: Right, I forgot about that. I'm sorry. She cleared her throat, calling the Absol by her known name. 'Luciel.' I don't mean to say that Shadow Pokemon are just like, say: Eevees, Puruglys, and so on. What I mean to say is--
Innocent: They're just like us. In a more corrupted state.

Innocent: It was fairly recent... Both Innocent and Alpha seemed deep in thought as they brought up the issue. The old Absol was looking down and the Mightyena on the rock was gazing at the cavern ceiling.

Alpha: Oh, "Shadow Pokemon"? Bastet, I'm assuming you suggested myself for advice?
Bastet: Yep! You had a lot of these stories when I first arrived. Thought it might be a good idea to consult you. It looked just like how you described them! Dark, shadowy figures. Red eyes. They were pretty strong!
Alpha: Um... Well, alright. I do happen to know about what you call "Shadow Pokemon". We happen to call them by another name.
Innocent: Living Shadows or Phantoms. If you will.
Alpha: There have been sitings on Sand Continent, if that's what you primarily want to know. As for a Snivy... They wouldn't last long out here without a source of water. I can tell you what else I know, if you wish for that.

Innocent: Alpha, we're back with the intruders.
A masked Mightyena sat at the top of a rock in the center of the room. They looked at the group for several seconds then noticed Cerberus covered in bruises.
Alpha: Someone take Cerberus to the infirmary. Please? Cerberus, join us once you're treated.
A Poochyena and Mightyena came by and began to escort the Houndoom into another cave.
Alpha: Now... A Lucario, Froakie... Shinx... Meloetta(?)... And a Gourgiest... And look who's here. Ryari! She eyed Luciel then looked at Bastet with disappointment. Cat.
Bastet: Hi, Alpha!~
Alpha: Why are you outsiders here? She sighed.

Inside the cavern were many Houndours, Absols, and Poochyenas. There were occasionally some Mightyenas and Houndooms as well. They eyed the group.
Luciel: Ah, heads up. Don't try to make eye contact with them unless they talk to you. They may not take that kindly with you being outsiders. She advised.
Bastet: Almost everyone here is what you call... "Zendo phobics."
Luciel: "Xenophobic."

Innocent nodded then tapped the purple Orb. It turned out to be a modified Escape Orb as everyone left the dungeon and arrived in front of the base of a desert mountain. Innocent tossed the used Orb back to the Houndour. The Houndour struggled to catch it out of being surprised.
Cerberus: Let's get this over with...
Innocent and Cerberus started to walked ahead into a tunnel.
Luciel: Home sweet, home. She sounded bitter saying this.
Bastet: Guys, come on~ The Purrloin jumped off Luciel's back and dashed after the old Absol and Houndoom.
