Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai smiled one last time, and waved. There was something strangely different about this smile... "I guess this is goodbye. It's been fun, everyone! Okay, Monokuma. Whatever you have prepared, I'm ready."

Suzume Fujimori's POV

How was she so eerily calm? Did she want to die that badly? "Why did she confess," Suzume murmured to herself. And slowly, a shiver came over her. She and Megami had suspected something similar...

The Ultimate Arsonist. Yet it still chilled her to hear it. Kowai had very clearly been lying about accidentally burning her family's home down. Just how many did she burn down, to be deemed worthy of such a menacing title?... no wonder she kept it a secret all this time, if she was going to kill like this.

But... why did she confess? "Wait... Kowai! I still have to ask you something!" Suzume cried. She'll probably lie. But I need to know!

Suzume Fujimori's POV

Suzume felt as though she was going to vomit. She was shaking so hard. They... lived. Because Kowai had confessed. When she would've gotten away with it? Why?... didn't she want them all dead?

"She wants us to continue living," she murmured. "But why..."

Suddenly, she was pulled into reality. "Megami!" she cried, running over and picking her girlfriend up. Oh wow sports

She grimaced. So Femi was going to be avenged.

But she's right. I still failed. I failed everyone. They'll all die... because of me.

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai sighed. "Keiki, I'll be honest, I think you're shallow and I dislike your fashion sense. Megami, I think you're... oh. Well." She noticed Megami had collapsed. Suzume held onto her tighter as though she was slipping away, glaring at Kowai. "Tell her when she wakes up for me? If you want. Megami, I respect you and I think you're a very intelligent individual but at the same time I think you're pathetic. Buraddo, my only impression of you is that of an angsty teen who thinks she has a sense of humor. Majikaruman, you're literally just a love interest. Hisoka, I really don't like you, and yet..." She paused.

"I've never known anyone so much like me. Who I understood so well." Except one person...

"Chuku, can you stop screaming so much all the time? Suko, I advise you not to think about Femi too long. Make the most of your time, you know?"

"And Niwa!" She waltzed over and gripped his shoulder, with the most twisted smile. "I'll see you later, okay?"

Suzume looked shaken. Kowai knew what she was thinking. What did she mean by that?

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai's face fell a moment. She almost looked... devastated? But then a smile cut across her face like a knife. "Okaay! See you later, sweetheart!" She kissed Koda on the cheek and then backed away. "I never cared about you anyway!" she chirped cheerfully. "It was all just a part of the plan!"

But as she walked away from Koda, she turned her face away from her. She didn't want her to see the slight glistening of something in her eyes.

Somehow... she felt something she'd never felt before.

She walked on over to Suko. "I am sorry, Suko, really," she said in a voice that didn't seem all too genuine. "You know... something Femi said before he died? At first, he didn't want to believe it was you. He'd cried out, "Help me, Suko, help me! PLEASE, GET ME OUT OF HERE! PLEASE! I don't want to die..." but you know, you never heard it when he said it. When he'd banged on the door, bawling his eyes out! He was pleading with you to get him out of there! And then his mind connected it... "They must have brought me here to kill me"."

"I knew... I knew there was something wrong with you!" Suzume sputtered, banging her fists on the ground. "J-j-just WHO ARE YOU, REALLY?! HOW- How can... you do this to people?"

Kowai walked over to Suzume and took her face in her hands. "That... is none of your concern. But you know... you're one to talk about..." She paused. "Well, don't worry! I'll be gone soon anyway!"

Suzume Fujimori's POV

Suzume was SEETHING. "I... I-" Slowly, her hand gripped the lever, and turned to Kowai, her eyes filling with rage...

Kowai Kurai's POV

"Oh, yep! That's the beauty in it, isn't it, Niwa?" Kowai waltzed over and pulled the lever, laughing hysterically. Her voice had a high, unnatural tinge to it. "I had nothing against Amano, you see. It just so happened that he was in that room! But you know! None of you guys even bothered to notice he was missing!" She clapped her hands to the sides of her face. "Daw! Oh."

"And it was just such a plain, clean murder, wasn't it? One that no one would know about. You would've all been safe, never had to go to the Trials ever again! For the time being, at least. And when I killed Femi, yyou know what I did?" She giggled even more hysterically. "Guess? Guess? I lured him into that room with a note about Amano! I pretended it was from Suko and planted it in his bag the night we played Hide and Seek! And get this! He didn't even consider that I could've killed him! He thought HIS OWN BELOVED SUKO HAD DONE IT TO HIM, RIGHT BEFORE HE DIED!! All it took was some alcohol from Keiki's party, which I hid in the sand piles. And then I just had to light the match and then-" She waved her hands around. "SHBOOM!! Fireworks!"

She squealed. "And then as Femi was there, shaking and dying, with the flesh burning away from his face, his last thought dwelled on how his own partner lied to him, and it was what he shakingly wrote with his fingernails! Isn't that sooo funny?" She broke into peals of laughter. Then a disappointed look came upon her face.

"You know, I really couldn't get why none of you could figure it out. I was trying to help you all in the right direction the entire time! And it's funny, isn't it? The only two people who could've said a word had to keep their mouths begrudgingly closed. But you know, I had nothing against Femi, either, you see! It was simply a matter of-" She tapped the side of her face in thought. "Convenience! I just knew, during the party. It would be SO easy to get away with! He just needed to be separated from Suko for one night. And, well, let's just say I wasn't the only one who wanted him dead. Am I correct in saying this, Hisoka Yamanaku?"

"And you knowww, there is an entire other reason for me doing th-" Kowai felt a hard slap across her face. Suzume had gotten up from her podium. "Shut. Up." Her eyes were welling with tears. "GIVE THEM BACK, KOWAI. GIVE. THEM. BACK!" She slapped Kowai across the face again.

"Youch! Okay, okay, jeez, Miss Fujimori, I'm going, I'm going. But you know... are you really in any place to demand my death?" She gave her a dark look. "I know what you did. You think that saving any amount of people, pretending to care about any number of people, will ever take away what you did?"

Suzume's face looked hollow. She slapped Kowai again, this time with less force. "You don't- you don't know what you're talking about," she croaked, her knees buckling beneath her.

"And oh, Koda," Kowai half-murmured with a click of her tongue and a sigh. "You were all too willing to play along. You helped me with this in a way, and for that, I have to say thank you!" She waltzed on over, took Koda's hands, and squeezed them. "My unknowing little accomplice."

"And there's someone else here... you know who you are. You'll thank me for all this later, trust me!" She spun around and put her arms behind her back. "Will that be all, Monokuma?"

Third-Person POV

Suzume was obsessively gnawing on her nails now. OHNONONONONONONO. NO. NONONO. "F-F-Five minutes?" she choked out. "There's no way... no way we can do this in time. We're... we're all doomed. I'm so sorry... nothing short of a miracle could possibly save us all..."

Kowai looked disappointed. She yawned, slowly stood up taller, and tilted her head. "So, you guys have no idea who did it?" Her wide eyes blinked with a certain curiosity to them, and a smile stretched its way across her face. Slowly, she reached for her bag, and dumped out boxes and boxes of matches. She then dropped the bag on the floor.

Suzume was shaking. Her eyes were wide in horror.

"I did it!" the purple-haired girl chirped all too cheerfully. "I killed Femi and Amano."

Suzume Fujimori's POV

Suzume noticed Majikaruman holding a strange cream-colored sheet of paper. "Majikaruman! What do you have there?!" she asked anxiously. "Is that something important to the case?"

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai cast Hisoka an annoyed look with a certain message behind it. Just show them.

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai clasped her hands together and beamed. "Kodaa! I can confirm she was with me too. Koa is innocent as w-" Suzume wagged her index finger, and interrupted. "No. No. No. You two clearly LIKE each other. We need an unbiased third source."

Kowai sighed in frustration. "Ughhh. Fine. Did anyone hear us?"

Suzume Fujimori's POV

Suzume was looking relatively calmer. "Okay. Kowai, where were you at the time?" she asked. "Oh, in my room, with Koda." She yawned. "I was organizing the room."

"Can anyone confirm this?" Suzume asked, thinking deeply about whether she remembered hearing anything.

She glanced over at Hisoka, then Niwa, then Hisoka again. "No one could've gotten in unless... what, Hisoka? Are you implying there was a special way someone could've discovered to get in? And Niwa... that is a good guess. Alcohol is very flammable. Although... here's the thing I'm wondering. Where were the bottles hidden? There weren't any in the room. And we all organized our rooms, right?"

Kowai Kurai's POV

That map he handed to Majikaruman... Oh, Hisoka knew what he was doing with that, alright.

Title: My BBCode is the real victim

Suzume looked at Megami and smiled, feeling slightly reassured. "You might be right... I think this may prove Niwa and Keiki's innocence. But what of... everyone else..."

She considered what had been said... of how no one could've gotten out of the rooms...

Suzume had an idea. "Wait!! Were people let out as soon as they were done their organizing? If that's the case, the suspects are whoever got the organizing done right away!"

...dang it. Did I just... call it Megami? No. I know she'd n-...

No. I don't know that. I just don't want it to be her.

Wait. Waitwaitwait!! "Was there another way... someone could've gotten out of their room?"

Kowai nodded. "That's a good point. Who was done the organizing right away? And hey, here's something I thought of... how was Femi set on fire? So quickly? What could the killer have used?... Also, Monokuma, just checking. Time's ticking? How much time is left?" She tilted her head.

Suzume Fujimori's POV

Suzume forced herself out of her gloomy state, and back into the state of panic she went. "Really?! Where is it? What did you put on it?" she asked frantically. "We only have 16 minutes left..."

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai frowned. Was there a map? Was Hisoka making this up? Where was he going with this?

He's stalling further, isn't he? Ah, I see now...

Suzume was looking at Hisoka pleadingly. A little ironic...

SUZUME FUJIMORI'S POV BUT THE BBCODE GOT BURNED
Suzume clutched at her lab coat thoughtfully. "Well... we can't afford to ponder what was in the bag. Or maybe even how the killer got in and out. We need to somehow find out who did this!" she cried frantically. "Was there a matter of strength? About the bat? Or could anyone here have hit Amano with it? How was Femi burned? If it was done this morning... who could've..."

She suddenly broke down sobbing. "..."

Damn it. Not again.

They were so close...

"Everyone here knew... knew Femi and Suko to be close. Maybe the question isn't who could've been there to do it, so much so as... who could've done it?! Who could've brought themselves to kill Femi and Amano here? We were all so happy, recently. All just getting along. Not thinking about how the outside world might be..."

KOWAI KURAI'S POV

Kowai shifted uneasily. "Well... anyone could've been pretending."

"..."

The scientist didn't respond at first... She'd lost all her composure now. "I just want this to be over now," she choked out. "Kill me now, if you want. Just don't hurt her. Or anyone here... please..."

A flicker of something manifested on Kowai's face. Was it... some kind of pity? "Monokuma... how much time do we have left?" she asked slowly. There was a truth here, that just needed to be found... but there wasn't much time left to find it.

It was all the same to her anyway.

Omniscient POV

”Hisoka.” Suzume forced herself to cool down. “Then tell us what you know. Normally you’d be listing all the facts, and proposing your theories, trying to solve the case. This entire time, you’ve been awfully quiet. You’ve never been like this.”

Kowai looked over at Hisoka with a certain curiosity. There was something different about him now. What, she couldn’t quite tell.

Suzume was beginning to look quite stressed. “Only twenty minutes left?... Everyone, please. Put forth all you know, put forth all you think might be! Otherwise we… might not make it.”

She winced, and began clutching the sides of her head. I can’t. I can’t let this happen again. I can’t let so many people… get hurt, because of me.

Focus, Miss Fujimori.

She thought about what Niwa had said. “So… you’re saying, the killer made Femi think someone else had killed them? Like Suko? And is using that now to frame them? And then we go back to it… who would do that?”

“Well,” Kowai put in, “no one held any grudge against Femi or Amano here, as far as I know. It may have been done for a calculated reason. He may have been vulnerable in some way, and the killer noticed that and took advantage of the opportunity.”

“You mean…” Suzume thought back to the conversation she’d had with Femi back in the Nurse’s Office… she’d thought back to what she’d overheard him saying to Suko…

“You’re saying he wasn’t paranoid enough anymore? And… he’s grown to trust Suko. What if- someone told him to head to the Party Room, and pretended they were Suko? Through… a note?”

Kowai paused. “That might be the significance his bag holds. What’s in it?”

Suzume Fujimori's POV

Suzume inhaled. "Although it is plausible Hisoka could be keeping quiet because he's the killer... it seems more likely he'd try to frame someone and throw suspicion off himself. Wouldn't that be more logical? No. I think he knows something. I think he knows who the killer is, and he doesn't want us to find out. We have discovered no proof that it's Hisoka who committed the crime. So, tell me, Hisoka. If you killed Femi and Amano, prove to us that you did it. OR START F--KING COOPERATING!" she snapped.

"There are lives at stake here, and here you are, doting away, being oh-so-quiet. Giving people strange looks and ambiguous responses that imply you know something. But no killer would act so suspicious on purpose! Tell me, Hisoka, IF YOU ARE THE KILLER, why would you confess that so readily once I bring up that you might be suspicious? No, you're far too self-preserving to do that. You know something, and you're trying to wrongly get yourself caught. WHY?"

Or this is all a carefully articulated ruse to make us think he's NOT the killer. I wouldn't put that past Hisoka, that is always a possibility.

"I'd say the suspects for this case would probably be... Suko, they were closest to Femi, and if the killer did lure him away as I theorized, Suko would've been the most capable of doing so. Flaws in believing it's Suko? Unless they're putting up a really good mask, they were incredibly devastated, shocked, and horrified at Femi's death. Hisoka... he's been so quiet this entire time, and it's apparent he knows something he isn't letting on, but there's nothing outside of that that convicts him. However, I could see him committing such a cleanly organized crime, although I do wonder if it is honorable for Yamanakus to do such a thing. Niwa, he has also been quiet this entire time, and he is one of the people here who also goes by they/them. It seems he also knows something he isn't letting on. Keiki... I don't see them committing an organized crime like this. No offense, Keiki, or I'd imagine you putting more "flair" into it. And... I'm not sure who else."

She paused.

"...Niwa. You brought up that someone may be being framed for the murder. If that is the case, are you implying Femi did not write what we saw on the wall? And are you saying you have a firm suspicion on who it is?" She narrowed her eyes and put her hands on her hips. "Tell us."

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai was looking fidgety. "Monokuma, how much time do we have left?! We don't seem to be getting anywhere!" She curled her fingers into fists in frustration. "Gosh, we're all going to die at this point." She sighed in annoyance.

Suzume glared at her. "This isn't a matter to simply get annoyed about!"

"Ah, you're right, sorry," Kowai replied with another sigh. Suzume was looking twitchy.

"Okay! Something else that has come to my mind is-- if this is a locked room mystery, how did the killer get in and out of the room in time to kill Femi?" she asked in puzzlement. "And how did they lure Femi there?"

Suzume shook her head. "That's true... it doesn't really make sense."

Kowai crossed her arms. "Man... if only we could look at the room layout! Was there anywhere they could've entered and exited from?"

Suzume Fujimori's POV

"I think Megami means something that might be relevant to this case. She seems to have noticed there's something off about Hisoka. He's been so quiet, but it seems clear he knows something we all don't. And yet he's keeping quiet." She glared suspiciously in Hisoka's direction-- "Why?"

Kowai Kurai's POV

"Maaaybe Hisoka's the killer!" Kowai suggested. "Although... would that be likely, though? What was he doing this morning?" She looked in Koda's direction. No, she could say what it was. What it was Megami may have been thinking about.

But...

She caught Hisoka's eye and shook her head to herself. She had to keep quiet about that.

Suzume Fujimori's POV

"This is just a wild guess, but. They/them is also arguably a neutral pronoun that could refer to anyone here, or it could refer to multiple people... although... I guess I'm either implying... an accomplice, or that it could be anyone. Which-- really, either could be the case."

Suzume huffed in frustration, crossing her arms close to her chest. "Who could've... killed Femi?" She shook her head as though to try to clear the pain in her eyes. "Who would've had the time to do so? They would've had to find a way to slip away..."

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai seemed to nod slightly. Huh... what Megami said there made sense. It seemed she was figuring something out. But she didn't say anything about Koda's interactions with Hisoka lately. She could speak for herself on that matter.

She looked thoughtful. "Well, anyone could've, probably. The question is... how did they?"

Suzume Fujimori's POV

Suzume's eyes were closed. She was assessing the details within her mind. "Was there anyone who would have a motive for killing both Femi and Amano? Or is the motive not relevant?" she murmured. "If the deaths are related... why would the killer put the bat near Femi's body? If Amano has been dead for several days now, and nothing happened... why would the killer kill Femi? Did they want us to come here and find the body? Did the killer want us to find out the deaths were connected? Why? If they just killed Amano, there would've been no harm no foul, because we wouldn't have come back here, right?" She winced. Too many details. Too, too many details.

There were far too many possibilties for what could be going on. "They're both the same killer... Hisoka, how can you be so sure?" she asked, her eyes shifting as she searched his expression. Did he know something... somehow?

Kowai Kurai's POV

"I wonder what the writing on the wall meant... "They lied". Who could have written it, and what did they mean?" Kowai piped up. "Who could have lied? What could they have lied about? Isn't it likely a victim would write that?"

Suzume frowned. "That... is possible, yes. But who could've lied to Femi? About what? In that case?"

Kowai shrugged. "I'm not sure?"

Suzume sighed in frustration. "But... if someone lied. Was it the killer? What would they lie about? Did... they lure Femi into a room to kill him?"

Suzume Fujimori's POV

Suzume's hands came up to her face, with a distraught expression. Normally, she had it all. Normally, she could do this. But all she'd done was cost everyone time.

Everyone was going to die, and it was her fault. Her fault. Is that anything new?

"I guess... we should discuss the weapon. I doubt anyone has an alibi they could give about not having killed Amano. He's been dead for days now, as Niwa said..."

If... he has been. Did Niwa just assume that?

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai shrugged, looking puzzled. "Anyone could've obtained that baseball bat. Also, considering the state Amano was in mentally... anyone with any level of strength could've killed him. If he was murdered. Wait, what if he killed himself? Isn't that possible?"

Suzume Fujimori's POV

Suzume crossed her arms (which were shaking). She sighed. "Well. If we're here to investigate Amano's murder, this might be an impossible trial. Who could've killed him? Could he have been killed somewhere other than the Trial Room and dragged there? If he was killed here, who could have killed him in the Trial Room? It could've been anyone. Maybe Femi's death is the key to this mystery."

This might not even be solvable...

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai frowned thoughtfully. "Well, I guess we should discuss motives first then? I guess? Who could've had a reason to kill Amano or Femi?"

Suzume felt herself start to choke. She stiffened at the sight of Amano's dead body. She'd barely known him, and been-- rather uncertain of him. Nonetheless, she was disturbed. "So that was what happened when none of us decided to look for him..." Feeling queasy, she forced herself to walk to her podium.

Kowai Kurai's POV

A pang of... disdain? Some kind of sorrow? Crossed Kowai's face as she saw Amano's body. "Oh..." she remarked, making her way to her podium.

Suzume made her way into the elevator with a nod, her hands clenched into fists. She looked hopelessly over at Megami, and grimaced. Why... why had she acted so impulsively? She was going mad. Going mad with hate. She needed to calm down, so they could all find Femi's killer.

She inhaled and exhaled, raspily. Think rationally. You need to.

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai's face fell as she got into the elevator. Why, was indeterminable. "Another trial, huh?" she stated quietly. "I wonder what'll happen this time."
