I didn't know anyone could keep track of that, it's gotta be a huge number... well, I should at least venture a guess, even though I can't possibly get this right.' "Cool," he said out loud, not thinking about whether anyone would witness him talking to himself like a wack job. "Call me sentimental- I'm going to name all of you guys," he said to the patrat. Seeing that it was male (is it okay for me to gender him?), he decided on Jesse. Then he asked the pokédex about his pokémons' personalities, so he would know if they had any nature-related strengths or weaknesses. Despite being pretty soft, he was a pokémon nerd and had always been very interested in the idea of being a trainer- now, he was determined to do everything as strategically efficient as he could.

Tristan took a step back from weedout and eyed Adri carefully. "Oh, cool, I like ghost types too."
After seeing lillit's trainer ask the pokedéx about the other two starters, he remembered what the porygon had told them. He looked at the professor, wondering if he should leave the lab and head for route one now.
If he was ever going to have to battle lillit or weedout, especially since both of them were part grass type, he'd need to train Adri quite a bit to make up for her natural disadvantage. 'Plus, spending time training with her might help her trust me,' he thought hopefully.
