Alexane thought quickly, and she stretched her arm to grab the big body of the bear with her claw. With a decisive sprint she managed to reach the beast back and hurt the animal with a deep scratch. It roared and stopped in front of the other figure, but not letting the mask out of its jaws. Finally she could see the other soul clearly too. [Read more] |

The bear had no intentions to stop and the Alexane's thin body was already tired, but the mask was not something that she could be separated from, so she continued to chase the bear gathering all of her forces. "Damn it! If I use my ghost form I'll surely faint" Suddenly from the trees a humanoid figure emerged with great speed it ran toward her and the bear. Alexane couldn't fade and the mask was too important to leave it in the jaws of the beast, so she decided to face the other living soul. [Read more] |

"Maybe I should check around for a place to sleep, its getting dark". The trees were the best choice, but sleep on a branch was too much uncomfortable, so she layed down near a rock and took some time to think. To appease the hungry, she harvested some blackberries from a bush and ate all of them in one bite, but that wasn't enough. On the other side of the river, a small bear was drinking some water; the beast noticed the fish near the girl and quietly it jumped in the water reached the other side. Alexane heard the rustle from the big paws of the animal and returned quickly on her feet. She noticed the concentrated glance of the bear on the fish.and with a deep sigh she took the prey that she hunted before, throwing it in front of the quadruped. "Go, I don't have time to fight with you. And, surely I won't find a campfire soon. It's yours" she said, and with an elegant movement of legs she walked away. The bear grabbed the prize with his teeth and looked up, staring at the figure of the human who gradually became more and more distant. But suddenly it saw the peacock feathers that hung from the back of the big skull on her head and it began to run toward Alexane. It opened its mouth and pulled down the big skull from the feathers, when Alexane quickly turned around, the beast fled when saw the glance of the girl. On a branch of a tall tree, Alexane observed the landscape with melancholy, caressing the bark of the plant with affection. Some bird that were passing in front of her eyes distracted her, so she remembered why she was there and jumped off the branch, the impact with the grass didn't cause sound. She touched gently the wrinkles of the wood, closing her eyes and concentrate her thoughts in the heart. Suddenly the plant that growed from the heart moved causing a rustle, a big white rose reached the trunk thanks to her long stem and started to plant its roots. The tree shone with a dark light and began to die little by little as the flower continued to stealing its life. When the branches were bare from the leaves, Alexane recoiled the flower. "Don't worry, you won't die" whispered the girl to the plant "You're innocent". And then, she left. On her walk in the forest, Alexane saw a river carrying clear water and she stooped to drunk some. A fish with blue brilliant scales was swimming nearby oblivious of the presence of the human. Alexane touched her nude belly and felt the tremors caused by the hungry. "Well, I'm an half human too" She stared the fish and with a gently hand movement forced the animal to jump out of the water, right in front of her feet; she chose to kill the prey with her claws, a quick gash in the middle of its body and the creature stopped to fidget. She took the prey in her hands, couldn't eat it until it was cooked, so she continued her walk, searching something to make a campfire too. She followed the river flowing, avoiding the other living creature and listening carefully to the sounds of the nature; any conversation, any singing, was bringing some blurred memories, memories that she wanted to forget. She shook her head to drive away that thoughts. Suddenly, the grass on her feet became red; she stopped and reached the liquid on the ground. It was warm, she licked her fingers and felt the ferrous taste. "It's fresh, someone or something was killed not so long ago, maybe a fight of two animals" the girl shrugged and returned on her way.
