"Don't worry, Elekid. I'll find some help," Sydney tells Elekid, picking him up and carrying him the rest of the way so he won't have to struggle to keep up. Once she picks him up, she jumps in surprise and says, "You seem a lot lighter than usual. You're also really warm..." Elekid is extremely weak, now not even being able to speak. Sydney eventually gets to the next town and rushes over to the Pokémon Center. "Hello. Can you help my Elekid? He's poisoned and he can't use Electric-type moves for some reason," she tells the Nurse Joy.

"Oh.... no.... Elekid, that's Poison Powder! The poison will cause residual damage, so be careful! Anyways, try using another Thunder Shock!" Sydney exclaims. "El...." he replies, not sounding like his usual self. He tries using Thunder Shock, but for some reason, he can only get in a tiny spark. "Huh? What's going on? Why can Elekid not use Thunder Shock properly?" Sydney asks herself once again. "Um... try using Quick Attack!" "El.... ek....." Elekid weakly replies. He's definitely not himself. He uses Quick Attack successfully, though. It seems as though Elekid can't use Electric-type moves when he's poisoned. Sydney throws a Poké Ball, attempting to catch Foongus.

"Elekid! Are you okay?" Sydney asks Elekid. "Elekid!" he reassures her that he's okay. "Alright, then use Thunder Shock!" "Elek!" Elekid is spinning his arms, trying to charge up. Once he's fully charged up with electricity, the area between Elekid's horns shines red instead of the regular whitish-blue. "Huh? That's not how it is normally. What's going on?" Sydney asks herself. "ELEKID!" Elekid suddenly exclaims, using his Thunder Shock on the Foongus. "Alright. I can't worry about that forever."
