Is because that's not the url of the image, is the url of the deviantart page.
To know if it is a image or not, check the end of the link. If it ends with .gif, .png or .jpeg is surely an image.
This is the ulr you try to use:

as you can see, it doesn't works.

While this one shows properly.

If you open the links in another tab, both go to a diferent page, one to the deviantar one and the other to the actual image.

To get the url to the image, right click on it and click "see image" (or something like that ,my computer is in another language x'D)

For extra niceness and an add on challenge you could link the image to the deviantart page :'D

	Complete support if it is optional. It would be great, specially for device in which you can't hover over the link, but I also find them really annoying, even more if I'm 100% sure of where the link leads. Maybe a filter that makes the pop up come up if is not x, y or z page? [Read more]

Because honestly, there are a lot of pokemons that I don't want to be selected to be on the index page, and that would take too long to go through them all.

I only support if it is like this.
To check only the boxes of the pokemon you don't want would not make that much sense, in the time you checked it, the pokemon could have gotten to the index page and is time you could have used to throw it to the extra box.
