Back in second grade when I was first getting into the Sonic games, I made a bunch of fan characters and Freeze was the second one I created. So, naturally, when I joined the old 4kids forum, I made my username "FreezeTheFox". Over the years, I used it on every site I joined for the sake of consistency. I have a few other usernames on some different sites, but I've really grown attached to this name and I've had no real reason to change it. :3

[Aah, took too long making my post.]

Startled by Crystal's sudden action, Bracken made a move to follow after her before stopping. You should go after her, he practically heard Thyme tell him. She seemed really upset. But the Treecko didn't move. Was she upset that the Glameow had revealed her identity? It didn't really seem like that big a deal to him. If he did follow after her, what would he say? "I'm sorry your little prank got ruined?" Yeah, like that would be much of a comfort to her.

But more than that, Bracken's bruised pride from earlier made him hesitate the most. He could hear Thyme scolding him again, calling him selfish, saying that he never cared about others and that he should just get over himself. He gritted his teeth and forced the accusing voice out of his mind. It's not like I don't care! he thought fiercely to himself. Is it so terrible that I can't get over something that happened not even an hour ago?

Bracken took a deep breath to calm himself down. He should go after Crystal. He really should. But in the end, he stood where he was, gazing in the direction she had run off, a heavy feeling settling on his chest. He looked up when Lunaro asked if anybody knew the Zoroa's name.

"Her name is Crystal," he answered, looking down a bit.

Seeing Lunaro relax a bit, Bracken let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding. Not sure what to make of the Gallade, he turned his gaze over to the Pichu again. She was coming out of her fighting stance, but strangely she looked a bit awkward on her feet. He paused for a second and blinked. Now that he looked at her closely, she did seem kinda familiar. Her earlier giggle rang in his ears. He'd been too occupied with deciding whether to join the Chrystanigh to notice before, but now...

The Treecko narrowed his eyes but chose not to say anything. Whatever, he thought, closing his eyes and breathing through slightly clenched teeth. I'll get over it eventually. Might as well try to learn to put up with her now. It didn't make the idea any less unappealing, though.

Bracken hesitated for a second, looking over to the Pichu for a second before replying. "...Okay. I'd like to at least make sure they're not worrying themselves to death about me. But... that doesn't mean I don't still want to join." He looked up and met Lunaro's gaze. "I can handle it. I know I can."

His heart beat hard and he felt nervousness rising in the pit of his stomach. This was a huge decision and, despite what he had told Lunaro, Bracken wasn't completely sure he was ready to face something like this. But if he backed down now, he'd never have this chance again. He clenched his fists. It would be hard, but he'd just have to push through. Then maybe... then maybe he'd finally give his family something to be proud of.

At the mention of family, reality caught back up to him. "Oh, er.." Bracken stuttered, looking down. "Well, my mom lives... somewhere... around here, and Thy- I mean, my brother and I were exploring a bit on our own. But we got separated and I got lost and then an Ekans attacked me and..." He sighed, not wanting to continue.

Bracken opened his mouth to respond, but no words came out. Wow. Wow. Okay, that was cool! Well, apart from all the Crystanigh being put to death because of one guy. That was really harsh. But asides from that, the idea of Pokemon who could master any type and were the guardians of the world was awesome! Trying not to look too excited, the little Treecko skittered down the trunk of the tree and up to Lunaro.

"Heh, um... I'd be willing to, I guess," he said with a small smile.

Seeing that Lunaro seemed friendly enough, Bracken relaxed a little. "No, not really," he replied. Did whatever it was have something to do with how her fur changed colors? Was it supposed to be another type of transforming Pokemon...? Suddenly his thoughts came back to Crystal. Was she trying to play another trick on him again? Involuntarily, he looked back in the direction he had come from before shaking his head. What was he thinking? Crystal was probably still talking to that Glameow. He really needed to stop thinking about her, but after someone tricks you and laughs at how dumb you are, they're kinda hard to forget.

Bracken froze, his breath catching in his throat. Oh crud, the Poochyena had noticed him. But... how does she know I'm here? he thought in confusion. Just a moment ago, she was so focused on... doing whatever it was she was doing. Did I make too much noise approaching or something? Bracken shook his head; no, he was sure he had been completely silent. Maybe she just had more sensitive ears...

He could see that the Poochyena was on her guard, though. The least he could do was show her that he wasn't a threat. Taking a deep breath, he retreated back to the trunk of the tree, climbed down a little, and jumped on a lower (but high enough that she couldn't get to it, he hoped) branch. With no cover around to hide him, his tail twitched nervously. Please don't let this be a stupid decision. I've made enough of those today.

"Um, hi." he said.

Bracken sighed quietly. I guess I don't have much reason to be over here. I only came cause I wanted to find out what it was anyway. Resolved, he retraced his steps, being extra, extra careful not to make any noise in case he attracted Crystal's attention. He shook his head and forced the Zoroa to the back of his mind. He really needed to focus on finding Thyme. The sooner he found him, the less of a scolding he'd probably have to endure.

As he continued traveling across overlapping branches, something strange caught his eye. Bracken stopped and stared. It looked like a Poochyena, but it was... green. He furrowed his brow in confusion. Aren't Poochyena supposed to be black and gray? he thought, pressing himself low to the branch to make himself as small as possible. It looked like she was frustrated, but with her back to him, he couldn't see what she was trying to do.

[It's fine, Beebs. I know I'll be less active in the coming weeks, as well. :)]

Finally reaching where he guessed the sound had come from, Bracken peeked out from his leafy hiding spot. Okay, so he'd been a little off. The Glameow that had probably yowled was a little ways off from the tree he was in. He heard movement from the trees across from him and was surprised to see Crystal jump down. Oh great, he thought, ducking back under cover. He heard the two talk a bit, but he mostly tuned it out as he tried to think whether or not he should leave.

Bracken jumped as a yowl pierced the silence. What was that? Is there a fight going on somewhere? He listened for more sounds, but none came. Hmm. Curious, but cautious as well due to the Ekans incident, Bracken headed in the direction he thought the noise had come from, leaping from branch to branch and making sure there were enough leaves around to hide his presence.

Bracken barely even nodded in response. Well, at least she be able would tell Thyme that he was alive if she found him. That still didn't make all that worth it, though. Sighing, he moved over to the trunk of the tree and leaned against it. I guess after dealing with someone like that, being alone doesn't feel that bad after all.

Bracken turned his head a bit as Crystal jumped down. He remembered that he was going to ask her where in the forest they were, but pushed it to the back of his mind. She'd probably laugh at him again for not knowing his way around the forest he lived in. He looked up to the leaves above him, trying to cool his temper and forget all about that stupid black and red fox.

Bracken resisted the urge to scream in frustration, knowing that it would just make Crystal laugh even more. Good to know the only reason you helped me was because I looked like, and apparently am, an idiot. He didn't move as she walked away, finding the ground increasingly interesting to look at.

Bracken blinked, gritting his teeth a little at being called an "easy target". He sat down on the branch, looking out over the forest floor. What was the point of responding? Since Crystal was able to transform, she might still be trying to trick him. He didn't want to risk being made a fool of more than he already had.

Bracken jumped to the branch the Eevee was on, looking her in the eyes. "I think you know exactly who she is," he said. He tried to think if there was a pokemon capable of transforming its appearance. He was sure he'd heard about one before, but he couldn't quite remember.

Bracken jumped a little as an Eevee hopped out of the leaves and on to a nearby branch. The more he watched her prance, the more it seemed like... she was laughing at him. He closed his eyes and tried to keep his cool and think. Crystal had gone up here. Now there was an Eevee. This Eevee seemed to take great joy in seeing him confused. He knew that feeling. It was the same thing he felt after he had successfully pranked Thyme once. He opened his eyes.

"...Crystal?" he asked.

Bracken stared as Crystal climbed up, debating what to do. He didn't want to follow after her, but at the same time he didn't fancy being alone again. He took a deep breath, trying to get his thoughts together. Maybe... he could just ask her for directions or something. She might be able to help him at least figure out where in the forest he was. He climbed up a bit and could've sworn he saw a bit of brown fur through the leaves. What the...?
