This was justice, wasn't it?

Why did it feel so empty?

There it was again...

The darkness, coming back. Shadows, curling around her neck... she could see it. Water. Ropes. Blood. The faces, all of the damned faces...

Laughing, crying, screaming, shocked, horrified...

All asking...

Why?

Suzume grabbed at the darkness. But it wouldn't budge. It just wrapped tighter.

Just stay calm. No one will know.

"...maybe. Does it matter?" was all that came out.

She's lying. He doesn't know what he's saying.

She gave a grateful look to Hisoka, and with a tired, drained look upon her face, she rotated her lever to vote for herself.

I should have saved her. It's not Buraddo's fault... it's mine.

"You idiot... YOU IDIOT!" she shrieked, punching Buraddo in the face. "She HAD to vote Redmonda off. Or we'd all die. WHO. F**KING. CARES?! You killed her... and for what? For what? I thought you might've done it. You disgust me. You killed someone for BEING A HYPOCRITE?"

The shadows wouldn't let go. Gripping, gripping away at her, threatening to tear her apart... she wanted to scream. But she couldn't scream. That's not what scientists do.

They stay calm, and they find the answer.

"You're right. I think... they may have wanted to cover up... could it have been when she died? I heard the bloating would have taken a few days, apparently. But, no. That couldn't be it.
