Suzume ate her canned ham, and she hardly suppressed a yawn. She hadn't realized how tired she was...
There'd be time for reflecting on what she'd discovered in the morning... if she lived, that was.
If she lived...

Is there really a guarantee any of us will see tomorrow?

She turned to those else in the room. "I'm heading back to... my dorm," she told them hesitantly. She still wasn't used to the fact Megami wasn't there anymore...

But she found herself going somewhere else. Namely... the library.

She began to pore through the various books there, seeing if there was anything strange she could find. She couldn't help but remember the note being left for Femi in the library by Kowai, all those days ago...

Come on, there had to be SOMETHING here.

Maybe she could ask Hisoka. He might know something.

She felt an uneasy churning in her stomach.

She could almost hear the screaming that was described, the nails scratching the walls...

"We're all so... isolated from each other," she commented, attempting to dent her can open on the wall between her fingers. "Just look at this, huddling with our... remaining lovers and- huddling with our- remaining-" She would have cried if she had had the energy. But it looked as though she had gone frozen.

Like her life had just paused itself. Then, in a moment, it's like she was back.

"...well, Chuku, or, Asahi. I have my suspicions as well," she muttered darkly. "But that person isn't here right now, unless for all I know they're not bawling their eyes out about someone, but listening to us as we speak."

"I wonder if they'll be back soon," she commented to herself. She imagined that Monokuma might have rigged the food supply some way or other... Megami... had said that, well...

The food supply was limited. And something might have happened to it. And even if it was kept safe and sound, Monokuma might have rigged something up.

To starve us, to motivate us to be so desperate, we commit more murders.

It felt almost routine at this point. You tried to enjoy all the time you spent with your loved ones... and then suddenly, someone died. The horror, the trauma, the tears, it all plays out. Investigation. Murder trial. The horrific execution...

Back to sleep, back to whatever horrific new thing The Bear has in store. More pain, more suffering, more death. After all the joy... more pain, more suffering, more death.

What would play out this time? She couldn't help but almost feel numb to it at this point. How many more deaths? How many tears would be shed? In the end, there might not be anyone left. Those left might just take their own lives out of guilt. And in the end, all their deaths were inconsequential, if things were disastrous outside. Or, even if they weren't disastrous, after all...

What's less than three dozen people worth, as compared to billions?

It had been days since she'd eaten, hadn't it?
And yet she found herself lacking her appetite.
It was so odd...

Focus.

She found herself looking at the photos... how had Monokuma even gathered them all together? Must've been camera surveillance. But these must have been gathered beforehand...

Did The Bear predict we'd do this one day? Or did he just gather these, in case they'd be important?

She frowned thoughtfully. "This is certainly odd..."

"Maybe... we could have all been friends. ...and maybe, one day, I could forgive everyone who killed for what they did. She flinched, remembering. "That f**king hypocrite."

She hesitated about Kowai. Kowai.

"Did she really have to be... so cruel?" Suzume shuddered. "To kill Femi, like that? Amano, that was instantaneous. But Femi... that was sadistic. And those words, she said..." She shook her head.

"Maybe there are a lot of stories we don't know here. Nagisa's, Chika's, Akihiro's, Redmonda's, Amano's, Femi's, Kowai's, Buraddo's... maybe even all of Megami's. There's... so much we never got to know. So I think... I don't know if I can forgive the killers. But I can understand."

Suzume let out a little laugh. "Right, right... onto... M-M-"
She stared at the photos... her, Megami, Maji, Buraddo, first starting their alliance. Megami, giving her her food. Her skepticism at it. Her, carrying Megami. Comforting her... and the other way around too.
The confession... in their dorm room. The date in the library... the spilled hot chocolate...
And the serenade... during Musical Chairs...

"Megami," she choked out. "Oh... Megami..." She clutched the notebook and note tightly to her chest. "I... I loved her. I still do. She meant... and still means -- everything. Everything to me. She was so, so smart, and... she was kind, and... she cared when no one else did. She had a way-- with music. She was so brilliant, so perceptive. And... she was-- kind of emotionally fragile. She knew how to take charge. She was-- a really interesting person. I never knew, I-"

The droplets welled from her eyes, flew down her cheeks, and plopped onto the floor. "I never knew... she'd grow to mean everything to me. She was an ally, a friend, and so much more... she was... the love of my life."

She was a bit shaken by Niwa's outburst.

"Amano... I'm not sure what to feel about him. His intentions seemed good though... he tried to keep order here. He tried to keep everything and everyone together. But it's clear Nagisa's death shattered him..."

She cursed to herself, that she hadn't been able to protect him. She hadn't been close to him, that's true.

But it feels like... I failed them all.

"It feels like... when he died, all order died with him. He tried his best, in all that he did. I can't deny that."

Ultimate Romantic, right? Someone entirely devoted to making other people happy. He would have wanted us to find some kind of light, to be happy, to make it out of here somehow.
