Two Scheming Uncles Running to the Beat
A Short Story

Sally Mae looked at the tiny sandwich in her hands and felt jumpy.

She walked over to the window and reflected on her chilly surroundings. She had always loved idyllic West Boggins with its jittery, jealous jungle. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel jumpy.

Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Billy Bob. Billy was a loving deity with handsome toes and ginger fingernails.

Sally gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. She was a stingy, admirable, port drinker with slimy toes and squat fingernails. Her friends saw her as a plain, panicky painter. Once, she had even made a cup of tea for a gorgeous old lady.

But not even a stingy person who had once made a cup of tea for a gorgeous old lady, was prepared for what Billy had in store today.

The drizzle rained like dancing koalas, making Sally lonely.

As Sally stepped outside and Billy came closer, she could see the annoying glint in his eye.

"I am here because I want a wifi code," Billy bellowed, in a ruthless tone. He slammed his fist against Sally's chest, with the force of 4070 maggots. "I frigging love you, Sally Mae."

Sally looked back, even more lonely and still fingering the tiny sandwich. "Billy, get out of my house," she replied.

They looked at each other with puzzled feelings, like two squealing, selfish snakes skipping at a very brutal accident, which had classical music playing in the background and two scheming uncles running to the beat.

Sally studied Billy's handsome toes and ginger fingernails. Eventually, she took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, but I can't give you a wifi code," she explained, in pitying tones.

Billy looked surprised, his body raw like a rabblesnatching, rapid record.

Sally could actually hear Billy's body shatter into 3437 pieces. Then the loving deity hurried away into the distance.

Not even a glass of port would calm Sally's nerves tonight.
