Dax did indeed smile at Paige's actions. It seemed he wasn't the only one who thought that this match was a good one. Turning over his hand he held hers gently giving her hand a like squeeze. "So tell me Paige what are some of hor favorite things? Favorite movie? Favorite color? Favorite food?" [Read more] |

Dax walked over to table and sat waiting for his match to join him before smiling, "Hello. Nice to meet you Paige. I'm Daxter Jr. but you can just call me Dax." Addi smiled at the announcer, "Sorry I hadn't realized the time." [Read more] |

Addi smiled at her mom watching as her momma brushed her hair delicately and placed it up into a beautiful bun. The make up did wonders and she had a suspicion it would look great with her dress. Speaking if which... Addi turned around to see her mother already one step ahead of her. Her mother laid the dress on the floor for Addi to step into eagerly. "Oh mamma! I'm so nervous! I've never been so scared in my life then I am right now! I'm gonna meet my true match tonight." Addi was freaking out but her mother anticipated that to. Handing her daughter a glass of champagne she urged her daughter to drink it. "A little champagne before my ceremony helped clam my nerves on my match day as well." Addi smiled and drank the champagne breathing deeply as her mother laced up her dress. "I cant believe my darling girl is going to her ceremony tonight. It seems like only a few years ago you had learned to walk and mouth off to me." Addi smiled turning to hug her mom. Hearing the horn of the limo waiting to take her to the banquet hall Addi sniffed and dabbed at her eyes careful not to ruin her makeup and skipped down stairs jumping into daddies arms trying her hardest not to scream and declare her retreat. Her mother however came to the rescue then, "All right let go of her before you wrinkle her dress." with kiss and one last tight hug later Addi was in the car with Dax next to her and they were off to the ceremony. They were so late. [Read more] |

"I hope you get a good match to. That way I won't have to kill him." Addi gasped in surprise and sat up to see her best friend leaning against the door frame arms crossed. "Morning sleeping beauty." Addi smiled and stood up getting out of bed. Her corgi Stranger hopped down as well and eagerly looked up at her. "In a minute girl let me get dressed first okay?" Stranger mearly wagged her tail and left to wait by the door. Addi gave Dax a meaningful look and Dax chuckled turning he walked out closing the door behind him so she could get dressed. Dax hopped down the stairs of Addi's house and smiled heading into the kitchen where Candy, Addison's mother was taking food out of the delivery system. Looking up she smiled, "Is she up and about now?" Dax nodded and sat down at the table. "She said she's gonna change and take out stranger before breakfast." Candy nodded not suprised Addi was a vary responsible girl who always cared for her dog like she would any other person. Setting down the last plate Candy smiled. There was always just enough food to fill everyone up even when Dax came over for meals. Dax was her godson even after most religions died out the term and status of being a godparent remained. Dax's father had asked them to be the godparents shortly after discovering his wife's pregnancy. Addi hopped down the stairs and slipped on her shoes to take out Stranger. Grabbing Strangers harness and leash Addi put them on Stranger and opened the door for them to exit and have a small walk before breakfast. [Read more] |

Dax having spotted the movement of his best friend smiled and swam over to her. "You finally ready to join me? I can rent us some floats and we can have some fun over at the wave pool?" Addi liked that idea. "Fine but you paid for the drinks I can pay for the floats." Grabbing her book reader she headed to the locker room leaving Dax alone for the moment to lock up her reader and grab out the two dollars needed to rent two floats for them. Heading back out she walked over to the floats stand to rent them a few floats. Heading back over her and Dax spent the rest of their pool day hanging out in the wave pool and not talking about tomorrow at all. [Read more] |

Dax looked over and smirked. Walking over to Addi he sat down in the chair next to her. "I didn't expect such a beautiful lady to be here." Addi laughed and rolled her eyes, "Oh come now Dax we both know you don't have any attraction to me. And you would have known I was coming if you had texted." Dax chuckled at his friends attitude. They had been friends since childhood and shared everything. Unlike other relationships though it had yet to be spoiled with love. Dax had never held a flame for Addi and Addi had always dreamed of the capitol's matching ceremony she had never so much as looked at a boy. Dax stood up and looked around, "Well then I'm gonna get myself a drink you want something?" Addi smiled, "I'd love a cherry Italian soda right now." Dax rolled his eyes why had he even asked? She always asked for the same thing. Walking away he headed for the drink shack located inside the food court section. Waving to the server he orders the soda for Addi and a plain old rootbeer for himself. Walking back over with their drinks he set them down and Addi smiled taking a sip. "Thanks." Dax nodded and didnt bother asking if his friend wanted to join him in the water she was too wrapped up in her book to pay him any attention. Leaving her to watch his soda he headed over to the water and walked right in ready to have some fun. [Read more] |

Addi's father greeted her then, "There's the apple of my eye!" Addi's father Brandon stood up to hug his daughter and kiss her cheek before leading her to the table to eat lunch. Addi's family were lucky since her daddy was an official they had been given luxuries no one else had but it wasn't that different. After all their food was still regulated into all the essential food groups they needed for the day but the capitol did change it up for them giving them well balanced and nutritious meals. Sitting down Addi picked up a fork and ate the portion of pasta given to her. Pasta was one of her favorite things to eat and she enjoyed lunch chatting with her family and not so secretly feeding her dog Stranger the horrible green peas she despised. Her father chuckled at his daughter. He had been granted the next two days off since he wasn't a matched official and it was all hands on deck for them. They needed the space and frankly Brandon didn't mind spending the next day and tomorrow with his daughter as she went through her matched process was something he wouldn't have wanted to miss anyways. Addi stood up then and checked the time and then the weather before smiling brightly and skipping back upstairs. Grabbing her wet bag she sprinted back down stairs and to the door calling out a farewell to her parents she left excited. "Bye mom bye dad! I'm off to the pool!" ---------------------------------------- Daxter wiped the sweat from his brow finished with his cleaning. Having successfully put everything back and re-hidden his artifact away Dax heard the alarm from the delivery system letting him know that lunch had arrived. Eating quickly Dax smiled and kissed his mothers forehead. Despite her crazy possessiveness over his fathers old things the woman had raised him up the best she could and was still a good person. Grabbing his own wet bag Dax set off as well thank goodness the town pool was a large indoor water park they everyone could flock to any time of the year. Getting on the next train dax headed into town ready for a nice day at the pool with his buds and the cute girls. Who knows? Maybe one of them could be his match? [Read more] |

"I hope your right mama! It's been my dream since I was young to find a perfect match like you and daddy have." Candy smiled holding out her hand to help her daughter up before embracing her careful not to mess up her daughters hair. "You've been such a good girl my darling. You deserve the best match the system can give you." Addi smiled at her mothers encouraging word and followed her mother's lead to the closet. "Now lets do one last fitting before tomorrow. I don't want to find any problems last minute!" Her mother pulled out the beautiful ball gown she was to wear tomorrow and Addi smiled allowing her mother to lead her around for one last day. ------------------------------ Daxter walked along the city road his two husky's leading the way. Dax always like to take his dogs on walks, they were well trained and the simple action allowed him time to think. Today Dax had plenty to think about. His mother despite his fathers death had worked hard to keep her son and her well fed and clothed and Dax loved his momma more then anyone the impending ball only a day away had Dax nervous. How could the system know who his match was? Frankly the thought of prearranged marriage scared the color out of him but the simplicity of never having to pick a match for himself had it's appeal. Instead of the old days where people spent whole lives without another person or spent thier whole lives with many different people never able to feel true love gave him hope that the capitol might just get it right for him. Snapping out of his thoughts after running into the behind of one of his furry friends Dax realized he had walked all the way home without knowing it. Smiling hi ruffled his dogs fur before unleashing them and allowing them to roam free in their fenced up yard. Meanwhile Dax headed inside just in time to see his mother round the corner in a fuss. Dax wondered what had got her so worked up until he saw his hidden treasure in his mothers hand. Letting out a sigh Dax watched the small woman walk up to him. "Where in the world did you find your daddies harmonica?" Dax shrugged acting normal about it even though the question annoyed him. His mother could only have found his artifact if she had been snooping around in his room again. His mother had changed after his fathers death and had become stingy with all of his fathers possessions. Including the harmonica his father had left to him in his will. "I could ask the same of you mama. Been snooping around in my room again?" His mother looked angry at his reply and flaming pissed after Dax took the harmonica from the tiny woman. "Daddy left his harmonica to me and I intend to keep it." His mother sniffed now tears gathering in her eyes instantly at her sons harsh words and walked away from him. His mama always did that. Cried and walked away making him feel guilty. Most days it worked but today Dax didn't give in and go after her instead he headed for his room. Seeing the mess his mother had made Dax sighed and started cleaning up. [Read more] |
