Each person is born with a specific amount of something called soul energy. Soul energy can be used to use magical abilities separated into four categories, but when someone runs out of soul energy, they'll die. The four categories are Offense (Weaponcrafting and/or energy blast type things, or maybe coating weapons with soul energy to enhance the power), Defense (Making shields or just using the energy to absorb attacks), Healing (Pretty basic there), and Manipulation (Basically anything-kinesis). When someone dies with soul energy left, the soul energy can be absorbed by people nearby.
