"Glad to know you finally get it," Crysia hissed, her face an undecipherable war of emotions. Celestial glided onto her lap, pressing against her in reassurance. "I don't need your condolences, Celestial," she grumbled stubbornly, to which Celestial only cooed softly and ruffled her feathers. "Yes, you do."

Crimson threw the corpse to the side, wiping his mouth of the blood and hopping into the air. He levitated in a crisscrossed position, resting his chin on his fist and skimming Reign's face. "The Queen wouldn't choose some lowly, normal vampire as her eyes... would she?" He cocked his head almost innocently and laughed at Reign's expression.
Reign narrowed his eyes and dashed forward, only to be stopped in his tracks. He sunk a bit into the ground, thorned vines binding his feet, and was met with Crimson's glowing, venomous gaze. "It'd be laughable if you could even scratch the Queen's most valued soldier," he said, almost sadly. Crimson sighed as if he was bored and straightened, landing on his feet and eyeing Reign up and down. "Don't speak about this. I don't want to kill you... you seem rather nice." He turned and dissolved into the shadows, his hands in his pockets. The thorns sunk back into the ground, leaving no trace.

He's got skills, at least. That can turn out well in the long run, Elli thought, still clinging onto Ivy (although he hadn't come to terms to what he was doing quite yet). Still... his eyes freak me out. But he seems to be truthful. His mind warred between whether or not he could trust Dexter, but he said nothing to say.

Fallow flushed, keeping her eyes on the sandwich. "It's just... homesickness, of a sort," she replied honestly, tucking a scarlet red curl behind her ear. She took another bite of the food, mostly so she didn't have to speak about it. Mavis huffed and rubbed her temple.

Raven turned his head to look at Adriane--he wasn't sure if he was still looking at her weird, but he hoped he wasn't--and nodded solemnly. He didn't speak, for he was afraid that he would say something wrong and mess it up. Adriane was good, after all. "Is it worth it?" He asked after a bit.

Raven followed and the smile faded from his face awkwardly--he wasn't sure if he was supposed to keep it--trailing a little bit behind her because she said that he would scare the client. It was fair enough since he was known to scare most people that he met. It allowed him to easily avoid conversation, though.

"Good morning," Fallow replied happily, pausing from her sandwich to look up and smile at him brightly. "Fallow, you look... tired," Mavis said, swallowing guiltily.
Fallow blinked sharply, her head tilting in confusion for a moment. "That's not why," she said firmly, "it's just... it's just stress."

Evie sighed and laxly turned her head to Dexter, her face still unamused. She could hardly stand to be around him. Evie fought back the urge to say something about him barging in on them--that would be hypocritical--and instead looked over to Oliver. He won't shoot, she thought to herself, almost disappointed. But it was a sign of good heart, in which she was the only one in the group that seemed to lack it. "Can't take someone by their word these days," she retorted. Plus he's only helping my claim by jumping at us like that.
Her eyes flickered to Elli, who had flinched at Dexter's voice and would've raised his sword, if not for Ivy.

"Well, I do. I'm not worth getting hurt over," Crysia replied, just as stubbornly. She clenched her jaw, not wanting to get into an argument (although that would never stop her from saying what was on her mind).

Reign trekked deeper into the forest, following the stale scent of fear and shed blood. He tightly gripped his sword and it shed dark aura, an effect that he had long since gotten used to. Reign entered that of a musty forest area, once with heavy fog that carried the scent of human blood. He scrunched his nose and darted straight into the fog, his narrowed eyes locking on the outline of a taller figure. Reign inhaled sharply as he darted up to the figure, holding the blade to its neck. Crimson laughed, his voice gravelly and tired. "Hello, there," he mused, touching the blade with a finger. The shadows fell to the ground like black sand and Reign's arm fell in paralyzation.
Crimson turned to face him, still holding the neck of an eyeless human. There was a poisoned effect on their face, which was bulbous. "What are you?" Reign hissed, baring his fangs.

"Okay," Raven said bluntly. He looked back at Adeline for approval, to which she chortled and elbowed him lightly. Staying hidden was his forte and he was more than happy to do so. He walked over to Adriane. Raven paused before giving her a half-hearted, lopsided smile (Adeline had told him more than once that his constant straight face was a bit offputting).

Mavis blinked a bit, the sunlight a bit shocking to her. The voices from the kitchen had woken her up--not because they were loud. Mavis had always been a light sleeper. She had to be, with all that time she'd spent living in the forests. The hybrid Fantasy rubbed the sleep from her eyes and popped onto her feet, refolding the woolen blanket that she had slept with and setting it on the armrest of the couch. Mavis took a quick look at Marshall, who looked almost innocent in his sleepful bliss. She smiled a bit and, with a silence that she had trained for years to obtain, crept over to the kitchen counter. "Hi," she said in a softened voice.

Belle happily tiptoed back to the kitchen, quickly cracking an egg into a bowl and whisking it with a fork.

Blaze paused for a few seconds, letting Silver's words sink in. She was only saying what Blaze already knew. "I know. But I don't want to confine her... have I ruined her by doing that?" She grumbled, her ears flattening. "I've taught her the basics of defense but it isn't remotely close to what she might face in... in the wild. I... The last thing I want is for her to turn out like me. But she has hints of it, and it terrifies me. They all do."

Adeline was humming as she washed the dishes. She hadn't taken Crystal's comment to any level of seriousness--it was more of an attempt to be a help around the cottage. Raven stood somewhat near her, watching silently. He had tried to help, but Adeline pushed him to the sidelines when he nearly dropped a plate within the first five seconds. Raven glanced at Adriane as she entered the living room, and then at the door. He was confused on whether or not her client was coming to the actual cottage, although it made little difference to him.

Allium rubbed her cheeks a bit as she sat on the couch next to Rogue, who was politely acting as if nothing had happened. He had probably let it slip out by accident, anyway.

She pursed her lips and fell into silence, having nothing to say towards his optimism. I wish that I could say the same, she thought, shifting a bit in his embrace. "Lucifer, that's the thing," Crysia said bluntly, unmoving. "You shouldn't be protecting me... especially if it means risking remotely anything. I'm much more of a slave to the Queen than you'll ever be and it's on my own account."

"You... ignore her calls?" Crysia mumbled, her eyes widening a bit in shock. She could hardly imagine the pain that he endured with years of being enslaved to the hard-headed Queen, much less ignoring her calls. Crysia had never dared to defy the King when she was under his bind, although even that had been painful... those years were a mindless blur to her at this point and she didn't want to change that. "And she still puts up with you?"

It's not terribly bad... at least, not to where it takes a mental toll, Crysia noted. She quickly took the thought back--it was different for every vampire. She had quite vaguely heard of mental stability having something to do with it, and when she was bound hers was... well, she figured that Lucifer's was a great deal better. "She doesn't call you too much, does she?" Crysia asked in the same soft tone.

She chortled morosely, pulling his hand away from her hair. "Alright, then," Crysia half-mumbled with This is going to be terribly problematic, she thought as she shifted her weight so that she leaned into him slightly. "How long have you been bound to her again?" Crysia asked innocently, running her fingers lightly on her thigh where her insignia was etched into her skin.

"It's... I don't..." She took in a sharp breath and turned to look at him. "You know it's always going to be like this, right? That I'm going to hold my loyalties to the Queen over love... and my life. I'm a denizen, Lucifer. That's never going to change. And if I was forced to choose my life over my loyalties... Aren't couples supposed to--supposed to hold their lover over everything else? I can't... you know I..." Crysia trailed off and buried her face in her hands. "I don't want to hurt you. But at this rate, I'm going to."

"That's my second one. I have an incredibly high tolerance, y'know, even for a vampire." She sighed and crossed her arms. Her stab wounds still ached but she didn't say anything about it. Crysia huffed, still not looking at his face. "Where do you see this going, Lucifer?"

"Well, I'll um... be going then," Allium blurted, mentally facepalming. She was rambling again out of her own awkwardness--Rogue's interruption had embarrassed her a bit more than she wanted to admit. Allium slipped out of the room and closed the door behind her, saying nothing more. She took a deep breath before walking back to the living room.
