You don't control the speed of the wind. The direction is definitely changing, but sometimes way too fast or way too slow to even notice. [Read more] |

September 2003. The radio's just static now—they always cut off their broadcasts at around nine. Max has come over, though. His mother assured mine she'd be willing to let him stay the night. There's some leftover cake on the table from a party Rusty's dad held a day ago, crayon drawings done by Rusty, marked with his age at the bottom right corners. The clock ticks, and Rusty's gaze moves over toward it while he and Max tinker with Legos. It's somewhere around 10 pm. Max can barely read the clock, much less press the two pieces together the way he wants them to fit. It was a perfect, quiet night until their serenity was interrupted by a shriek that cut through the air like a blade through silk, swift and sudden. Made their hair stand on its ends and sent shivers through their bones. Rusty's mother dashes into the room and urges them to hide in the closet, panicked. The two children—wide eyed and curious—shrug it off and step inside, cramped between folded clothes and ironed suits, chattering about what sort of events are occurring over at their neighbor's apartment. They speculate about horror movies, wild dogs, hell, even vampires. They have no idea today might be the last day they have the freedom to exercise their naivete. August 2016. Max has been acting weird lately. Really weird. I hope he's alright, his mood's been swinging around like a wrecking ball all day. He's been coughing violently. Oh, God, he must be infected. That's got to be it. The wind kicks up dust along the road as the two walk along the bridge, whistling through the crevices of the cracked pavement. Rusty's hands—slick with sweat—tremble as his fingers grip the handle of his baseball bat. His heart's pounding. He knows it; he's sure that Max is infected, he's so, so sure. He swears by it. I have to do it. He tells himself. He's sure there are people who took action too late. Didn't react fast enough. His hands twitch. The bat is raised. It glistens as it catches the light of the sun beaming off it. [Read more] |

hii~ this is the first rp i've made, so please bear with me if there are any mistakes or things missing! i made sure to read some threads for reference:) Frostbound —info ꙳❅ * . A withering wind has swept through the lands of the north, chilling everything in its path. Swooping in from the skies, this winter has lasted for a little over six years, burying mountains in snow and freezing lakes and rivers. Wilting crops drowned in snow and plants frosted at the tips have left the villagers and Pokémon of Hearthfield famished, with the main source of food becoming whatever could be consumed—moss, lichen, and the now rare berries which are often plucked by wild Pokémon before any villager could take even the tiniest nibble of it. The elders reckon the abnormal cold was the work of Articuno—the legendary bird Pokémon which shepherds frost and snow. The embodiment of winter itself. And soon, those rumors would spark gossip and theories. Some say Articuno once protected the land, bringing winter only when it was needed, but now it has turned its icy gaze upon them, leaving only cold and despair in its wake. Others whisper darker stories—that the legendary bird has forsaken its duty, a once-noble creature turned vengeful, punishing the world for sins no one remembers. A glimmer of hope rests within trainers willing to trek the snow-stained paths to resolve this problem; trainers who are willing to venture upon the merciless cold of the mountain to negotiate liberation from this accursed frost with none other than Articuno itself. locations ! ![]() Hearthfield A once bustling northern village with a decent populace, the quaint village of Hearthfield is a home to people and Pokémon. Before the harsh winter, it was known for its lush with foliage, trees that towered over buildings, and impressive farming. At its heart is the town square, where most villagers meet to hang out even during the cruel winter. The Forest Surrounding Hearthfield is the forest—thick and dense, trees growing through the cold. The canopy is lush and blocks out most light, bathing the forest in an eternal night. Many wild Pokémon reside here. But beware, because the cold has them more irritable. Occasionally, trinkets and other important items can be found here if you scour well enough. Mount Glacium This mountain juts out from the earth like it's attempting to touch the heavens Arceus lives within. It's cloaked beneath a thick layer of pure white snow. Avalanches are a common occurrence here. Try not to get lost... finding your way back is nearly hopeless once you've reached what climbers call "the point of no return". rules ! ![]() 1. All pokeheroes rules apply!
2. No character can be overpowered or perfect! (example: incredibly strong, overpowered Pokémon team) 3. Your Pokémon team is limited to 3 Pokémon maximum—perhaps some exceptions may be made, but only if you have a good reason to include more than 3. 4. Posts must be a minimum of one paragraph and a maximum of 3! (psst! the password is your favorite drink!) 6. You are not allowed to have legendaries, mythicals, ultra beasts. But when it did, they had struggled to give themselves profit; resorting to carpentry to keep a partially steady flow of income in. Just enough to keep food on the table. Despite this, Caelum endured, busying himself with carving toys and shapes out of leftover timber, playing with his Pokémon and helping his father carry the wood for their fireplace, not minding how they'd have to trek through snow. other/extra: caelum likes to carry around a tiny carved cubchoo his father made him [Read more] |
