Charlotte rolled her eyes at the group's antics. "Y'know, if we need a place to stay, I've got plenty of options. Been through Wildana quite a few times!" She flashed a grin.

Charlotte was annoyed. If they were trying to stop Legion and save a Saint, why weren't they moving with a little more urgency? She could've been to whatever supposed kingdom was ahead (she hadn't actually looked yet), turned around and come back to the group by the time they'd gotten this far. Instead, Iteral and Kendo were arguing, the Angel was just vibing at whatever speed she felt like, and... well, she didn't have any complaints about the person trailing at the end of the group. He looked just as bored as she was.

"Uh... what is that?" Charlotte asked, referencing to the clock Iteral just pulled out of her pocket and totally oblivious to the argument that was developing, "it's not a brainwashing device, is it? Because I've never experienced it myself, but..."

Charlotte pried up the floorboards in the room where she’d hidden her belongings. Moving quickly, she slung her bag over her shoulder and sheathed her long dagger in her belt. She stomped the boards back in place, dust flying up slowly, and sprinted down the hallway back outside. She arrived back at the group barely even out of breath, but still felt the need to apologize.

“Sorry,” she explained, ducking her head, “I…forgot some of my things.”

Suddenly, Charlotte remembered that she’d left all her things inside. She ran back in the manor, still worried she’d be left behind.

Charlotte watched as Kendo drew or wrote in a book, reading and eating and getting seemingly more frustrated. She was dying to know what was in it, especially as one of his stronger connections seemed to come from it.

Charlotte groaned as she landed wrong on the ground. She should’ve taken Itaral’s offer to ride on the broomstick.

She ran to get to the group, worried that the angel would leave without her. She didn’t seem like the type to tolerate tardiness, and Charlotte didn’t want to chance becoming expendable.

Charlotte sighed, annoyed at the angel for making her get up. It couldn’t be helped, though, as they probably did need to get on the road for whatever happened next.

She hung off the roof, setting her feet on the windowsill, and began to climb down the wall.

Charlotte squinted at them for a few moments, observing all the connections. “Well, not a sweater. They don’t work like that.” She winked at Itaral, “yours has a lot of thinner ties as opposed to a lot of strong ones. Usually, this would point to yourself having a large hand in your destiny rather than outside forces. This whole group, too, is all connected to each other. The rebellion or whatever.”

“Charlotte, or Charlie. Whichever you prefer. Traveler of the world, known by all and loved by very few. Nice to meet you, Itarals. I’m horrible with names, so you’ll have to constantly remind me if I look at you with a blank stare. Not at your service, but maybe at your side if you don’t mind hyperactivity and cynicism.” She flashed a grin.

Charlotte glared at him. “You have thoughts and feelings, and an awareness of those around you and yourself. Person,” she finished her sentence before turning the the newcomer.

“Seamstress? I can only see fate, I can’t manipulate it. More like ‘powerless to change her circumstances.’ You’re the… Itri person, right? Or something like that.”

She shrugged. “A lot of people I’ve met aren’t. You’re still a person.”

“Yeah, it’s like… yknow if you have yarn or something, it’s got smaller strings that make up the larger thread? Usually it’s not like that, but you’ve got…” she made an arbitrary wavy motion with her hand. “A lot of those. Now I know for a fact you’re not a normal person, so it sort of makes sense. They’re awfully chatty, too. A lot of threads will only sort of communicate with me if it’s important, but yours are dying to spill the tea. Some are speaking in full, articulate sentences—though I can’t understand half of them because they’re in different languages.”

“You two seem to be pretty strongly connected. It’s interesting, though… I can’t quite tell if it’s good or bad yet.”

Charlotte sighed. This was where she was supposed to be, with the people she was supposed to be with, but she’d rather be anywhere else.

“Telling your entire group that I can see fate, having no sense of direction…” she counted off on her fingers, “Yeah, you must be very busy!”

Charlotte being Charlotte, she did sort of feel bad for the uncontrollable snark. So she followed it up with: “So how did your meeting with Miss Saint Deity go? Anything exciting? Does she look like the statue in Darmenhagen?”

Charlotte cracked an eye open.

“Hi. What are you doing up here?”

Charlotte sat on the roof of the manor, swinging her legs off the edge. She watched half heartedly as some of her fate strings (like the one tied to Kendo, as well as others who weren’t asleep) moved around.

With a sigh, she leaned back on the roof and closed her eyes. It was no use getting any sleep with a whole group of powerful strangers just under her.

Charlotte wandered aimlessly around the church. She explored some of the upper rooms, but failed to find anything interesting and came back to the main group. The church was old, most of its fate strings having dissolved. It was overwhelmingly sad to her—such a beautiful building left without purpose.

The arrival of a second—who was it? Itri? Was at the very least interesting. Having spent so much time on the road though, she reflected, she’d seen a lot of weird things so it wasn’t too startling.

…What were they doing here, anyways?

Charlotte glared at Kendo as she was dragged around with the group. His navigational skills were horrible—this was indeed the place she was supposed to go.

She KNEW he already knew everything about her.

She would hang back for now. It did no good to jump in cohorts with people she didn’t know

That direction was decidedly not the direction that the specific fate string was telling her to go. That was due Northwest.

“…Right. Okay.”

Charlotte thought on the idea of following Kendo, brows scrunched up in concentration. Fate was nudging her towards going with the weird dude that fell out of the sky. And distrusting real, actual Fate was a horrible idea.

“I’ll come with you. It sounds fun, and I’ve never teleported before! But you’ll have to promise to bring me back here if I decide I don’t want to stay. Deal?” She stuck out her hand for him to shake.
